1 or 2

they are all shit

tactics

3, everything else is hot garbage.

I liked 4. Fuck me, right?

1, 2, and NV are the only games in the series worth playing.

First one of course.

You are forgiven if you can justify why

Why is New Vegas the best?

The atmosphere honestly had me hooked from the beginning. I love the gun customization and leveling system. Of course it's not perfect, the dialogue sucks ass and the main story didn't impress me much. But the open world has never left me feeling bored.

2 and New Vegas are the ones I enjoy the most. New Vegas simply for the character writing and story direction.
3 felt too aimless and lacked the little gems of character writing that Black Isle contributed

Well aren't you a special snowflake

I can respect that. you are hereby forgiven

nv has better lore, shooting, story, and dlcs, and is the best modern representation of the fallout universe

3 has better exploration, the side dungeons are occasionally amazing, compared to NV side dungeons being worse than oblivion, and far more interesting things you can discover in the open

4 is skyrim tier, the worst of both, terrible story, lore, setting, exploration, etc, but the shooting is better, sort of

1+2 are archaic isometric games, completely great if you played them in the 1980s, not something anyone would willingly do now

beware new vegas fags who simply can't let this go, and refuse to accept that different people enjoy different things

What about New Vegas?

What are you biggest complaints with it?

I have f1 gog sitting around but never played it really, gvie me a semi decent class that utilizes assault rifles or hunting rifles and finds it way around wasteland without feeling gimped in one way or another.

NV is nearly a perfect game. If only the shooting wasn't so weightless and stilted.

So... not perfect then?

That's what he said, thanks captain obvious

Didn't see "nearly". I'm retarded.

Story, dialog, pacing (Power armor at the beginning was too game breaking), very little to do, so few weapons. legendaries ranging from useless to game breaking
Plot is by far my biggest complaint but i'm too tired to type two posts explaining why, you'll have to forgive me

Every one except the dogshit that was 2

Muh atmosphere isn't an argument.

That's perfectly valid. I pretty much never used power armor except for big events or going into the glowing sea. And yeah I didn't care much about the main plot. I kinda wish it was more basic and just about a guy waking up in a nuclear wasteland.

useless to game breaking with no in between*

What's so special about 2?

>dude pop culture references lmao
If reddit existed in the 90's they'd eat that shit up.

>completely great if you played them in the 1980s
so they are not completely great? no one has ever done that

answer me

they'd probably get pissy about making fun of scientology

New Vegas. The game can be enjoyed even vanilla, can't say the same about 3 or 4 and I've only played 2 from the classic series though I liked that a lot as well.

I like 2 the most but I wouldn't call any of them the best. They all have good points and bad ones.

fallout of nevada. it's not an official title but a russian made total conversion of fallout 2.

fallout 2
new vegas
fallout 1
fallout 3
fallout 4

in that order

>gvie me a semi decent class that utilizes assault rifles or hunting rifles
have "Guns" as one of your tag skills
there you go
if you want to help combat a bit have high AGI, and a decent PER and STR so that your accuracy isn't shit with those guns

>completely great if you played them in the 1980s
They're as great today as they've ever been. The only thing about them that feels archaic is their clunky inventory and glacial combat.

"I pretty much never used power armor except for big events or going into the glowing sea."
Funny, I didn't know the power armour protected against radiation at first, so I went in to the Glowing Sea in just a hazmat suit (can't equip armour over it) and it was a really good experience I still remember due to the world design and how difficult the combat was. Annoying that everything besides the open world/shooting/customization is utter garbage though.

I just want a honest build dude. per for example seem to be more of a sniper type class following fonlines logic so points there seem wasted when maxing endurance,agil,4 int, 5 luck and 1 charisma. what are perks i should prob avoid something noob trappish

you don't really need a build. classic Fallouts are pretty well balanced in that it's hard to make an awful build (though having any SPECIAL stats apart from CHA very low will fuck you). there's no need to min/max. just keep in mind that action parts are everything, PER helps fighting at longer ranges and not meeting the STR requirement will result in heavy accuracy penalties (not too important later on in the game as Power Armour will give +3 STR). honestly, just make your own build and play the game, you'll be fine (save often though, you can always get fucked over somehow).

Fallout 4, no contest..

10 luck
10 charisma
nothing else matters

Skyrim was a good edition IMO- it took all the busted mechanics from New Vegas and game them purpose.

>B-but Skyrim is not a Fallout game!

In what way is it not? Thematically? Its like saying Final Fantasy or COD games are different franchises because they have different items and settings.

New Vegas- pride of the Fallout collection is LITERALLY Skyrim.

