>>SEQUEL NEVER
>mfw Capcom have a 5 year DD anniversary thing at TGS but it's just with the DDO people
Where's fucking Itsuno, wasn't he supposed to announce a game this year?

We had two full threads yesterday. I guess it's just slow

Why Sup Forums praise this game?

SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT THE SEQUEL ITS NEVER HAPPENING

Because its an over-the-top action-WRPG which tried something different. It didn't succeed in everything it tried, but it tried to at least innovate.

You think they are taking their time working on it to get everything in it that they cut from the first game?

No, they're spending money on MHW instead

Well, that still looks fun so I don't mind.

youtube.com/watch?v=TTj14ixZ6RM
yep never :^)

WHY THE FUCK DO I NEVER SEE PLAYER MADE PAWNS ANYWHERE EVEN THOUGH I'M ONLINE?

Go into options and check if you're actually online.

I need this game to be reworked into Dragon's Dogma 2. It looked great.

Number one game in making you really want to play the same game but in better

I am. I don't know what to do, am I banned or something?

It definitely has some of the most wasted potential I've seen in a video game. It was on track to being a better BotW. It even had a hang glider in early concepts.

Play DDO. It can absolutely be played as a solo game with pawns(warrior and/or hunter pawns are required) and I can guarantee the new classes are all 100% more fun than the old classes.

Don't you need a vpn or some shit? Will my connection be utter shit if I only have 10 megabits?

It looks like a Dark Souls-like Soulslite.

There's a work around where you can disable the VPN after logging in and just use an IP mask.
>Will my connection be utter shit if I only have 10 megabits?
Probably not, and having a decent connection isn't necessary if you play solo.

Those are the sickest looking mimics I've ever seen.

Is this the pc version of Dragons Dogma?

It was definitely going to be but last we've heard they were completely reworking it. It hasn't been officially announced to be canceled so I hold onto my hope.
It looks like they had already put in a lot of work so I don't believe they'd just scrap it and waste money and hours of labor.

Everybody is either playing PUBG, DOTA 2, or CS GO. PC gaming is on the way out and it doesn't feel good.

Post Arisen

It's Deep Down
It was announced as a Ps4 launch title I believe but it completely disappeared and Capcom hasn't said a word on it in years. It was initially a free to play online multiplayer dungeon crawler but the last thing they said sort of implies that was no longer the case.

That footage is from this game called Deep Down which appeared once or twice a few years ago in some teasers but hasn't turned up since

pretty shitty pic.

Yeah, not smart to take a screenshot in BBI without a lantern

...

>always at work when it's Arisen postan time
>by the time I get home thread is dead or on its way out
I wanna break this cycle

Have you tried accessing the Rift? Additionally, are you level 200? Do you have no friends or pawns marked as favorites?

Simmer down, Ashe, i'm sure the thread will survive

It's funny how Valve gets credited for "saving" a PC gaming that did not need it, but in the end has probably done more to kill the platform than any other company, save maybe MS.

Agree with the game took chances, and while the end result is kind of a mess, it's a beautiful mess. What one likes out of it may from another though.

To some it's the end-game high level heroic play that makes the game.
To me the it of the game was the low level, vulnerable time and I wish the game had been more focused on that.

But anyway, if you don't mind playing something fucked for seeing different, interesting results, it's definitely worth a try.

Really? I don't remember ever seeing that chest monster. Man, that game was the only thing that really got me hyped about the PS4 even though it was some F2P game. I really hope Capcom doesn't Let It Die.

I'm level 200, can access the rift normally have some friends who also play the game and a few pawns marked as favorite. My friends pawns show up in the rift and outside on occasion, but I never see any other player made pawn showing up in the rift or outside.

Oh, that's just the max level curse - it happens to everybody once they reach 200. You wanna see random online pawns wandering around? Well, tough luck, fag. Outside of the Encampment, I don't think you'll find any.

Well that's fucking gay. Why was that even a design decision to begin with?

Here's a new question:

For those who get the game again next month, when you start a new game what build will you be playing if you intend to do a specific one?

I remember seeing a few good guides for specific builds but, too lazy to go find them again, pretty sure they were on gamefaqs at least though.

