>Sonic Adventure is constantly ragged on for having one bad character >Meanwhile Mario 64 is revered as one of the best 3D platformers of all time, despite having shitty controls that don't hold up whatsoever >To top it all off it runs at 30fps
What gives? Sonic had a much better jump into 3D.
Elijah Cooper
Nintendo is more competent than Sega will ever be and that's pretty much a fact at this point
Matthew Martin
Nice Copypasta. Anyways, What's your favorite level in Mario 64?
Easton Torres
mario 64 is actually a well designed video game also, sonic adventure runs at 30fps on dreamcast
Owen Bennett
>shitty controls that don't hold up >almost every 3D game since has copied its camera and control scheme
Charles Carter
The graphics are so SHIT in this game. The controls are awful too. Fuck Super Mario 64.
Hunter Gray
I posted this earlier, but had to go.
In 2017, yes.
I wasn't using that as a point for Sonic Adventure, but Sonic Adventure runs at 60fps everywhere else. Sonic Adventure is well designed when you're not playing as Big. Mario 64 is by far the worst 3D Mario, Only good thing it has is level design.
Even subsequent Mario games controlled better
Gavin Foster
Mario 64 controls fine though.
What's wrong? Too stupid to control a children's game.
Colton Mitchell
They're not nearly as good as newer 3D Marios, or Sonic Adventure.
Brayden Hall
>Sonic Adventure is well designed when you're not playing as Big. it'd be a stretch to call even the sonic stages 'well designed' >Mario 64 is by far the worst 3D Mario sunshine is actually worse >Only good thing it has is level design. which puts it a head above sonic adventure

The Sonic stages are great, built around momentum. Only thing it could do better is having more alternate paths for taking advantage of it.
Sunshine controls better, but the removal of longjump was retarded and the level design was far worse.
Mason Ross
Yes they are though. They execute fine and the mechanics work fine.
Even if later games are smoother, mario is much more acrobatic.
I even tried playing sunshine and hell he felt way to floaty in that.
Jacob Myers
>despite having shitty controls that don't hold up whatsoever The controls are tight as hell, faggot.
Jace Foster
>Sonic Adventure is filled to the brim with bullshit >only the Sonic parts are "good" and even they're usually nothing special >every other character rehashes other levels and plays way worse >on top of being shit game design to even do alternate characters like that >hub world is broken into sections and really serves no purpose but to bog the game down compared to Peach's Castle which is actually fun to explore and doesn't have to load every minute
Nah. SM64 came out and revolutionized games. Sega tried to compete and all they could manage was a bunch of ideas thrown at a wall nigger-rigged together.
Chase Edwards
>The Sonic stages are great, built around momentum. you mean built around boost pads
Alexander Robinson
The truth is they're both good, I know it's pretty hard to believe though.
Jaxson Kelly
No
If you call that tight, you must think Heroes controls well

>the game shoe horns at big the cat >Sup Forums still defends sonic adventure even after this How? You literally have to play that crap to get the super sonic ending absolutely unacceptable and has aged like milk
Jackson Young
Not really; there's actually not many boost pads in SA1 Sonic stages. Particularly when compared to the games that came after. Hell, I'd go as far as saying Red Mountain is the best level ever conceived for a 3D sonic stage, even considering the fifteen years of different attempts at 3D Sonic since. It's simply an amazing stage that gives a lot of control and a lot of options for where you can go, with the only minor blemish being the interior section later in the stage
Jose Richardson
Mario 64 was shit even when it was brand new baka desu senpai
Eli Wright
I agree entirely. I love both SA1 and Mario 64.
Big's story is literally 20 minutes long. If you wanna say the entire game is shit for that alone, then I guess there aren't any good games, since I can list an endless amount of games that have a shitty section of that length or two but otherwise remain enjoyable games.
Brody Williams
Mario 64 has platforming that works just fine once you learn how it works, and most of its levels are great. Sonic Adventure lets you cheese through levels with the overpowered spindash but it also requires skill not to fall off the stage doing this. It's very possible.
Leo Smith
The only aspect of Sonic Adventure that's better than Mario 64 is the its music.
