Xbone controller.
Steam controller is appalling; an absolute piece of shit. Unergonomic, and you can't even use it without steam.
Switch Pro controller is impossible to get working.
Dualshock 3 is also a pain to get working, but it's doable with the "Xinput wrapper" app.
Dualshock 4 apparently has drivers but I haven't tried mine, because it's worse than the DS3.
Xbone has a nice controller (only good thing about that waste of silicon) and it's natively supported. Save yourself a headache.

Trust controllers are top notch. But they don't have native compatibility with Windows and you need to use emulators, so you won't be able to play certain games that are not compatible with the emulator like all the Games for Windows found in the W10 Store.

Probably but the Wii CC doesn't have clicky analogue sticks (ie. L3 and R3).
Just buy an Xbone controller. I blew like 250 trying to not give Microsoft my money but their monopoly with Xinput means its the only remotely comfortably controller that isn't a pain in the ass to get working.
