dammit i wanted to be fpbp

BRRROOOOOOWWWWWWRRRRR

>The shitty classic Sonic gameplay from Generations again
>We could have gotten a completely seperate modern title and a completely seperate Classic title
No-one who likes boost wanted Classic Sonic again. No-one who likes the classic games wanted Mania's plot to be cucked by a shitty Forces tie in.

The World, in hedgehog form

He's Sonic from one of the bad futures of Sonic CD corrupted by the drained power of the Super Emeralds and made jaded by all of the destruction and chaos around him.

He's come back from the future to test Sonic and co. to make sure they have what it takes to fight for a future of peace. He is an intriguing character and his motives are quite complex.

*Fennec Fox form
ftfy

Wait, really? but how?

Classic gameplay from Generations was decent because the levels were designed at least in a similar vein as the original games, even if there are no physics to speak of. This one is a straight up downgrade in nearly every way.

Heavy King
the returning villains are the HBHs transformed

Shadow REDUX

He's your avatar's sidekick.

dumb enough to be true

Tails

the sharpest of blades

>All of the HBH's run away after you face them
>They all appear again assisting Eggman in his battle in the Titantic monarch
>Metal Sonic,Chaos and Shadow have glitches surrounding them like Infinite
>Zavok is seen doing Bark's fist slam move from Mania in the background

Shit,user, you may be right

WATCH OUT, HE'S GONNA DISTORT THE THREAD

If that's the case, who'd the other Heavies become?

Classic Sonic was fun in Generations, though he did play more like Mario / Mega Man than Genesis Sonic. Which is why he should not be called Classic Sonic.

Ninja heavy = Metal Sonic
Magician heavy = Chaos
Rider heavy = Shadow
Cop heavy = Zavok

Probably this. They definitely aren't the real ones.
>Metal Sonic glitching in screenshots of his boss fight
>Shadow has lifeless eyes
>Chaos glitching in the background of that cutscene

>only the gem and Lil' Sonic got the succ
>hurr durr heavies

infinite can open another portal for them :^)

In the Final Boss fight, the HBHs are "Phantoms," including King in the Super Sonic fight, whose apparently Phantom King.

In Forces, we're probably seeing Phantom forms of Shadow, Chaos, Zavok and Metal.

His name is Limit the Cyber-Hedgehog. He was created by Dr. Eggman and his younger self Dr. Eggman in the void. Both could return to their own time thanks to their invention.
Limit has been crafted from the cells of Sonic, Shadow and Silver and his outer appearance has been built by metal parts of Metal Sonic and Mecha Sonic.
Limit's power source is the Phantom Ruby which the young Eggman found.
This ominous villain has a specialty of playing with time. Due to his appearance and personality he is somehow the center of attraction. That's why Sonic wants to fight Limit and others want to join him forming an evil alliance.

This is my theory. Do not steal!

some edgy faggot with a cringeworthy theme song

>Didn't want to play the game until I saw footage of people playing it poorly

Is this a new marketing strategy? I want to know how the level is supposed to flow. Not this IGN bullshit.

THIS PAIN

PERSIST

I CAN'T

RESIST

BUT THAT WHAT IT TAKES TO BE INFINITE

Izuka's donutsteel that he shoehorned into Mania

>Is this a new marketing strategy?

Not exactly.

YOU MAY CALL HIM
INFINITE

OwO who is he?

edgelord mcedge

Or it's just a bad game

Nah something about all that seems intentional.

He's your OC from a bad timeline.

Isn't it Tails?

No, they're illusions created by the Ruby/Infinite. Read the lyrics to Infinite's theme, also Mania's final boss BGM is titled "Ruby Illusions".

He's called the PHANTOM Ruby. Those aren't the real past antagonists. They're literal fakes.

...

I'M TRYING MY BEST TO FORGET THAT PLEASE STOP.

>ruby
>jewels

What did I miss? What the fuck is all this?

Zavok looks so fucking silly around those others

Sonic Mania.

