I don't have my first DS. I traded the phat model for a launch Lite that had the hinge crack issue, then swapped that for the blue/black one when I worked at gamestop because it was in perfect condition.

Nah it doesn't recognize them at all anymore. I have another DS which does though but the top screens of both are fucked so I can't play DS games.

The first DS I had was a blue DS. I have it in storage now but I remember being amazed at how advanced it was at the time.

thanks, m8. I held on to the ds lite for years before considering on getting a new hinge and shell for it. opening it up and swapping the shells made me uneasy, but it was totally worth it. Got a ds and gba flashcart for it also.

it's worth a shot and a fun little project to do also. replacement screens and any other part are also easy to find online. Transparent gaming systems look sexy as fuck, imo.

it's hard to tell, but is it just really white washed on the upper part of the screen? if you want to, just order a replacement screen, then open the baby up and swap it out. there are several youtube tutorials that cover these steps.

Mine is doing exactly the same, it gets worse the more I play but it gets to a point where I can't see what's on the screen.
