Games are complementary only. *Being able to fly(in some way) and fire ki blasts(this doesn't mean having a dedicated ki button) is a requirement until a character that doesn't have either or both gets in. *Yeah, lots of Super characters have potential, but they must first show more moves.

The reasoning would be that they would want Super characters in the game for everybody, while they put in popular characters as DLC so more people will want them. I could see them doing Ginyu as DLC, so as to offset the cost of modeling all 5 members of the Force for his moveset, if that's the way they go about it.

You throw in a few nobodies with bigger characters then charge a season pass. There are only so many big characters and especially in a team game you are gonna have to tap into lesser characters. You can't blow you load on all big characters in the base game or your first few packs cause it leaves no one good for later dlc. But you also can't stuff loads of nobodies in either. There are 2 women that actually fight in Z, and one of them is actually fairly weak because they just barely learn how to use ki to fly during their short time in the forefront. There are some good female characters in the series, but very few that are strong fighters. Even Chi-Chi who was a fighter in OG Dragonball wasn't shit compared to Goku and the others in her prime.
Super has introduced 2 female Saiyans from another Universe, but they aren't very well-written and don't have much to pull from to make a moveset.

Glad somebody finally started using Cell's bearhug juggle state; it's go so much hangtime. He could definitely incorporate a Smash or a Vanish in there as well, perhaps another rep and then a Super if he had more meter to begin with.
What I'm noticing as that after you burn meter in a combo, your meter gain drops significantly. Cell builds a quarter meter before the first EX Perfect Combination, then each normal barely builds 5% of a full bar.
I'm also interested in the "floorsplat" you get off of an aerial Smash that seems to let you OTG with literally anything, like Hellzone Grenade in this image. A Character Switch combo instead of Light Grenade here would probably lead to just as much damage for less meter.

It's basically Amaterasu's Cold Star assist in Marvel 3, which means it's fantastic. In fact, it may become busted if they don't make it so Snapbacks use meter, because using it for lockdown on incoming could be a problem; thankfully every character can airdash in this game, even heavies, so there won't be characters like Haggar that just have to sit there are take the mixup, and killing a character resets to neutral so you have to manually force those situations in the first place with Dragon Rush.

You're totally right. Most basic combos you see are at least 2 meters due to Vanish or EX. If mid-combo meter build takes a dive after you first burn meter it could really shape how people put their combos together, stringing as much as possible before using their Vanish or EX. It also gives players an actual reason to use the manual power-up move, which makes their decision to put it in a counter-hit state really interesting; people really need to build meter to optimize combos, but they have to find spots to do it or else they can get punished bad.
Here's another example. Look at how little meter 16 builds after the Vanish when he builds almost a full bar beforehand.
