WE ARE THE MARTIANS

THE BUTT UGLY MARTIANS

>WHAT WERE THEY THINKING

>How can we sell games to more people and not pander to a few autists who will never be happy.

There a mod to silence them yet?

You do realise that the Chosen are humans that the Elders have buffed up, right? They're what the Elders hoped to turn humanity into in order to fight Cthulhu.

first post best fucking post

...

Who wins?

that I couldnt fuck her
she thicc

>too much of a pussy to be able to rape them early on

Assassin is the hardest. The sniper is easy to beat but has a good weapon. Warlock is annoying but not too much of a problem due to explosive weakness.

>due to explosive weakness
that's RNG

Nice concept but they were too weak
they don't scale into the late game at all

The Chosen are cute, CUTE!

what's wrong user?

Their weaknesses are random? My Assassin was immune to overwatch, was essentially unbeatable unless you had loads of Rangers, loads of Battlescanners or were willing to get an injured dude and thus no Flawless.

>playing game
>enjoying it
>beat the second assassin
nice, can't wait to do the third
>realize i have no research left
>final mission is now ready
o-oh alright.
>do final mission, warlock is left so he comes up.
>kill him from four characters on overwatch

i'm typically aware if i've become overpowered in games, but this snuck up on me like nothing i've seen before. a big buzz kill. you realize how little content is actually in a $40 expansion pack. each chosen assassination mission being the same is pretty fucking lazy by the way.

thank god i pirated it. can't wait for long war 2

weakness and strengths are random
the only exception is if your campaign uses the Lost and Abandoned mission, which always gives the Assassin overwatch immunity

the weakness are random/bonus are random
easiest way to kill assassin is just rush a stalker up with the perk that any enemy they see will remain visable they honestly aren't even hard

They shouldn't be alive in late game. I researched everything in the game. Even if I didn't need it. It took me 25 days to get Magnetic Rifles and I soon after got the Assassin done. Average research is like 90 days for Magnetic. It took me like 200 or so to get Plasma and the average is 120 or something. That's because there's no real need for Plasma if you have all the Chosen weapons by then.

Don't you think you should buy Jake's game user?

Fuck off Jake.

if you have Lost and Abandoned active, Assassin always has weak to Reapers and Shadowstep, but it's otherwise completely random

Oh I had the Lost and Abandoned missions, I think. The zombie Lost things. That's fucking hilarious, I thought it was bullshit. They're not hard, but she ruins Flawless unless you're lucky. As for the Spotted thing, yeah that's a great skill to get, but you need to spot them first.

>we live in the timeline where all the bad guys are Hillary-esque cartoons

Sure, let me just start with a major rank soldier.

>Encounter the warlock
>When he dies, I get the red screen and the turn doesn't end no matter what I do
>The game is stuck and unplayable

>Hillary-esque
what the fuck

By Lost and Abandoned I mean the scripted story mission with Mox and Elena. You can disable it before you start new campaigns and it makes things truly random.

>90 Days for magnetic
49 days according to the current average as of a day ago.

Also I fucked the pooch on powered armor hard.

Ive gotten this so many time + everytime I try to melee with a ranger and templar it hits a different target

someone post a side-by-side comparison

VIRGINIA

on Legendary you nonce

Why does XCOM 2 feel so underwhelming overall? It didn't grab me the same way XCOM 1 did.

Oh ok.
My Psi powers are on the fritz so I didn't read that part of your mind.

your soldiers turn into superheroes once you hit late-game, and difficulty takes a steep nosedive if you can get through early-game

Truly great DLC but i somehow disabled all others DLC and i have no bosses or weapon from them, sad.

You already know what to expect, first was something "new".

I never really got to that point because I just became bored with the game in general.

I with we had XCOM:EU but with a early/mid 20th century setting to it like that FPS was going to be.

Fuck it, I wish the original idea for the FPS was made, that shit was dope.

>You will never teach her this human concept called love and gently peel her sweaty and ripe body out of her suit and make sweet love to her with the sound of the Avenger's engines thrum in the background, finally climaxing and filling her hot ayyhole with meld
JAKE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME

Anyone who insults daddy is hillary-esque and a cuck.

Long War 2 compatibility when? i'm tired of having to kill everybody every single mission

the Chosen insult the God-Emperor?

What?

It sucks nobody’s made porn of her yet.

you're talking about what became The Bureau and that was awful

I got close range weakness on one of them and then he got immune to melee attacks.

What the hell are you even talking about

youtube.com/watch?v=6CYIu8Bc9sY

that's when you stick a shotgun with a laser sight in his face and one-shot him

I pre-ordered WotC on PS4 so I will play it tomorrow, but am I missing anything if I don't have any of the other DLCs? I'm confused because I heard there are these three recurring boss aliens that show up because of Dr. Vahlen fucking with their DNA. Is that WotC or some other DLC?

Also what does WotC change in the base game. EW felt like a noticeable change from EU, but I'm hearing WotC isn't that different from the base game.

What were the avatars then?

The snake aliens are way cuter.

Super Saiyan bodies for the Elders.

Human vessels for the elders no?
They don't have actual bodies

I know, I mean The Bureau BEFORE it became a mediocre Third Person Shooter.

youtube.com/watch?v=MHGvNW4fhhI

Basically being a MIB and Alien Hunting in quiet 1950s suburbia. Shit could have been cash.

