Someone tested the 400gb SD card oon the switch. It caused the system to brick because the OS wasn't configured to sort through that much data when formatting it, causing it to overheat and die.

I had to buy a 1TB HDD for my PS4 because I had more than 7 games.

1tb lapton hd which what the ps4 takes is far far cheaper than any SD card of equivalent size.

NBA 2K16 I got for free on PS+ was 30gb plus a 80GB PATCH

Only time I ever recall having to do something like that was when I bought KZ mercs on my vita which has an 8gb requirement. And even then the patch that brings it up that high was made optional so you didn't have to download it if you didn't want, and could squeeze the game in a 4gb default card.

Not only are stuff digital only, their DLC is bulky for MK8 for example.

Xenoblade X required a basic install pack that was huge, the optional ones were needed or else you would load even more between areas and have literally invisible enemies popping in from no where even if they were right in front of you.

So essentially what you're saying is Nintendo games can't even compete performance wise with the PS4, uses a far more expensive media to run the games(switch cards), a switch version of the game needs to be compressed and more time spent on it where as devs can just release the ps4 version uncompressed because the bluray disc can handle it and BRD is a cheaper media format. And to top it all off Nintendo is using a more expensive data format for saving games compared to the ps4 which will be a turn off to consumers.

Essentially Nintendo fucked itslef once again by going carts only and learned nothing from the n64. Here's to 20 more years of Sony domination.

compression is different from optimization. By compressing things you're lowering the detail of assets which is what actually does take up the memory.

The companies themselves will spend more time on the switch version which means more man hours spent on a system that barely anyone has. Where as the PS4 is approaching 80 million sold.
