Anyone else holding off their suicide for this?

Anyone else holding off their suicide for this?

12 more days...

i cant wait but i really wish they would show the release date patch notes since the EA build is 4 months old.

is this the highest budget isometric RPG ever? They really hit a home run here, RPG GOTY easily.

No, my suicide is being held off until my dog and mother go. That said, Original Sin 2 eases the suffering.

It's not isometric, and I don't think it's the highest budget one if you include inflation.

I was thinking of buying the first game.

How is the writing on it? How does it compare to, for example, Planescape? What changes were made in the Enhanced Edition?

No I played a bit of the first one and it was boring shit

>It's not isometric

Writing is the weakest part of the game, it's 4-5/10 at best.

You do not play Divinity for the writing.

>undead versions of all races are playable
I've been waiting for this for a long while

You can rotate the camera which automatically makes it not isometric. Isometric has a specific meaning.

Wrong.

Anyone know if spellcrafting will be in on release? I want to play a spellblade and being able to combine elemental abilities with physical abilities will make my dream of a non shitty spellblade come true.

isometric is fixed camera at certain angles

I hate to say it but I'm not really looking forward to it. I swore a blood pact with my buddy than we'd play it co-op but for the life of me I can't decide on a race/class and when I loaded up early access to try to decide what I wanted to play my eyes glazed over with DOS1 flashbacks.

Might just go undead wizard or something when the time comes.

Very excited for this game, but I have to wait for a console release because none of my friends play on PC

Seems nice but I don't touch early access anymore.

I'll wait and see what the release is like before buying

If I was contemplating suicide why would this game stave it off?
>Boring one dimensional characters
>Shitty Cliche characters
>Absolutely horrid dialogue and lol so randumb humor
>Slow as walking speed and general clunkiness
>Uninspired and repetitive story
If I wanted to avoid suicide it would not be for this tripe.

yes they confirmed on stream there will be skill / spellcrafting on release

what you specifically mentioned though i dont know if thats possible

You're either a PoEfag or a Divinityfag. Both games play to opposite tastes.

That said, PoEfags are autistic and you've proven the case time and time again.

The singleplayer experience for the first was pretty lackluster. 2 seems to have less of an emphasis on co-op so maybe it'll be better.

Eh, yeah but after I beat it I'm definitely going to kill myself and I'm going to go down in a blaze of glory, cleansing all of Orange County with fire

I'm a centrist, I like both. Look at me!

>PoEvirgin
Filled with donut steel OC NPCs with eyes that pierce YOUR SOUL
Crowdfunded game to supposed make dream RPG without publisher influence, later ran to big daddy Paradox and put out DLC like a good boy
Sold as spiritual successor to Infinity Engine games but makes 3 out of every 5 encounters about ghosts
Limited voice acting
Lose major writer due to interference

>Divinitychad
Backer portraits as tasteful in-game paintings
Crowdfunded by the fans that love it and doesn't need a sugardaddy publisher, no DLC
So popular it supports multiplayer for co-op play
Completely voice acted despite lack of publisher shekels, voice actors cannot stop talking in to Chad's dick
Cucked the PoEvirgin out of Chris Avellone and is banging him nightly and satisfying him like PoE never could

No physical, no buy.
Looks like I'll be happily pirating this.

I probably won't finish my DD run in time...I really want to play DOS2 at launch but I'm enjoying the hell out of this game right now

>buy off gog
>burn on to disk
You now have a physical copy.

Ball up.

80 to 90% of the sales on the first game were digital and they lost a ton of money on the physical releases, I don't blame them for going all digital. isn't it a PC exclusive for now? Maybe the consoles will get a physical release

was it cheaper at some point during it's say in early access or has it always been 45 usd?

If I were seriously considering suicide I would just go full hobo and see where life takes me before I die. Straight up killing yourself is so boring.

