Is that focus camera shot really in the movie? It looks fucking ridiculous.
You're crazy. The movie needed some silent scares. The startling sounds that accompanied the "scary" parts were insufferable.
Not in the cinema with the sounds it doesn't. Good movie.
It makes more sense in context
yeah
it needed more subtlety but it doesn't make it a bad film in the slightest
His new actor is really good but he needed more moments of just being sinister instead of screaming at the camera.
Yes, and it is that bad.
>hurr why do pennywise the dancing clown dance
it worked in context, it was meant to be really weird and offputting since he was trying to wig out Bev
Nah, the rushed and muddy plot made it a bad film
>Muh what do you expect the book is gorillion pages
That's a creative problem and they failed. 6/10
It doesn't considering he can bend your e tire perception of reality. They relied so much on the spooooopy clown! gag its like they put down the book and forgot how terrifying IT can be. But that's Hollywood, no risks taken.
>red letter media makes my opinions for me
Well no it obviously didn't work since She has to resort to using Her deadlights because Bev refuses to get scared. Regardless, I think it still worked effectively as a scene because it was extremely odd and offputting, which matched the tone of a lot of other things She did throughout the film
/dance
>she
>her
excuse me
He had plenty of those moments though. The first time they enter his house was a great scene through and through.
Not that guy but you don't know all of what's up quite yet
>that fucking bit where he unpacks himself from the fridge and walks over to eddie in a really fucking weird way
that was some webm worthy shit
Don't go assuming xers gender.
No really, don't.
Did that Red Letter Media opinion taste as good coming out as it did coming down?
I could go for the low-hanging fruit and say CD-i Zelda but I'll go for something a little less obvious instead.
That's not actually Garry's Mod or SFM, that's a screenshot from the game itself.
So are these kind of shots where the camera stays on one part of the characters body as it moves called "Focus" shots?
>loud noise, monster comes at you, fast thing happens
WHOA hehe spooked ya didn't I? :) I'm bad and gonna kill you ya kno-
>loud noise, monster comes at you, fast thing happens
HEHE tricked ya again!!
jesus christ you RLMdrones are pathetic
>RLM at it again
this. this is why youtube personalities are cancer. If I wanted their opinion I would watch their video. Instead everyone just parrots shit.
I've not seen it. All I want to know is:
Gangbang?
>RLM said it and they're popular so I don't have to pay attention, spooky loud clown man is fun :)! CLANG!
>did they depict a bunch of 11 year olds having sex with each other?
of course not you fucking sperg
Tracking shots I think.
I'm not RLM shitter but what's wrong in using someone elses opinions when you think the same but just word it the same?
Stephen King sure is a strange man.
That's a simple zoom. That the face is staying so still is not meant to be a trick of the camera, it's meant to be the scary monster.
we needed more scenes like the Georgie scene
He's talking about the fact that the camera is bouncing along with the head, and wondering what those kinds of shots are called.
Because many people reflect their opinions and I am an individual so I have to fight back against that fact to prove my superiority. It cannot possibly be that they have a point, it's just the conformists being normies, unlike me, the special one that no one truly understands.
It was the 80's King. Bunch of coke, a typewriter, and you end up with thousands of fucked up pages.
Oblivion
Is the camera bouncing with the head? I haven't seen the movie but I thought the reason it's supposed to be scary is because he's dancing around like a maniac and yet his head maintains it's position like a bird and he's staring straight at the girl.
In any case, that's almost certainly a CG composite and not something achieved with a single camera shot.
Take a look at the OP webm, the camera is very clearly moving along with the head. It's usually done in post, but it's not a composite shot or anything like that. You can see shitty versions of tracking shots in many idubbbz videos
>if you share opinions, you're just a conformists who can't think for themselves aka a sheep
>if you try to have your own opinion/be contrarian then you're just a special snowflake/attention whore and need to have your 'fedora' knocked off
Then again, it's just someones opinion for thinking you're a conformist just because you share a common opinion with someone else and if they care that much then they're probably autistic.
I thought the stage he was on was meant to be rocking around because of his dancing.
>it's not a composite shot or anything like that
It's not exactly the best quality but I will bet your life that the head and the dancing were filmed separately and then were composited and touched up with CG.
In my opinion, you are a gay fag. What now?
The irony
It's sad that you have the same opinion, whether you came up with it or not. I've been on many Sup Forums threads about IT and other movies where RLM hasn't done a review yet, and everyone has unique and interesting things to say usually. The Red Letter Media drones come out like a swarm repeating exactly what they say after a review releases. I find it intellectually disgusting, MY FAVORITE YOUTUBE REVIEWERS THINK EXACTLY LIKE ME.
You don't need to composite anything to get that shot though. You only need to place a point and instruct whatever editing program you're using to follow the point. It's very simple, just place the point on Pennywise forehead and the computer will do all the work for you.
I'm not saying that all do it.
