Is this game any good? It's only 9.99
that's a cute witch
I actually started playing it today and I'm enjoying it. Isn't it on humble bundle now? Regardless, its easy enough to pirate.
Very polished metroidvania with a fair amount to collect and solid gameplay
It is fairly short, but I'd recommend it anyways.
I liked the predecessor, this one should be even better. It was in a Humble Monthly Bundle recently, you could probably get a key really cheap on some keysites.
>cute girl PC with cute girl bosses
what game
I haven't played any of them yet, but I hear that each game is actually somewhat different from the last
Like the 3rd one was a metroidvania, but the first 2 were more like Cave Story, and the 4th one goes back to that or something
It might not be too helpful because of what I said above, but the first 2 games are free
So you can give them a try and see if you like them
Bargain big weebshit #4,385.
Jk, it's decent. Momodora.
Yes, it's pretty good, but very short sadly.
Wait for a sale if you're not sure.
It's a cute, fun little metroidvania (even when it gets spoopy). Pretty easy and pretty short, but if you're into the genre it's a worth a Hamilton.
9.99/10 sounds good
Make sure to play on hard
the fact that it's in 4:3 aspect ratio triggers my autism
If you've got $10? Certainly, it's cute.
Though if you've got $20, I'd buy either Rain World or Hollow Knight, personally.
Why cleave her cleavage?
You prefer 8:7?
Worth it. Also get Pharoah Rebirth for another metroidvania.
It isnt worth 9.99.
Its fun, but I found it real short. Like 5 hours short
Honestly, no. Its extremely short, there is almost no meaningful backtracking (slightly more than Cave Story), the invincible trivializes combat and there is a lack of good, memorable music. There isn't even any music in the last areas, its bizzare. The combat isn't as deep as it initially seems and a lot of the collectibles are obtuse and not really worth finding.
The other Momodora games are like short cave story clones. This one is a lame Dark Souls copy.
developer is a real cool dude and i'd buy it just to support them
>invinciroll
The amount of invincibility frames on the roll is huge. Once you've got the timing down you really shouldn't die to bosses, just random projectiles from enemy witches.
I bought the game for 20 bucks on release and deeply, deeply regret it. For 10 it might be worth it, but again, its short and has no replay value. There are much better options for metroidvanias on the PC.
>Momodora 4
>Hollow Knight
>Pharoah Rebirth
Are these the trinity of metroidvanias on steam?
it's a nice little game. Expect mind blowing tho.
No? Aquaria and Valdis Story are both on steam.
How loose is your definition of metroidvania? Those games don't really have a lot of backtracking, Momodora in particular has almost no real backtracking sections. It might as well be a linear platformer.
I didn't like the way Hollow Knight felt as far as combat/movement, would I like this?
The game tries to be a 2D souls game. Very clunky movement, long invincible roll that you will use to dodge 90% of attacks and the game has a stiff double jump. Movement is one of the game's weakest points.
I've played every single metroidvania since Super metroid and hollow knight is below average in my list in terms of combat, momodori is better in that regard, but much much shorter, so take it as you will.
Depending on which two you're replacing, I might agree.
Play it on hard. It increases enemy placement and feels like the intended difficulty.
>buying a game by a DISGUSTING BR
UMADELICIA
Do yourself a favor, play it on hard mode.
Combat-wise all HK was missing IMO was a nice sizeable arsenal of other/secondary weapons to use, some being ranged-alternatives to wasting your Soul-meter or whichever.
I assume Hornet's needle will be usable in her own DLC though.
UUUUMMMAAA DELLLLLICIA. I didn't know, TIME TO AVOID.
Are you sure you're not thinking of momo 3? Momo 4 required you to backtrack to the start to get the teleport ability, required you to backtrack back to get the green leaf, and it gave you some freedom in which way you wanted to explore. Pretty sure you needed the cat sphere to get some item in the water bit as well.
Sure the game isn't as metroidvania as an actual metroid game, but it certainly isn't a linear platformer.
Momo 3 on the other hand is about as metroidvania as cave story, so not at all.
Wasn't the dev a part of these amateur dev threads? If that's the case avoid it at all costs.
Gotta get inside them somehow.
bet you hate VA-11 Hall-A too just because it's made by venezuelans
gb2 Sup Forums
i was just repeating what said.
it was in the last monthly bundle unlocked today, looked like one of the cooler games in the bundle. There was also the banner saga 2 and that looks pretty good but i saw that the choices you make in the first one transition so because im an autistic fuckwad i have to wait to get the first one but i got no money to buy it. i only have 5 dollars in liquid assets
momodora feels pretty good as far as animation goes, I didn't like hollow knight because the animations and style overall
