Shin budokai 2 was pretty good.

Monster Hunter

God Eater 4 lyfe

Yes Monster Hunter too. Can't believe I forgot to say it

Project Diva 2nd and Extend
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Portable 3rd
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity (English patch never ever)
Persona 3 Portable

Those are the games I remember playing and enjoying the most.

do we really need this thread every week, literally google search psp in the archive

Someone who has never played Monster Hunter here. If you'd had to choose one, which would it be?

These right here

Initial D Street Stage

Gurumin!

Portable 3rd obviously.

like said portable 3rd is the best for newbies but was never released in the west, so you will have to look for fantranslated ISO's.
Freedom Unite isn't as friendly to newcomers but has a lot more content(monsters).

Is Freedom 1 the same as the first MH on ps2? I bought that and Unite.

Danganronpa

Is it time?

PATA

Personally, I'd put SOCOM FTB 2 over 3. Also, there was a PSP port of Split Second.

>buy PSP
>go to store
>only weeaboo shit

biggest disappointment

There's no store in psp anymore you lying cunt. You can only download stuff you've already bought before from ps store

spell it out dickhead

playstation is japanese, what did you expect?

not psp store

ps4 and nintendo are japanese but there's way less weeaboo on those unless we're counting japanese-made as weeaboo which it isn't. mario for example is a western game that was simply made in japan.

ZHP and a whole ton of PS1 classics at the moment.
I'm currently slugging through Suikoden 1 but I'm tempted to just start 2 already

3D GTA's,Midnight Club,Smackdown vs Raw games, Both God of War, Killzone Topdown shooter,Football Manager (kinda simple but fun),Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, SF 2 Alpha Collection,Mortal Kombat Unchained, Tekken 6 or 5 DR,

according to most of the faggots on the internet, japanese = weeb shit

No, it's a port of the enhanced edition (Monster Hunter G) that was only released in Japan, it features a new monster (Yian Garuga) and lots more quest towards the endgame with harder and reskinned versions of the monsters known as G-Rank.
From the top of my head I cant think of any monsters from freedom that were left out of Unite but you might as well start at the beginning.

if you denounce anything just cus it's japanese you are a faggot that's missing out.

There aren't really any good PSP games. Just use it as an emulation machine.

Here's a list of all important monster hunter games so far:
Monster Hunter (PS2, Rathalos on box)
Monster Hunter G (PS2, Azure Rathalos on box) enhanced edition of the first game, only released in Japan
Monster Hunter 2 dos (PS2Kushal Daora on box), proper sequel only released in Japan
Monster Hunter Freedom (PSP version of MHG+Yian Garuga, Rathalos on box)
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (PSP version of MH2+Tigrex, Tigrex on box)
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP, enhanced edition of MHF2 with some new monsters,Nargacuga on box)
Monster Hunter tri (Wii, Wii U, 3DS in Japan, originally supposed to be on PS3 ;_;, Lagiacrus on box)
Monster Hunter 3U (3DS, Wii U, Azure Rathalos on box in NA and EU, Brachydios in JP) enhanced edition of 3 with some new monsters
Monster Hunter 4 (3DS, Gore Magala on box) only released in Japan
Monster Hunter 4U (3DS, Gore Magala on box)enhanced Edition of 4 new mons yadayadayada
Monster Hunter Generations (3DS, in Japan released as MH X cross, Glavenus on box) Not made by the main team, has some new freaky playstyles but stays close enough to not be called a shitty rip-off
Monster Hunter XX (3DS, Switch Valphalk on box) enhanced of Generations, no western release date so far
Monster Hunter World (XBONE, PS4, PC) coming early 2018, pc gets it later

Gba games are fucking shitty on psp. Fuck that

What's wrong with Portable 3rd?

Not anymore they aren't. Like two years ago someone made a new GBA emulator that doesn't have the absurd graphical glitches that games like MMZ3 or MMZ2 have.

Look up TempGBA Mod.

