You're thinking of attributes, skyrim had skills just less than any other TES game before it.

Differences in weapons, so maces/axes/swords are essentially skins without even their token differences.

I know exactly what the next tier will be. It will hybridize the moba fps shooter and cutscene cinematic linear corridor into one gigantic fuck you.
There will be 3 main abilities, one set for each race, no visible stats. Gear improves the main abilities, and leveling up improves HP. No Mana or Stamina, it's all flat cooldowns, possibly improved by gear. Then you will have 1 ultimate, which you get at a late level, and only legendary gear can improve. DLC gear allows you to swap abilities and ultimates for those of other races. You must also purchase plushies (bethesda amiibo) to unlock certaib gear and difficulty levels and achievements.
All areas are large empty fields, (one big corridor) fenced in by walls, with a single town and dungeon, and if you head in a direction other than a quest marker you will lose control of your character and it will go back. Just like in fucking Horizon zero reason to buy. Only paid mods will work on the game, from the Bethesda CC.

It could be Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Warrior Edition or Mage Edition or Thief Edition, but we'll call them Companions, Wizard's college, and Dark Brotherhood editions. All offensive magics fall under attack and all previous non combat skills are just utilities.
Remove ammunition of any kind; bows come with infinite arrows.
Offensive magic spells don't use mana since you can enchant fortify destruction to 100% in Skyrim easily anyway, so why make the player go through the trouble of doing that.

Them being expensive is also stupid since they take less materials and effort to make aside from javelins I guess. Dead island does it pretty well as long as you play as the character who has skills for it. The metro games have throwing knifes that work well. Payday 2 does it well, but it feels shallow in comparison to the other examples. Hotline Miami does it well. Warframe kinda does it well.
