I have no hopes and fear it will just be another generic 3D fighter that looks like every other brown/grisly Gears of war game.
The only thing interesting about Mortal Kombat was the real life photo sprites with mixed in vidya gore, and the moment this series lost that it became boring as shit. If they bring that back I'll preorder it and even get any collectors edition that comes out.

Mortal Kombat will never be as good as Street Fighter
the franchise rose to popularity not for it's exceptional gameplay, but for blood and violence. I suppose there's still a market for that kind of thing, but I can't call it a great game.
Once you get past the gimmick of throwing a guy onto a pile of spikes, or ripping someone's skull out through their ass, you realize that it was a dull uninspired game that will never be as interesting as Capcom's fighters