>EXALT voicepack isn't in WotC yet
Fug
>Is that WotC or some other DLC?
That's Alien Rulers DLC.
>EW felt like a noticeable change from EU, but I'm hearing WotC isn't that different from the base game.
I'd say WotC adds more than EW did, what with factions and new enemies and missions and all that jazz.
You'll be lacking MEC/SHIV equivalents without Shen's Last Gift, though.

>but I'm hearing WotC isn't that different from the base game.
Must be listening to some salty cunts then.
It adds a fatigue mechanic that means you actually need a large roster. Also adds negative traits like darkest dungeon
And it adds soldier bonds
And the boss chosen who fuck with you on the tactical and strategic layers.
And tons of new missions types
And the photobooth
And the photobooth
And Cover Operations
Which is all tied into the new factions and faction orders
and the three new classes
And the three new enemies
And the Lost zombies
And the training center and the new point systme for picking up perks

tldr: bigger than EW, xcom2 and wotc play very differently

I don't think changing the perspective would've made The Bureau any better

Sooo which is better- chosen, or avatar?
What's wrong with their old bodies if they aren't going to fight Cthulhu with the new ones?

The setting and story was completely different user, not so much the perspective.

their old bodies are literally dying, Avatars are their last-ditch effort to preserve their consciousness in a more survivable body

Chosen are simply buffed up humans. Avatars are the containers for the Elders. Elders' own physical bodies are weak and are basically in life support.

For me the original first iteration was less perspective and more atmosphere. More creeping, dreading, slow paces levels with wee woo alien 1950s b movie music in the background.

Think Destroy all Humans minus the comedy.

Im so sorry people didn't like The Bureau...it was so enjoyable for me. I just really liked the setting and the combat. It really felt like a nice game. Every time i see someone complain about it i remember the giant UFO getting shot down and the sectopods blowing up

Why not just grow new Elder bodies?
Why have two variants of suped-up humans?
Are they just tired of the purple skin & want glowing hair for a change?

Did they build on the cthulhu enemy? Get any more info on what they are?

But... They were already human once.

>That's Alien Rulers DLC.

I'm glad I don't have it then, they sound annoying. And MECs were cool, but between Psi-soldiers and the other classes they were just extra anyway. SHIVs were shit so good riddance.

That is a lot.

Just set up terror from the deep as the xcom 3 backdrop.

Exactly.

Didn't the original Xcom2 do that at the ending cinematic? Was it more spooky undersea psi-goo?

because Elder bodies are shit and human bodies are better

Chosen are implied to be prototype Avatars anyway

Yeah, fuck Jake. But user, you should come over and...
buy my game

wait wait wait? is Xcom also went for that "We are evil but we were preprearing you to fight a greater evil." route just like Extended Universe Palpatine and Burning Legion?

a big ol' psi-beacon shooting up out of the ocean and the Templars saying "time to get ready for the real enemy"

So Avatar>Chosen?

Elder bodies are inherently wery weak. Avatar is a body that's both physically stronk and powerful psionically. It's also not exactly human body.

Chosen are just more stronger alien foot soldiers since all of avent are made from humans with Alien DNA added into there genetic code

>SHIVs were shit
you motherfucker

Nah the chosen are more dangerous than the avatar.

We don't know that yet.
And no, the Elders are still cunts.

Neatos, thanks. I'm still expecting the enemy to not be TFTD underwater but rather be improved lovecraftian Apocalyspe horrors.

Improved in the sense of not being Xcom Apocalypse enemies.

X-com did that 20 years ago with Apocalypse

Avatar>Chosen of course since
Elders>everyone

Maybe they already transfer their minds into cloned bodies, and after so many iterations that process is breaking down. Or maybe something about their physiology makes transferring into it impossible.

And the Chosen are meant just to be another slave species.

fuck that takes me back

Chosen are not exactly slaves.

Yeah, a mix of TFtD and Apocalypse is what I'm expecting for Xcom 3.

Why would they want a stronk body?
Don't need to be stronk with mind powers. And humans have fewer arms.
And they/we really aren't that strong anyway.

Sounds like a downgrade.

They kind of exactly are.

Mission Accomplished.

Their bodies are so weak that only their psionic abilities keep them alive, and their forms continue to atrophy. They need new bodies or they all die.

Only Warlock shows retarded amounts of obedience.
Yeah why would a race that can't even move physically and are slowly (and then rapidly) fucking dying want new fucking bodies?

But the replacement bodies DON'T EVEN FLOAT

What the fuck kind of plebeian ethereal would stoop to walking his own ass?

Walking and living is much superior to floating and dying.

Humanity combined could not beat 1 Elder at peak
Earth isn't the only planet the aliens took over looking for a species with DNA compatable with theres its too late for them now there bodies are fading fast

>ayy lmao why would I want to be STRONG and BE ABLE TO BE PHYSICALY RESILIENT when I can instead be STRONG and DIE FROM PISTOL FIRE OR SPACE AIDS OR A HARSH BREEZE

They are on psionic life support and we got muscle to boot, including a relatively easy reproductive cycle and good traits, the chosen would be beyond fucking stupid to not want altered human bodies to merge with.

not yet, anyway

>WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
They were thinking of not pandering to pathetic beta permavirgin cucks.
