Shit only makes sense as a joke that the animator director pulled on the writer since given the amount of time that it takes to make a show like that there i just to much bullshit that a simple writer, who only writes the character in episodes he writes for the sake of continuity and to not step in any other writers toes when it comes to the shit they also write, would have to do seems border line impossible.

Cause logistically he would need to convince someone to draw him as a character in the show, then convince the directors of other departments to okay all the other shit needed to eventually make shit end up the way it was.

Seriously there is just to much shit that a single shitty writer would have to do to get what everybody thinks did happen to happen.

Instead im betting that the studio was just cheap as fuck and just cut as many corners as possible by basing the design on him as well as making him voice it simply because he was there for the shit since again he wrote the episodes.
