Dragons Dogma

>Gives me a quest to go to witchwood within the first hour of the game
>Head up the hill
>Get curbstomped by bandits that I can't even tickle
thanks game

What a gaffe.

Same reason I stopped playing. There's no excuse for high level enemies to be anywhere near an early game quest unless it's thematic.

Run away or past them.

>decide to skip this mission for now and progress the main quest for XP
>quest gets canceled without warning

*blocks your path*

If you feel a foe is beyond your means, there's no shame in fleeing.
>Sell the monocle
>Upgrade your gear
>Do all the noticeboard "kill 10 wolves" quests
>Run through

*isn't in the direction you are supposed to be going*

Go at night. You just deal with wolves.

>double jump/float right before hitting the ground from a high ledge
>still take all the damage

Just run past them retard.

Sword and shield faggot dies quick to magic. Just kill the squishies and then focus the fag after.

Or just run to the Witchwood but that makes you a bitch.

Just wait until night, bro

>being this bad

>Sword and shield faggot dies quick to magic
no they don't man

all of their stats are much higher than any other bandit class except the 2h warriors maybe. but those are too fucking slow to do anything to anyone.

I want to like this game but it feels like the enemies are incredibly damage spongey.

just upgrade your gear

for real though, play it smart and go with at least 2 pawns, one being a magic caster that can buff your weapon. Works specially well with fire buff.

Stunlocking him also works as once he gets staggered you can juggle him for a bit

>get cutscene with the them watching me leave the city
>Get attacked by them really late in the game, and I essentially one shot all of them
What the fuck was their problem? Were they rouge pawns or just bandits?

Why does it need this much damn strategy for just heading on the road towards the second or third side mission in the game?

>use a buff or attack him really hard
>too much strategy
brainlet

Jesus Christ, are you guys really this bad?

I played through that part both as a spellcaster and a meleefag, and I never found difficulty in that section. I immediately knew that arrow and mage bandits were going to be a problem. So, I focused on them first and then went on to attack the melee guys, or let mages and arrow guy damage their own men as they are shooting.

its not much of a strategy though, as there is a pawn stone on the first camp of the game.

Just build your party as you would a D&D party, with a tank, a physical damage dealer, a mage and an archer/healer. basica rpg, really

oh yeah, if you're not already playing with a sword and shield, a tank type pawn works well to tie them down. It makes it really easy to juggle them that way

Can you have those many pawns that early? I thought you could only have two.

Upgrade your gear. And merchants start selling better things when you progress the main story. Certain enemies have weaknesses, having blunt weapons (warrior or mystic knight) and fire solves most problems.

You can summon more pawns as soon as you make your own.

Hm, good question. If its only two then OP just has to get a mage one and he's good

POST YOUR ARISENS AND PAWNS

R8 OTHERS ARISENS AND PAWNS

>see that it was best girl's path later

Come on user at least head in the right direction.

>go up the path with the rolling boulders
>fight that one random shield guy up the path who's significantly stronger than the other bandits around him

what was him problem anyway

w

This annoys me to know end.
Same shit was in Banjo Kazooie on the N64 (I think they patched it out for the 360 version).

>he didint beat the tutorial bandits

git gud guy. or, if you got no pride, you could just run past them.

that's nice of the bigger bee to give his smaller bee-buddy a lift

I think his problem was your party

>yoyo spin a deadly fall
>walk away without a scratch

just stealth run it and raped them on the way back, among sweetest thing i had in vidya

Fuck, too bad I'm at my cousin's house meaning I don't have my Arisen and Pawn images at hand.

I loved this about the game. My determination to kill those fucking bandits was absurdly unreasonable.

upgrade your gear and level as a class that will increases your physical strength. (assassin, warrior)

Post your cousin pics instead.

Here my pawn, can't be fucked to find a poic of my arisen

>actually end up beating pawn-ass slapping bandit and run past the other gangs
>wander around witchwood lost for ages as it gets dark, fighting off endlessly respawning wolves as curatives run out.

Was actually pretty intense and fun.

WHERE is this game's fucking sequel though?

HOLD NUTTING BACK

Same here, I don't even know how can they be difficult.

Watch out user! You're sinking!!

Don't mention the sequel you fool

It hurts too much

Welcome to video games kid. Git fuckin gud.

