How do you justify yourself when you emulate games?
How do you justify yourself when you emulate games?
I call Nintendo and ask for their permission. They always say no and to buy the SNES Classic but I ignore it because just asking them is enough for me.
I want to.
b-b-b-but user! you HAVE to at least own a copy of the game you're emulating!
Lack of demand for a rerelease.
same
How do you justify it when you fap to traps and pretend it's not gay?
Why is running my games on one set of hardware as opposed to another a moral issue?
I need money for groceries and gas, and I'm not going to pay an insane amount of money to play old games when they're ready for download in minutes.
I don't.
There's no way to even buy them and make sure the company even gets the money, I'm not a bitch so i dont care about justifying anything this insignificant.
>How do you justify yourself when you emulate games?
"huh, turns out I am a shit person. Oh well."
You only can buy it digital or second hand. If there's a remake/remaster I won't buy it.
Because I'm poor and gay
Only Americans "justify" themselves.
...
because it's free and nobody is going to do shit to stop me
you're stealing though
yeah
and?
If I emulate Ocarina of Time, and I own Ocarina of Time and an N64 console, is that stealing?
This, I emulated the first three Metal Gear games recently, I don't feel bad about it because I've purchased them in the past, some even more than once. Then again, I did emulate God Hand as well, even though I've never paid for that game before. I feel like I'd feel worse for wasting money on an old system and an old game, when I could play it at a better resolution for free.
>do i go ahead and buy a $400 system which runs games at 720p, 30fps, and reuqires i buy a normal controller seperately AND THEN spend the $60 on the game
>or do i spend an hour learning how to use an emulator and play at 1440p, 60fps, higher texture quality and have far better load times on my SSD all while paying $0?
my justification? i don't fall for obvious rip-offs
i cant believe people defend the switch
There's no system in place to enforce it. I bet you couldn't turn yourself in even if you tried. Nintendo would probably just tell you to delete it.
Existence is hard to justify you're right.
I dont?
I just emulate them.
or ban ya like they tried to do with the 3ds
which amounted to nothing considering there are no fucking games that have worthwhile online shit other then pokemon and monster hunter
how does OP justify breathing
If Nintendo made an actual, hardware accurate snes and ran a line of physical snes media then I would totally buy it
But why on earth would I pay for an emulator that isn't any better than what's already available?
>How do you justify yourself when you emulate games?
The companies aren't even selling the games that I emulate anymore.
Games and consoles get discontinued, if i can't buy them anymore at the store, i consider it fair game.
I want to play games so I play them
Justify what? Having fun? I don't need to bitch
I dont emulate because it doesnt feel right.
>So Many Thieves In This Thread
Is This What Our Generation Has Amounted To?
i already own it i just want to have it on my computer
Because when I want to play some games from the yesteryears I just do it, nobody should give a fuck about that
Faggot
Everything I play is older shit thats out of print.
>Literally Typing Like A Brainlet
end yourself
I'm not a fucking queer.
Funny enough I've actually just recently taught all my 7 siblings how to emulate a bunch of ps1 and N64 games on their family computer, even gave them flashdrives full to the brim with games.
Hell I even put GBA games on their phones, its just fucking easy
Wow, I didn't know you could emulate the Switch!
its not really all that difficult
how about you deal with it
The game I want is no longer readily available, and the company that makes it doesn't profit from a $500 copy from ebay.
Pirating old shit is fine. It's new shit, like stuff that literally just came out that's the real issue
I don't need to, faggot.
Because ninte ndo refuses to put their games on the eshop and I have no other way of playing them other than buying them from a 3rd party online which defeats the purpose anyways as nintendo doesn't get the sale.
Because artificial scarcity is the most bullshit marketing technique and this company shouldn't be supported for it.
I wouldnt pay to play old snes games
I don't care.
Because some games I would like to play cost hundreds of dollars and would be extremely difficult to get.
>Square acknowledges that SD3 is a thing, as shown by an event in one of their mobile games
>Releases a fucking secret of mana remake instead of actually giving SD3 a release in the west
one of the few games i've actually emulated
Give me one reason why I shouldn't emulate games
>download rom and emulator
>Company gets $0
>I lose $0
>purchase used console and game on Amazon
>Company gets $0
>I lose money