The macguffin from Sonic Mania is called the Phantom Ruby. It makes the same sound effect from Infinite (the character in the OP)'s trailer whenever Eggman uses it. In the true ending of Sonic Mania, it opens a portal that sends itself and C. Sonic to what is presumably the Forces timeline.

Wait, Sonic Mania has lore for Forces?

IT'S SONIC BOOM SONIC FROM A FAILED TIME LINE GUYS
IT'S THE BAD END

Infinite is a sentient gem called the "Phantom Ruby" that was a plot point in Mania. He literally debuted in the first fucking scene of the game. So yeah, Mania is a prequel to Forces. That's neat.

At the end of the Super Sonic fight in Mania, the Phantom Ruby opens a dimensional rift and both it and Sonic are pulled into it. After that the credits roll, and the "you win!" screen shows Sonic in the same pose he did in the Forces reveal cinematic.

>LOOK AT ALL THESE DEATH EGG ROBOTS for 30 seconds from irrelevenat characters
>wanking off the deviantart oc
>THEY DON'T STOP FUCKING TALKING HOLY SHIT SHUT UP

I fucking hate fan theories

Sonic does not split the time line in CD. There's only one future and it's directly affected by his actions in the past. Upon saving the past, the future is saved. There is only one Sonic throughout that entire process and it's the mother fucker jumping through time. The future and past are too far apart from the present that another Sonic can exist. He doesn't get stuck in a bad future because we see him return since we are very clearly playing as him.

In summation, go fuck yourself. This is some Bob'n'George shit.

*Cannot exist

They have voice settings you know.

So are Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic the same character from different ages, legacy characters, alternate timeline selves, or alternate universe versions of eachother? Was it explained in generations?

Generations: Classic Sonic is Modern Sonic from the past

Forces: Classic Sonic is a Sonic from an alternative dimension. The one where 1-3K+CD and Mania take place, but nothing after that since that Sonic was pulled from it's dimension and forced into the mainline.

>Infinite's mask comes off
>It's this
>This starts playing
>youtube.com/watch?v=HcwyDL3-Qqo
>he attacks using horrifying manipulations of reality and the game itself, Psycho Mantis style
>No boss fight, just running from him as the enviroment around you is being distorted
>Goes from edgy to unsettling

I don't mind the talking that much but I wish you could actually SEE the characters doing what they're saying is going on. Weren't they gushing about how the Hedgehog Engine 2 could handle more dynamic backgrounds and whatnot? Wouldn't you rather want to see Shadow flying over the city myself as opposed to Amy telling me that he is?

But hey, at least you can see some Death Egg Robots for about 5 seconds. That's cool too, I guess.

Modern Sonic is the same sonic in Colors/Generations/Forces/etc.

Classic Sonic in Generations is Modern Sonic from the past.

Mania Sonic is from 1/2/3nK/CD and is from an alt timeline because he didn't go through his life like Classic Gen Sonic did.

sanic

Generations was never canon. The Eggman get trapped in a white void and Classic Eggman even says uf he does escape, he'll stop and become a teacher. We'll for sure based on Sonic's reaction to seeing Classic in Forces, he'll either acknowledge that he met him in Gens or act like its the first time.

>when Sonic jumps, he now has the buzzsaw effect from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog
Neat.

He IS his scars!

All the mainline games are canon.

Mania and Forces would have never happened had Eggman not uncovered the phantom ruby, which is where the timeline diverges to create Forces Classic Sonic, who is actually Mania Sonic, who is Classic Sonic had the ruby never been unearthed.

Brain Hurty.

Modern Sonic is younger than Classic Sonic, so it makes more sense for them to be alternate realities.

I'm waiting for the inevitable porn.
We got Buddy the Wolf porn, now its only a matter of time.

He's had that since Unleashed

Supposedly the Forces story happens because Sonic gets pulled through time and wasn't there to stop Robotnik from conquering the world. It's probably true since this lines up with the ending of Mania where Sonic and the Phantom Ruby are pulled into a wormhole.

Neat. Glad they're been incorporating AoStH stuff into the games.