>Quest to go to Gran Soron
>See a split in the road and decided to go "exploring"
>This goes on for several detours
>Encounter an army of Lizardmen that I somehow hold off with my pawns
>Defeat a group of bandits
>Kill not one but two fucking Cyclops
>Run into the Chimera fucker and fight him for what seems like an eternity
>Find a Dragon and run the fuck away
>Make my way to some fortress with a giant door
>Can't get in
>Finally decide to go back to do my quest
>Find a quest
>I have to go back

>Go to get a pawn for the first time in the rift
>Every person is butt fucking ugly
Why do people suck so much at making good looking characters? It really isn't that hard

>Fighting the first Eliminator you find in BBI
>Suddenly an elder ogre shows up to rape me in the asshole
>Managed to kill them both

what pissed me off about this is that every bandit was easy as shit except for that one melee dude that could basically one hit you

For me I stabbed the guys and they took like a small sliver of a fraction of their health away, which was frustrating enough to experience from the first group of guys on the top of the hill. Are the differences between upgraded weapons really that severe?

>early game
>every character is wearing the princess dress

The combat is very poorly designed in this game. I mean, just stock up on health restoratives and you're effectively invulnerable until you run out because there's no delay/animation for spamming healing items. That alone breaks the combat, and it's only the tip of the iceberg.

Game is just badly balanced and thought-out in general. Lots of really cool ideas but not much else going for it.

>Just start playing again on PC
>In offline and hiring the nice variety of pawns
>decided to connect to online
>literally every pawn is wearing a princess dress

The real problem are the the sword&board bandits. If you started as a fighter use the the rushing attack you start with to knock them out. Also dont stay in one place, move all over, use the rushing attack and keep resurrecting your pawns. Takes a couple of tries but its not that hard once you get the hang of it.

I like it

I love how much these threads show up any time a console game is released on PC

Stop skillshaming.

DD2 never ever
ever

Delete this right now

Oh shit, I thought this part was unusually difficult. Fuckers basically one-shot me.

That's ok.

how dare you

Don't worry, you'll always have Dragons Dogma online right?

its annoying but you can run past them and witchwood itself is more your level

>tfw you're standing on a ledge and one of your pawns just walks off the cliff
>can't even go revive them

I love this game, and probably replay it 1 or 2 times every years

but honestly this part is stupid. These bandits are way stronger than anything you have faced before, or anything you will face for at least a few hours. At least the everfall ogre cant kill you in 2 seconds (unless you are thrown off).

Yes you can easily run past them (as well as nearly any enemy in the game), but the point is that a new player will have issue with these guys and it makes no sense since nothing else in this game provides much challenge aside from the final bosses

buckle up boys we have a Daimon to kill

>Wandering around with just my main pawn and Rook after getting to Gran Soren the first time
>Stumble my way into the Quarry
>Had a huge fight with TWO Ogres for an hour, took up all of our resources but we won by the skin of our teeth.
>By the time I reached the exit it was pitch black and we're surrounded by lizardmen and hobgoblins from all directions.
>When I thought things couldn't get any worse my pawn screams "d-dragon!" and I got stomped out of nowhere, killing me in one hit before I could even see it.

At that moment I knew I bought the perfect game.

"No! They hold the advantage!"

I think the main problem is that the game is really bad at giving a new player direction, sure you go to gran soren but then what exactly? Almost every direction you can go in will get you fucking wrecked.

mh:world looks like it took a lot of cues from dd so there's that, i guess

>game shows decent sales as well as high player attachment
>no sequel ever

It's like everyone in video game publishing is retarded these days.

...

flying into free will never come back

Male arisen w/ 3 female pawn masterrace

titties so huge the texture on the armor is stretched out

Female arisen w/ 2 female pawn and 1 extremely homosexual looking male masterrace

>It's like Capcom is retarded these days.

They've been retarded since they gave Ninja Theory the keys to DMC and told them to "do something that you think would make us mad."

>Wolves hunt in packs arrisen.....
As they keep falling

My twink arisen and deus vult pawn.

Punished/10
Dark+muscle/10
I like the blue one more, also punished/10
Tits/10

Post your faces when.
>yfw you first jump into the Everfall

DDO WEST WHEN

My pawn, I'm pretty pleased with how she turned out.

Not him but the first thing I did for my Pawn was I set the tits meter to max.

Just Comestion the shit out of them.

I gave my pawn small titties and wide hips

Red classes can grapple or pin down the tough bandit "leaders" reducing their effective armour to zero and letting you kill them fast.

I actually went for smallest tits and wide hips when I first made her.

...

lol my arisen wears a similar outfit but with a thinner face and not as masculine

...

She looks like she'd get cold outside. Give her a jacket, user.

>bandit leader gets knocked down
>pick him up and toss him down the cliff

...