ACX1 and 2

glitches are one thing, performance is another. Any action game frameskips like mad. So do most RPGs.

Nah I'd just rather play gba games on a actual gba. Likewise for any other console it can "emulate".

Again, look up TempGBA Mod. Full speed in action heavy games like MMZ4, and so on. Name one game that has problems and I'll test it for you.

PoPoLoCrois

Though I may be imagining this game because no one else knows it exists

I respect your stance even though I disagree with it.

As for actual PSP games, the armored core games, MGS Portable Ops, PO Plus, and Peace Walker, Phantasy Star Portable 2 (minus the stupid story), Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, the Blazblue ports, Persona 3 Portable, and homebrew games like Doom and Quake are all really well done.

You may wanna get a micro SD to Memory Stick adapter, and a micro SD card so that you can have a shitton of memory, or get a PSP Go, because those ISOs take up a shitton of space, even when compressed.

One of my favorite games imo. Gurumin

alright, thanks.

PS1 games work fine on the PSP. So do SNES games, outside of most that use expansion chips or mode7. Anything older is pretty robust too.

Just booted that build up with Metroid Zero Mission. I'm using 333MHz clocks like it says.
Performance varies from room to room. Can be anywhere from a solid 60fps to 45fps.
That's better than the emulators I previously tried but still not great.

All these weebs saying Portable 3rd... If you have a 3DS start with 4U, if you have a Wii U 3U, and if you have a PSP Freedom Unite.

Weird, I've never once had that problem. What kind of PSP are you on?

PSP 3000.
I turned off frameskipping and turned on the framecounter so I could get a good measurement.
The first room averages 50fps, everything until Acid Worm is solid 60fps, then Acid Worm is about 45.

I don't mean Acid Worm, I mean the Charge Beam Worm. Excuse me.

I mean I'd do that because playing PS1 games on it make a lot more sense.. Any immediate classics you can think of?

On PS1? Go play Parasite Eve.

That's...a suprisingly good list. Huh.

I would add to it:
-Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection,
-Trails in the Sky SC (still can't believe they actually released the PSP version),
-Hexyz Force
-Puzzle Quest
-Dungeon Siege Throne of Agony,
-X-Men Legends 2
-Marvel Ultimate Allience,
-Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles,
-Metal Slug Anthology,
-Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins,
-Space Invaders Extreme

And some translated japanese-only games: -Final Fantasy Type-0,
-Monster Hunter Portable 3rd,
-Valkyria Chronicles 3

Plus a fuckton of PSX, GBA, SNES and Genesis/MegaDrive games, thanks to the emulators.

Are Dracula X Chronicles and Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins good remakes?

I don't like DXC. But it comes with an interesting new version of SotN and a direct port of Rondo so I can't complain.

Dracula X Chronicles is a great remake, if you don't mind 2.5 D graphics. Also, the new final boss is one of my favourites. And if you don't like the remake, there's a direct port of Rondo of Blood included (along with retranslated Symphony of the Night), so...

Ultimate GnG isn't really a remake, just a new game in the series. It's pretty good.

DXC is a great remake as far as I'm concerned, some levels have been slightly altered with extra sections or little tweaks to the design, the gameplay is pretty much the same, just a bit slower for some things like Item Crash being a bit more cinematic, music arrangements are excellent, controls and feedback is almost identical to Rondo and the new designs and maps are pretty damn great while still keeping some cute cameos from the original Rondo in there.
Moreover it comes with the original Rondo and an updated version of SoTN with new dub, dual audio options and Maria mode, albeit different from the Saturn original Maria mode, making it effectively yet another version of SoTN.
It's the last good thing Konami did with Castlevania honestly, and since it's a classicvania+metroidvania pack it's really a must play if you're a fan of the series.

goddammit I knew I would forget one

Monster Hunter tri (Wii, Wii U, 3DS in Japan, originally supposed to be on PS3 ;_;, Lagiacrus on box)
