Man that was such a great game.
Here ya go:
m.youtube.com
oh fuck that's a good one. here's another one that gets to me more and more the older i get
youtube.com
Anything from Silent Hill.
Alternatively
youtube.com
>tfw had to the moon in my library for years but never played it
tell me how good is it
I always feel pretty sad when I hear this
youtube.com
Feels like this shouldn't be caused by a single song
Well it's a visual novel, no real gameplay besides a few easy puzzles and a section near the end that's kind of shit. But man, the story is so fucking good, I cried like a baby. It's a very bittersweet ending, and to this day I can't listen to the song that I posted without my throat swelling up.
Be careful though because it could fuck you up, my friend went into a bit of a depressive spiral for a few days after playing it. Guess it depends on how much of a forever alone you are and how bad you wish you weren't.
I don't get the buzz around this game
oh it's going to be depressing for me as well i guess
i'll try it though
Is it weird that I find this calming and pleasant? Maybe playing the game its from conditioned me to feel safe when this plays.
It's about the story, you can't go in expecting the gameplay to grip you. If you need gameplay to get sucked into a game this isn't gonna do it for you.
I mean the song itself is called Serenity, it's supposed to be calming, feels depressing to me nonetheless
lurking this thread right nao. sometimes if i see a song i like enough, i'll get the game.
i downloaded and watched anohana because someone posted this in one of these threads:
youtube.com
still in my top 10 animes
youtube.com
There is a big lack of Nier in this thread
youtube.com
>tfw too much of a pussy to play silent hill games
I know I'm missing something great and there's nothing I can do about it
youtube.com
makes my heart hurt a little whenever I listen
>american education
Eh, I'd say it's about 50% calming, 50% "Everything is terrible, you've really stepped in it this time"
Eh they're not that bad on the scare factor the whole atmosphere really takes you in even Silent hill 4 has its moments
The last nightmare area in silent hill 3 gave me real anxiety for the first time ever though
youtube.com
It's even sadder when you consider the moments where this song plays.
this would probably be more despair than depressing youtube.com
>Fight an old man with sad music

youtube.com
10/10 track but it stirs something in me.
Thought this was a bit heavy, learning that Earth got destroyed some time ago, making your whole journey feel like it was for nothing.
It's dreary. It's monotonous, unchanging. It plays in a place of pitch black darkness. I think plenty of places look even more beautiful at night than they do during the day. But this place is just empty, and so is the music.
youtube.com
A lot of the soundtrack is downbeat like this, but I was impressed with what they could do with only a piano
>that hopelessness feel
youtube.com
I had a dream of my wife, she was dead, but it was alright
>This guy
>start a thread with a re4 pic
>it still hasn't been posted
Everytime I read comments about the save theme song from RE4 people say it's calming and I never understood. You're the first to agree with me, this is really depressing.
youtube.com
Sherry's theme from RE2 sort of creeps me out and makes me feel sad at the same time
youtube.com
When Leon and Claire meet up it always gets to me now, mostly because of nostalgia.
I prefer the DS version.
I like this.
90% of Chrono Cross's OST is really depressing.
Both are good
Just listened to the entire thing, man I have to replay RE4 soon.
I was real fucking surprised when I finished Z.O.E. a few weeks ago and the game just ends with Leo learning Jehuty is gonna self destruct in some place and there's nothing he can do about it
youtube.com
Name something sadder.
youtu.be
don't forget this one
youtube.com
is it wrong that I like phase 2 Soul of Cinder more?
how is this depressing
fuck i meant 1:12
I miss my bro
oh im sorry man
>Hey, bro.
youtube.com
Little rough don't ya think?
tell me if this counts
youtube.com
>that little voice break from ADA's VA during that part
intentional or not, it really hurt
youtube.com
>Town made of trash strung up by trash floating in the sky
>Lone orphanage that's falling apart all the time
>Said orphanage has literally nothing fun to do other than play near a dangerous tower that could easily break apart and kill everyone
>The dock workers literally fish up giant crabs walking around on the planet's surface that wear sunken ships and buildings, and take the junk on the crabs' backs as replacement materials when building
>Somehow, everyone is living peacefully and happy
This place is depressing in general. Playing with the orphans made me feel good, but holy shit I would rather jump off the island than live there.
dont do this to me guys. i dont process good music so well
it gets posted in every thread like this, but I'll be the one this time
youtube.com
>rip off Adagio for Strings
>call it your OST
ell em ayy oh
youtu.be
>when you visit pascal village afterwards wiping his memory
the theme is not related, but holy fuck that was a kick to the balls, fuck you taro
>rip off
what are you talking about
it IS adagio for strings, just their version of it
I don't see where you're going with this
is there anything as depressing as acknowledging your journey has come to an end
I'm surprised this one hasn't been posted yet. Velen was such a depressing shithole.
youtube.com
Having it be over before you even begin.
youtube.com
Silent Hill 4 has the best OST imo.
Good pick. Personally I prefer this youtube.com
reminds me a bit of this track from FF8
youtube.com
This song makes me cry like a bitch
youtube.com
though on reflection it's the situation it plays over that's sad, not the music
I don't really like SH3 that much but this song and scene were great.
Shit mom, but I think she deserved better
wow, that sounds vaguely like this youtube.com
Why does my heart...
Ending of this game (and this song) hits me everytime
I love this soundtrack, I wanted to save Ellie more than any other character so far.
