They're still better than pretty much every other single player Western game of early to mid 2017.

persona is a turn bases rpg where combat consists of you selecting what the character should do and then watch a 12 second animation of said action. this is 2017, the only reason for turn based rpg with these kind of flashy animations without giving the player the possibility to pull this off by himself is lazy devs.
nier looks alot like a uninspired clone of bayonetta. i already played bayonetta, ninja gaiden and metal gear rising. there is no point in wasting my time with a reskin and paying 60$ for this.
yakuza looks like a QTE borefest. combat looks too easy. again, there is a better contender with sleeping dogs, if i want to be an asian mafia guy.

My own intolerance of weeb games can be explained, that I prefer to sink in a somewhat realistic worlds. I want to feel myself great, overcoming my fears, and coming on top of the difficult situations. For that, world must be somewhat believable and internal rules must be consistent. Even in the more fairytail-y western games, characters are usually grounded, and humane.
Japanese games usually consist of worlds, plots and characters, that are completely unrealistic. Characters don't act like humans, they are usually not even humans, but rather some kind of fallen gods edgy ninja assassins. Even if the characters are formally humans, they dont act like they are. Weeb games, just like anime, give us the worlds, that has nothing in common with real world. If you escape there, you admit, that you have no hope of getting better IRL.