>failed execution introducing basically benign antagonist
>intro in small hamlet where you can learn to craft and befriend a frail, ranged follower
>travel to new town beset by over-arching threat to the land
>travel to the capital to find it basically empty but talked-up by everyone in the nation for some reason
>muh romans
>muh unified peoples of relative intergrity (pick one)
>blunder through quests with questionable indications of actual player agency as you level up against scaled enemies which diminish the sensation of leveling to virtually nothing
>finish the game in a dissapointing mini-map where you overpower the main boss
>pretend that the crafting, decision-making and exploring were all fun when you really know that the core gameplay is really an incredibly-repetitive grind which- despite the variety of weapons available, is basically an avalance of totally unnecessary loot.

gee willickers, you sound like a retard :^)

thanks user. I didnt want to waste time rerolling

Combat really is awfully the worst shit I ever had to play with
Others mechanics are great, world is cool, but don't understand why some retards are still saying dialogues are actually intelligents or deep
This game is mediocre

>we will never get a perfect mix of F4 action gameplay and New Vegas RPG elements

Why are we here? Just to suffer?

>we will never get a perfect mix of F4 action gameplay
good. F4 combat is (no meme) worse than 3 or New Vegas

I don't think I've ever seen someone say the dialogue in these games is deep. They've got strong thematic cores that are handled well, so you might call that, and by extension the dialogue, intelligent, but it's not really deep and I don't think many believe it is. People like it because it's got an immersive world with great roleplaying, a different and interesting take on the post-apocalypse setting, a lot of freedom for the player and it does a good job of handling its fun and silly side alongside its dark and oppressive atmosphere. That's why I like it anyway, though F2 doesn't handle that last point as well due to the overabundance of humor, but I forgive it because it handles the developing post-apocalypse setting extremely well.

3 and 4, obviously. Make sure you buy Fallout 4 with Season Pass for the full experience!

I don't know I can't talk about FO1 and 2 because I'm born to late. (1995).
I liked FO4 and NV (I'm still playing both because mods).
Also my first FO was FO3 but I never liked maybe because I tried the PS3 version and now I can't play that old piece of shit.

But is he wrong?

Yep.

>New Vegas
>better shooting
>better story
>better lore

Fallout 2.

You're an idiot if you even think for a second that new vegas/3 combat was better than 4.

Correct.

>the game can be enjoyed vanilla
No it can't

Yes it can

Had worse shooting than 4 and worse lore and story telling than 2 and 1. At least 3 had better exploration and side quests as stated above

Your reading comprehension is awful user, stay in school.

Why the fuck did the NCR hire the Mojave Express to deliver the detonator for silos in the Divide to the Divide?

Nope, it's one of the more painfully boring and buggy entries in the series.

Truth.

actually, you're an idiot

Your fault for using words like "better" without specifying what exactly you're comparing it to. That just implies you're comparing it to the whole series. That's bad writing on your part which is probably why you like NV lol

Not him but both games combat play like really shitty first person shooters so having FPS mechanics that actually feel decent to play is in fact a good thing.

I'm not that user, user. Stay in school, seems you really need it the help.

either 1, 2, or New Vegas

...

>choices that matter, at least more than the Bethesda games
>NPCs that feel like people and not literal robots
>jammin' aesthetic
>all factions have a reason to exist and not exist
>weapon scaling isn't literally shit like 3
Didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first two but still really fun.

where did you get this juicy pasta from my man? my first guess is gonna be either reddit or youtube.

Then what's all this reading comprehension nonsense, other than bait and an ego booster for you?

Wrong.

I saw an user who had terrible reading comprehension and tried to step in and help out. Altruism and all that.

Playing New Vegas Very Hard/Hardcore Melee/Unarmed Only Right now.
how bad i'm fucked?

youtu.be/XMgaQfv2Xo8

Unironically 4

Great taste user, look forward to some free kreation klub kredits.

You are literally god as long as you can reach your enemies.

>choices that matter
>at least more than Bethesda games
Funny how you added that last part
>NPCs that feel like people rather than robots
I don't think there's ever been a truly human character in any of the 3d fallout games that didn't feel like scripted shit, and New Vegas is just as bad.
>jammin' aesthetic
Cringe. Literally muh atmosphere. Plus totally wrong because 3 and 4 had much better aesthetics, one of the things Bethesda can actually excel at.
>All the factions had a reason being there
All the factions in 3 and 4 had a reason? Besides more than half the factions in NV are retarded or filler.
>weapon scaling that isn't shit like 3
It's literally just as bad.

I have played every single one.
Fallout 2~New Vegas>Fallout 1>Fallout 4>>Fallout 3
I'd say I personally like New Vegas a tiny bit better than 2.
I haven't played much Fallout 1, so my ranking of it is not entirely accurate. From what I gather it's more or less Fallout 2 with less content.
I've still had a lot fun playing both Fallout 3 and 4.

Well explain what's wrong with the reading comprehension.