$25 from Kickstarter.

yes

the wait is suffering and I literally have nothing else to look forward to for the rest of the year

diving into this game will hopefully ease the horrific pain for a little while

t. normalfag

I might as well pirate it then, I refuse to give money to GOG or Steam and I especially refuse to pay for a digital "copy".
I pirated the first one and I'll pirate this one.
The first one's physical release only had Steam keys, so it wasn't a real physical release. And fuck off with that "they lost a ton of money" It costs under a dollar to print a game, and that is better than giving 30% to Steam or GOG

How is becoming a hobo normal?

Will the second one be any good? the first one was charming but somehow got bored in the middleway. Combat is fun but character didn't click on me neither the story or main missions.

Yet I truly loved the combat style, would be a shame if the second is boring.

I'm a shut-in neet and plan on doing the same thing if I ever get to the point of seriously considering killing myself.

swen literally said they lost a lot of money going physical in his GDC talk and piratefags should always just fuck off

I love that gag but being fair, it is ripped directly from hitchikers guide

>Anyone else holding off their suicide for this?
>Larian Studios
No, you idiot.

Why that GIF in particular? Is is it porn? If so give sauce.

I don't owe them anything, when you pay for a digital "copy" you get absolutely nothing in return, so why should anyone give them money?

The writing is good but it isn't navel-gazing philosophical bullshit like Planescape and PoE, which leads many people to mistake it for bad. The game doesn't take itself seriously at all.

You can't go wrong with a wizard.
Good plan. You'll probably end up like me thinking "I'll just play for a few minutes to see what it's like" and end up completing the entire first act.

>What changes were made in the Enhanced Edition?

It did a lot. Added more story (the last third or so was really barebones), changed fights and added a new difficulty, added new weapons, added more voice acting etc.

Here's your (You)

The combat is refined and improved in the 2nd but it mostly plays the same. If you didn't like the writing in the first game you won't like it in the second game either.

> If you didn't like the writing in the first game you won't like it in the second game either

Implying that anyone with a brain weighting more than half a kilo liked Larian writing. It's total garbage. Cliche, generic, cringeworthy shit.

Seen people say it takes itself more seriously and from what I've seen in trailers it seems to.

Larian has always had a specific sort of humor in their games and you'll often walk into something extremely silly because they want to remind you they're not making this as a SRZ BEANS setting. The original Divinity was probably their most serious and even it had silliness in it.

the duck
she is imperial wide

If you don't like Larian's writing you don't know shit about videogames.

It's edgy but still Larian. Same silly humour same silly writing except for the few sentences that were written by that talentless hack Avellone and will put you to sleep in seconds from what I've seen in the Streams and Interviews.

didn't avellone write the skelebro and inspire the face stealing mechanic?

>How does it compare to, for example, Planescape?

People keep criticizing Larian's writing but it's fine as it is. Just don't expect pages of philosophy or anything like that. Their writing style is much more in line with Discworld, it's humorous and that's more than fine with me.

Correct, but if there's one thing no one likes it's skeletons and face stealing so it's best to just more on.

>people critising dialogue in an RPG
Good RPGs have little to no dialogue, because dialogue is a shit way to have a story progress

Oh wow your 10 int got you to win the game, well done you selected the [int] option 100 times.

Div is one of the few RPGs that exist because it lets your actions determine what happens, not dialogue checks that mean nothing.

Go look at the most popular D&D game stories from players, its people doing stupidly amazing things with actions, not words.

If you call Avellone a hack, while amateur, 13 year old schoolboy scribbles (aka Larian writing) are not putting you to sleep, then you are truly a brainlet.

Your mother sucks dwarf cock. D&D and dungeon crawlers in general are the poorest, most simplistic RPG's there are. That shit was thrown to where it belongs 20 years ago, to the trash can.

Avellone is probably the worst and most overrated writer I've ever seen. Absolutely Burger-Tier.

You mean this.

I don't think it's possible to be this fucking retarded

>Avellonefags getting this upset that their dialogue "games" died
Get over it. Your Telltale tier "RPGs" are dead.

I really want to play this right now

>Using an Int check in dialogue to finish a quest is better than using your high int character to use magic to get the desired outcome through actual gameplay and choices with consequences

Case and point; you'll reply with a shitty comeback to save face, and I wont read it making it meaningless. Action > Words.

