>Demon Souls >Parry and dodge work fine >Dark Souls >parry and dodge work fine >Dark Souls 2 >parry and dodge delayed as fuck and don't work >Bloodborne >parry and dodge delayed as fuck and don't work >Dark Souls 3 >parry and dodge work fine
So will Bloodborne 2 be good then?
Sebastian Baker
Nigga dodge and shit worked fine in Bloodborne the only one that didn't was das2.
Grayson Johnson
You're kidding right? BB's parry was beyond delayed, arguably worse than Ds2
Oliver Nguyen
Only time rolling really felt delayed for me was in Bloodborne and Dark Souls. Dark Souls 3 it's kinda random but maybe my controller was dying.
In DaS2 it's honestly 2x faster to input than Dark Souls 1, especially on console too where only the former is 60fps. Feels like the one command in the game that just fires instantly.
Thomas Morgan
>play demon souls and dark souls on ps3 >never ever pary cuz I never understood the timing
>play dark souls on PC with 60fps fix >parry is easy af
I played too much on consoles though and I still don't parry. you guys that parry all the time are too good
Jackson Edwards
It wasn't delayed the timing was different
Zachary Bennett
>Dark Souls 3 it's kinda random I can agree with you on that one. I'm not sure if it's just Ds3, but it's connected to when you let go of the button, rather than when you press it.
This. Parrying on PC is easy.
Joseph Roberts
Let's entertain the idea of Bloodborne II. What would possibly even be the story? We've covered everything
Michael Wilson
>Demon Souls >Parry and dodge work fine >Dark Souls >parry and dodge work fine This is the first time in 6 years I saw person who played des and was fine with das parry system Sup Forums and souls fanbase are truly changed
Henry Ward
only on some retarded mobs like sharks. DS3 has a lot more of this bullshit with delayed parry window
Juan Ross
Git gud, scrub.
Caleb Wilson
>What would possibly even be the story? First boss is Gwyn and you find out it's just another alternate timeline in the Souls universe.
Ryder Perez
that is silly because 60fps shortens the parry indow maybe you just got gud
Dominic Carter
More Maria
Connor Sullivan
>Git gud, scrub. I like how this statement singlehandedly has killed Souls, Street Fighter or fighting games in general etc all because people can't handle criticism of their favorite games.
Owen Reyes
Bloodborne 2 is literally never happening they've all but confirmed this
Noah Green
Except souls is still very popular
Xavier Stewart
So is Street Fighter. Doesn't change the fact it's shit. At least they finished Dark Souls 3.
Alexander Rivera
What you said about the roll happening when you release the button is true, and imo it's a very good thing. I've saved many rolls that I almost did too early because of this
Jaxson Barnes
>swinging a shield to connect with an enemies attack and shooting them with a gun just as they are about to land an attack should have the same timing
No
Nicholas Nguyen
What are you talking about? If you swing a small sword in Dark Souls and you try to roll, it happens instantly. In Dark Souls 2, the recovery frames prevent you from doing that, and the roll gets buffered.
Cameron Robinson
I actually like it a lot too. I wish BB had dodging as good as that shit.
>shooting a gun should have more delay that swinging a shield The fuck is your point?
Bentley Murphy
Well I had already played 100 hrs on console. It just felt off when I tried to parry on ps3 in deS and DS1
I played DS2 on pc and never parried either tho. I just found it too risky at that point
Chase Jackson
souls parries are fucking retarded. You actually have to predict when the attack is coming instead of reacting to it. For that reason I always ditch the shields because they are impractical in PVE but PVE turns into parry bait shitfest. BB had it perfect. Parry is easy on mobs but really hard on players
Alexander Hill
>BB had it perfect.
Jose Green
>>shooting a gun should have more delay that swinging a shield He didn't say that. He meant shooting an enemy to interrupt their attack to parry should have different timing than using your shield to parry attack hitboxes that come into contact.
Cooper James
In that sense he's right. BB's gun should be fucking instant, but it's as delayed as Ds2.
Jack Martin
I never really thought it was delayed for the few milliseconds it takes to aim and shoot it.
Carson Rivera
*tips small shield and hornet ring*
Isaiah Lewis
I spent an entirety of Bloodborne trying to figure out how to parry. By the time I got to the DLC and Chalice Dungeons, I just dodged everything. I couldn't figure out the timing until I was getting through the last chalice Dungeons. Then I really got gud. Platinum trophy, baby!
Leo Walker
By the time the enemy swings, you're pressing the button and the hit lands sometimes before the gun even fires. It's delayed as fuck.
Justin Evans
>>Dark Souls >>parry and dodge work fine *chainstabs u*
Joshua Martin
I really do not understand your problem, the enemies have tells to them to get you ready for them already and most of the times that I failed to parry was because I shot to early or too late.
Gabriel Brown
being bad isn't a criticism
Bentley Morris
ah I see your problem. You are supposed to shoot when they wind up not when they they throw an attack. Shits really easy
Ryan Cruz
Get fucking better. Bloodborne has the easiest parrying of them all.
Jacob Scott
Shooting when they wind up is just shooting too early. They shrug it off and attack you anyways.
>Dark Souls has the easiest parrying of them all FTFY
Christopher Jones
It's been a while since I played DaS1, so you may be right, but parrying in Bloodborne just feels so forgiving.
>Can do it at range, making it zero risk for some enemies >Allowed to fuck up and take damage during the parry and get it all back from the visceral
Aaron Davis
*tips 4k damage riposte with forgiving timing that you can trigger from a distance at 0 risk*
Charles Howard
You need to pull the trigger somewhere between their wind up, so that the bullet lands just as the attack animation is starting.
Samuel Foster
I have never fought him before, but why not go for visceral attacks?
Alexander Collins
>zero risk At that distance, every single attack would connect, so if you mistime it you're losing one vial at the very least. Worst case scenario you get combo'd to death.
Ian Reyes
Yeah but that's completely changing the point. Point is that it's faster activation in general, never mentioned what 'other actions' where happening that you are trying to cancel.
Juan Lee
because he'll become invulnerable afterwards and start a different combo
Ryan Collins
Ironically, every single one of those attacks would have hit the hunter had they messed up their timing, and the 4k damage didn't happen because they never riposted. Kinda undermines your points when your evidence shows the opposite.
He's probably doing a low level run. Visceral damage is tied to your level, so you'll do more damage by using a heavy attack at BL4 rather than a visceral.
Jacob Anderson
>zero risk
The very webm you posted suggests otherwise.
Chase Turner
>King Field >Painfully strafe in a circle trying to hit some ugly polygon while enjoying a crispy frames rate of 12 frames per hours.
Leo Allen
Bloodborne is the only game I can parry in though.