YOU SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT FUCK YOU FUC̣̮͢K͕̥̘ ̶̗͔̪̤̼̰͓Y͡O̤̝̩̙͞U͉̦̜͠ ͚̹̙̰F̣̹͞U̞̻͍̻̟͠ͅC̶̪̟̠͔͓͔̖K̞͙͙͕̗ͅ ͕͚ͅFU̱͔͚͙C̜͚K̸͚̫ ̴̞̫̗F̤̣̬̣̮U͢C͓̻͔̯̼K̺̘̝̟͖̰̫ ̯̤ͅF͡U͇̫̘̼̝C̩̘̪͕̤͔̭K͖̻̙ FU̠̼̠̰̦͎C̞͍͙̜̖K͖̼ͅ ͈̱͎͎͇F̢̟̫U̮͙̹C͕͙Ḵ͕̕ ̴͇͖̻͓̻̦B̦̪͕͞U͎̞͓̪̙ͅY̧̼̹̻ ̫̠̩͉͍M͇̜̘Y̴̻̠ ̘̟̰͘F̪͕̝͔̖͙̤U͎̟̬C̙̥͇̪̥̘K̤͇̥̩I͉̭̼͓̻̟NG̺̺͈ ̧̮̝GAM̦̫̘̰͔̤E̹͜S̪̰ A̦͇̞͙̙̪A̝̳͓̤͙̭̠̕A̞̼͓̗̜À͈̰̟̥̼͇A͔̩̫̬̝A̻̯͞A̶͙͙A̖͇͇A͔̣̦̗͍͎̪H̥̼͍̱̼͚̤H̳̻̤̯̻̜͍H͔̞̣̰͙H͚̜͈̦H͕H̰͈̣̤͕̫̣Ḥ͟H̹̞̜̝̦̖̟H͓͉̺̮̹̭͘ͅH̞H͇̪͉͖̯HH̼̫͉̭̟H̬̼̖̯͠H̩̯̀H͇̤̞̤͕̟̟HH̱͉̼̝H̟̟͓͖

All I want in this world is a remake of Fallout 2, but with FNV engine, so it plays first person, but still has the amazing writing, and exploration

3. You can tell its the best by how many people retroactively hate it

>retroactively
Ah, to be young again.

...

1 of the classic ones and New Vegas of the modern ones.

>but with FNV engine
No go fuck yourself, anything but 1 or 2 on gamebyro of all engines.

I only add that last part because it pales in comparison to 1 or 2.
If you want to be jaded that's cool but it's actually possible to be immersed in NV because it feels real enough for you to do so.
The last-century Vegas aesthetic is half of the reason fucking around in that game is fun. It has nothing to do with the atmosphere it creates but the visual style. And neither of those games do it better. Both are generic wastelands.
You never get to explore the good and bad of the factions in 3 and the quests that end them are pathetic, like the Enclave where you talk a computer down on the basis of "because it's bad" in three sentences with no reasoning and it just blows up. Same shit with the final boss, too. Three sentences and you've talked down this guy's entire motives so hard he just gives up and walks out.
>literally just as bad
Except it's not deluded retard. Laser weapons actually do damage in NV, unlike 3, and are balanced out by the ammunition for them being far more scarce. Your reply was FO3 in post form because all it did was waste my time.

>Seriously insinuating F03 wasn't universally praised at release and literally created the next decade of shooters.

>old
>still playing videogames
>still posting on Sup Forums
You're either pretending to be older to come off as superior or you're a pathetic man child. Pick your poison :^)

>Seriously insinuating F03 wasn't universally praised at release by critics
ftfy

I personally like Fallout NV better than Fallout 3, but I´m just a cunt.

get spiked knuckles as early as possible

also boxing tape, gloves and golden gloves have a gamebreaking ability to fatigue enemies so make sure you pick them up as a backup, you can literally kill deathclaws at base level with boxing gloves if chet sells them

lol

fuck,i hope.
i avoided nipton until i was level 20(i want to kill vulpes and use the terryfing presence dialogues,ok,ok i know it is a waste of perk but it's so cool).
fucking avoided sloan and went to novac throught the primm pass(somehow i manage to pass that blind deathclaw).

befriended the powder gangers,NCR loves me,White Glove Society Loves me,Boomers Love me.

but if any experieced new vegas user could give me some tips to make my character a powerful melee/unarmed,that would be apreciated.
i wanted to make my characeter badass(being a weeb i gave some shitty name like GAR,a bit of guts and kenshiro).

You really don't remember "Oblivion with guns"? Critics liked the game, sure, but it was otherwise disliked by anyone not a Bethesda fan. I remember the Bethesda official forums imploding between the diehard Bethesda fans defending the game and the Fallout fans trashing it (granted that began not long after Bethesda announced they acquired Fallout franchise).
