Yes actually. Most of the Sakura games have a story that is at least on par with the majority of visual novels. They don't need to be Clannad to be enjoyable.

Pretty gud but also a bit bullshit.
Some events that occur happen by chance, meaning while you might have one thing happen in one playthrough, preparing for that same event may be a useless endeavour in another. There are also very specific ways you're supposed to play that you won't really realize until after you've died to something. In that sense, the game, despite feeling very open as to which choices you can upgrade on the queen, pushes you to upgrade very specific stats in a very specific order. If you stray too far from such you have a chance of dying. Its a game of encouraging the player to learn to min/max by killing you constantly, basically. This in itself can still be fun, though I just wanted to warn you on that. There's still a lot of fun to be had in just having such control over how your queen is raised and there really are so many choices that the game has a few different paths you can take. Beyond all that, the art is gorgeous and the music is classy and gives off a sense of regality that it needs.

Its worth a playthrough, just know that it'll take a few playthroughs to win and you'll be spending some time min/maxing.