I disliked the loud noises accompanying every scare too but then RLM had the same opinion in their review. So I can't express that opinion online anymore.
post the rwby webm of one of the characters running on a rooftop
why
That's your opinion user, you're also a gay faggot.
It's IT through a shitty Conjouring lens for babies. It's terrible.
I've never watched any RLM videos, I've heard of them, but not sure what their "thing" is.
I dislike audio cues telling me when to be scared. They can be fine, but you limit your ability to build atmosphere if you are constantly pushing it to the maximum.
Man even if I agree with you to an extent the fucking RLM in this post is nauseating
They basically just kept the head 'still' while the body moved. People do the same trick in gifs and shit
Video games
The point was it's not a composite shot the like the other user thought. It's an extremely simple edit.
Why are anons in this thread acting like RLM are the only ones to have ever brought up the issue with loud/annoying jumpscares in movies?
Pretty sure RLM isn't the only eceleb group Sup Forums circlejerks over. Chris Stuckmann and Cinemassacre pop up too.
RLM acts like they know what makes a good horror movie and what IT should have been. First of all, RLM does not know what makes a horror movie good, every movie they make is shit awful, sometimes on "purpose". Second, IT isn't a story about a subtle demon spider looming over kids trying to make atmospheric lingering horror like a ghost. IT is an in-your-face, loud, and consistently taunting demon spider that needs to draw kids into his sewer lair for survival.
>every movie they make is shit awful, sometimes on "purpose".
What does this have to do with anything you just said?
I still prefer the Curry version. There's no way anyone could properly adapt the book but the surreal visual of the bright and vibrant Pennywise set against a consistently drab and washed out environment had a subtle sort of uncanny attribute. The cheap comedy combined with the almost pedo creep and the Willy Wonka-like happiness of the Pennywise design just fits.
This version just has everything desaturated and only uses the color red or yellow as a highlight. They try too hard to make him spooky or creepy and it ends up making everything super goofy.
They don't know what makes a good horror movie, because if they did their horror movies wouldn't be so horrible.
I saw the half in the bag too! I clapped because you referenced something I saw!!
Easily my favorite single scene, at least up until the part where he doesn't eat the kid despite said kid flipping the fuck out. The rule breaking here is hard to give a pass to. That really broke the immersion for me because the creative team obviously didn't wanna risk It physically hurting the kids too often. The only three instances I can think of: the broken arm (which wasn't even It, just a fall), the scratch on fatso, and the pussy Jew getting bit. There was genuinely more violence against the kids by other fucking humans than by It.
Considering all the fat they trimmed from the book, like the space turtle, the macroverse, the ritual to get into the brain of the space spider, the nebulous reason to shoehorn an underage orgy, nor the constant back and forth between idiot adults that hum and haw around a town for no reason and kids having an adventure, they did a pretty good job salvaging a story off of that fucking cocaine induced mess of a book.
I can't drive, but that doesn't mean I can't recognise a bad driver.
PC FPS-derived "melee" games look like absolute garbage at all times:
>Chivalry.
>Skyrim.
>M&B.
>Dark Messiah.
On top of that, they all suffer from slippery and floaty combat.
Zero Time Dilemma
He preferred to take the clown form, but he took a ton of different forms.
Also out of all the forms he took in the book; wolfman, swamp thing, Frankenstein, and dracula, clown is the scariest when translated visually.
This.
You can't recognize what makes a driver good though.
I feel they did a pretty good job of making It unnerving in the Georgie scene and I had very high hopes moving forward.
Instead, the rest of his appearances are shock factor at best (such as his waving of the detached arm), pointlessly weird shit at worst. The acting, writing, and salivating in the Georgie scene were splendid. Everything about the way he talks, moves his eyes, zones out, smiles... all of it fits the idea of luring children in. It's a shame that's about the only time It really shines as a potentially inviting but not quite right... thing.
Touche.
See, that scene just made me laugh because all of a sudden Pennywise was doing an Ultros face.
I think the only reason he didn't eat Stan (I think?) was because he sensed the other kids had overcome their fear of him, and that shook him hard
It does when you say that person is a bad driver for honking instead of using hand signals. Like how RLM said IT is a bad horror movie for having loud noises instead of being subtle with its scares. The story of IT isn't subtle and neither is Stephen King, the 2 monkeys that apperantly read the book should have known what to expect, instead they complain about a non issue the whole review instead of actually reviewing it. they are casual reviews, and their viewers eat their shit opinions and spit all over this fucking website like it's the word of god.

To be fair, Sup Forums's had this problem for years. People regurgitate anything that seems remotely articulate and presented in a way that caters to their cynicism, even if the critique is of something they've never played or watched.
It's why I rarely give a fuck about Sup Forums in particular. It sometimes reads like the Huffpost or Breitbart of gaming
A lot of poser opinions, you are right. Reminds me of kids who acted like they knew how to skate, but you find out they couldn't skate and they only knew some of the skateing terminology from watching Viva La Bam.
