The Bad Company games were still great fun, even though 2 had a basic PC port, but its hard to deny they were a step down from BF2 in some aspects. Then again it somehow worked well for EA and the series is alive and more profitable instead of dead.

the problem with this( and bad company 2 if you want to be honest)

was that EA /DICE started locking the game down, and basically killed off what had been a fairly vibrant mod community.

frostbite is un-moddable (supposedly) DICE/EA have also been putting more and more restrictions on servers since Bad company 2 (prior to BC2 there were user-hostable dedicated servers).
