If you got bored that quickly, then there's not much hope that you'll like the rest of the game. That scene sets the atmosphere for the entire game. If you really want to give it another try, then download some mods like the Alternate Start one
If it still doesn't tickle your fancy but you want to give other TES games a go, then try Oblivion first. If you enjoy it, then go for Morrowind
