I'd tweak the gamepad segments and also adjust the checkpointing. No checkpoints at the start of a boss fight or during said boss fight makes them astronomically more annoying to Pure Plat.

Personally, I wouldn't like a port. TW101 is one of those games that really felt like it took advantage of the system and made use of the tablet and TV. Like the tablet could be used for selecting specific wonderful ones to lead the team like Wonder-Scarf as your whip leader for the ice effect. And all the sections where you had to look at both the real screen and gamepad. It's like KI:U in my opinion, it simply wouldn't work anywhere near as well.

Hmm, I didn't really think the first game was all that great. The whole draw shapes-theme is so slow and the game looks really cluttered when fighting.

Switching unique members was great, but there's no reason it couldn't stay in. I played everything without the TV and did fine. IIRC the teammate switching wasn't as persistent between areas as it should have been, so if they changed that it could be a simple menu selection without being tedious. Maybe the directional buttons in a style-switcher type layout that changes your current morphs element on the fly?