That ain't the case user. Classic Gen is a young Modern Sonic. Classic Gen isn't the same one as Classic Mania. Eggman made a note of this.

A vampire bat

It is not an AoStH reference. It doesn't even look the same.

AoStH has been incorporated in the games for awhile now.

>Chili Dogs.
>Eggman having two robot sidekicks.

It's all there, baby.

Yes it is a reference, it's just more stylized.

It is the case, Sonic is 16 while Modern Sonic was 14, now 15. Design difference are just because the universes operate on a different style.

Hell yes.

I doubt the Japs even know AOSTH exists.

>Sonic Adventure establishes that Tails doesn't need Sonic to save the world, he can muster up the courage himself and take on Eggman if he needs to
>Knuckles is more than capable of doing what he needs to in order to protect his island and MUH MUSTAH EMOORODS, something that Eggman will most likely attempt to grab yet again.
>Shadow the Hedgehog is a fucking secret agent with an armed forces backing him up along with a mecha and some fat bat tats
>The Chaotix crew have answered the call without Sonic on their side twice
>Amy Rose will probably rampage until she finds Sonic. This hot piece of jailbait ass broke into a military ship, and a space station on her own in order to free her crush. She later teamed up with a literal retard and a fucking child to take on Eggman's forces. Not a damn thing Eggman can do to stop her.
>Despite all this, they're all incompetent in stopping Eggman when Sonic takes a vacation, even though they've done it a million times before on their own.

Sonic is made by both Japanese and Americans.

>>Sonic Adventure establishes that Tails doesn't need Sonic to save the world, he can muster up the courage himself and take on Eggman if he needs to
Sonic 3 did first. Sonic Adventure only did it in a way that was heavy handed, did more harm for his character than good, and ultimately led nowhere.

best boy

Sonic 3 Tails barely has his own campaign. It's just a retread of Sonic's campaign. You might as well say Sonic 2 is where it established that.

>Did more harm

My ass. Adventure established it far better by actually giving him his own unique confrontation instead of riding on Sonic's ass (which is funny considering his gameplay mode). It set up the character for future installments. Installments that would later completely ignore the development he had in Adventure. That in no way makes Adventure responsible.

It's Classic Tails from Generations grown up.

He should be up on the cliff, not that fucker from Lost World.

Isn't he dead?

Because the schmaltzy, poorly written plot for Tails in Adventure is operating on a premise that didn't hold up to the previous game (can't even function without Sonic! i gotta do it myself for the first time!), and making him independent is counterproductive development, it's a detriment to his character and the series. His whole thing is that he follows Sonic, loves Sonic as a friend and hero, but also can save the day if he believes in himself. Making this side character sidekick independent is as fucking retard as reforming Eggman from being evil (which Adventure 2 hints at). Character development can be great when done right, when it can make a character do more, but for Tails it only moves him away from what he's good at.

They really hate Mephiles, don't they?

>His whole thing is that he follows Sonic, loves Sonic as a friend and hero, but also can save the day if he believes in himself.
Well yeah. Isn't that the whole point of Tails story in Adventure 1? It's not about him cutting loose from Sonic and becoming his own man. It's about him learning to handle things on his own, even when Sonic isn't there to help. You got the complete wrong interpretation from Tails' story man.

There's one thing I don't understand in the plot of Forces.
Mania's Sonic is the one who left his time/dimension because of the ruby, so the dimension where Eggman won is his right? That would make modern Eggman, modern Sonic and his friends the dimension sliders, not Mania's and yet he's the one labeled as such.

Modern Eggman temporarily made Modern Sonic boop out of existence, causing the world to go to shit.

The real confusing part is how did the Ruby/Infinite wind up in Mania when they're crucial to the events of the modern half happening unless there's two rubies?

No, you've got it backwards. Modern Eggman and Modern Sonic are in their correct dimensions. That's why Eggman refers to Classic Sonic as being from another dimension. Eggman didn't win because Classic Sonic was teleported away, because that happened in a different dimension. He won through some other means.