>Case and point; you'll reply with a shitty comeback to save face, and I wont read it making it meaningless. Action > Words.
/drops mic

...

Why? It's a stupid bullshit game
>Enemies are constantly higher level than you
>Enemies appear in groups of 7-10
>Impossible to get even level 5
bullshit game

The game doesn't take itself seriously. Like, at all.

Great instances include

>A man who jumped off a cliff because some statues told him he could fly
>A beached giant clam named Ishmashell
>A feline-inclined polymorphing wizard who constantly makes cat puns
>A senile town mayor who misunderstands everything you say
>Vendors in the town square shouting lines like "No one has as many friends as the man with many cheeses!"
>A treasure chest that bounces away from you nonstop, giggling about how fat and slow you are

Also you can break into someone's house, steal all their shit, and rearrange the furniture just to fuck with them.

>If you don't like Larian's writing you don't know shit about videogames.
You've got to be kidding. Are you really implying that Larian's work holds a candle to stuff like PS:T, Krondor, Fallout, BG, etc? It's shit, dude. The only positive about the game is the combat and music.

Where did you get this? Dump more.

>divinity
>choices with consequences
I don't even know why I'm replying since you seriously believe that writing has nothing to do with good RPGs. Maybe Skyrim is more your speed.

What the hell does writing has to do with game mechanics? Those are entirely different things. Game may have great gameplay, but if it's writing sucks, then it's crippled, and may have been better if writers weren't retarded. Of course gameplay is more important, but those who defend shitty writing belong to a cross.

>Oh wow your 10 int got you to win the game, well done you selected the [int] option 100 times.

would be cool if game gave you [INT] dialogue choice and then it would display like 5 different replies that only 1 or 2 would actually be intelligent replies.

>A feline-inclined polymorphing wizard who constantly makes cat puns

Mercy kill the dog when your mom goes.

You can do Act 1 but it's missing features and won't be save compatible with the full release.

I'm trying to replay Divos 1 right now but the armor system in 2 is such an improvement that it's hard to go back to plain HP bars and CC nuking.

Did NPCs ever even live in their houses? I don't remember them going home at night.

Games are entertainment. Nobody would ever put dialogue choices which require some intricate knowledge. And with your typical vidya dialogue, even a total brainlet would be able to answer correctly.

>You can do Act 1 but it's missing features and won't be save compatible with the full release.
That is why I must wait

Case and point; you'll reply with a shitty comeback to save face, and I wont read it making it meaningless. Action > Words.

They were posting random monsters to their twitter a while back.

they do in DD, OS doesn't have a day/night cycle and NPCs almost never move (which is mostly nice, makes them easy to find)

They couldn't do a simple day/night cycle for the NPCs because of their ambition being too big to do it right. Personally I think they should have started with a simple schedule, like in Radiata Stories.

MOAR

Artist: What kind of sea creature do you want?

Designer: Just fuck my shit up

...

Nice """Balanced""" game
Typical larianshill

holy shit those texture references
which of the fine ladies in Larian did this design

that's an early edition of the game and he's fighting a powerful NPC that's supposed to help you. But the game gives you the freedom to say fuck that and kill almost all of your scripted allies...he just wasn't strong enough to do it in that webm

...

>A senile town mayor who misunderstands everything you say
yeah hes deaf as a post but its pretty obvious hes into orc domination doujinshi judging from who he hired as his librarian

>not being a grimwahfag

>Are you really implying that Larian's work holds a candle to stuff like PS:T, Krondor, Fallout, BG, etc? It's shit, dude.
Can you post a single example of the "shit writing" in this game? Or are you just mad that the villain doesn't lecture you on Hegelian dialectics?

I can't wait for this game.

Gon' be good.

>attempt to fuck up a monstrously powerful wizard
>get fucked over instead
nice going faggot

...

Nah, my doggo has about 3 years left in him, my mother is stubborn enough to have at least 8, although she's getting moderate Parkinson's/senility so I might need to mercy kill her one day.

how long do you think it will be before cleve breaks down on his "no sales ever" policy? He's already giving away the best part of the game for free in the demo