>Why was that even a design decision to begin with?
It's not a design choice it's just that no one bothers reaching max level. I'm pretty sure only pawns around your level would pop up and not many people are at your level.

>what build will you be playing if you intend to do a specific one?
You mean vocations?
That's a tough question because I find them all worth playing except Mage. I haven't done Warrior since vanilla though so I might go with that.

Post your arisen/pawns

This one is outdated but it's all I have atm

You look like a crusader with their mage descending into the depths of hell to smite the demons/10.

>Mimics in Deep Down have assholes

Huh.

Well, you know they do eat people. They would need to excrete the stuff that wasn't digested.

>played a pirated version of the game for a decent amount of time, loved it
>try playing again after buying it, cannot even get to Gran Soren before quitting
What happened?

I mean your stat builds

/ fetches one of the guides

gamefaqs.com/boards/626515-dragons-dogma/66155113

Granted its also fun to just do whatever but doing something particular might be interesting too.

Last time I played the game I went with a full sorcerer arisen with a fighter pawn. Next time I might try a 'both arisen and pawn share vocations so the pawn can learn faster' thing.

Or a 'almost maxed stats' arisen or such.

Well the chest is basically just the mouth, so where's the digestive tract?

It's just for sweaty mimic sex, isn't it?

It's the worst part of the game. I love DD but it's one of the worst games to start a new game in. You just gotta suck it up and kick that bison.

>They even thought of how mimcs may have full reproductive system to thrive as a species.

God dang.

It's just the hump, bro.

Once you reach Gran Soren switch to a better vocation and you'll be fine.

Or you could see bitter black isles island girl at level 10, if you wish to swap class.

Which vocation is the least painful to start with? I couldn't decide whether to go with Ranger or Warrior (I think those are the names don't crucify me if not it's been a while)

It was probably an oversight, much like searching for level ∞ pawns yields pre-made, ownerless goons only. Player made ones, including those at max level, only appear in the Rift if one searches for level 199 pawns.

>tfw no DD2

Basically anything hybrid, aside from Magick Archer maybe. Assassin if you wanna switch between Dagger / Bow and Sword 'n Board, and Mystic Knight if you wanna play something melee with a bit of magic use. Anything that lets you mix up the playstyle a bit every now and then.

And it hasn't been fixed yet? That's even gayer.

stop making me want to reinstall this, you shitlords

Is there a mod that changes postgame sky back?

I mean before I get to Gran Soren to change

We can only hope some company makes some sort of spiritual successor to continue the cycle.

I actually like post game sky, but after a while the darkness gets boring. Also the sky has no variety
>Green and dark day
>red and dark night

It would be cool if we could have brighter and fucked up skies.

I've yet to play the game on PC, but I'm going to assume it hasn't. None of the other oversights have.

We just want you to have fun user.

I'd love for there to be weather effects like storms, snow and rain and for these to have an effect on monsters.

I prefer rolling green hills to the drab of postgame though.

Yeah, but I think that was kind of the point of the post game. The sky is shattered. But the darkness is really frustrating.

They originally planned to have weather effects, but they got cut.

>yfw they just shove all the cut Dragon's Dogma content into Monster Hunter

>try to make a cute girl PC
>every time her face looks worse than it did when in character creation
I should just make a dude desu

...

Doesn't really matter. Strider is probably easier, since you don't have to climb onto the hydra or the cyclops and you get some extra stamina when leveling.

I've found always using a small nose helps. Also make minimal changes. Craft slowly.

You won't get the super one's you see online, but you'll get something good.

Characters usually look worse in game due to the change in lighting.

Think I'm one of the few people who doesn't mind the beginning. Cassardis always strikes a cord with me, and I usually end up traveling back just to hang out.

>No option to pick up a fishing rod and go fishing
>Have your own house but can't actually do anything in it, not even sleep

Feels bad.

The player character has very little personality.
However I think it's a psychological trick they use on themselves to keep pushing them into the world.

They are on a constant journey, so they can only rest at inns. They only return there in the post-game because they completed the main objective. Just for a little respite and fun.

But refusing to sleep in their own bed pushes them forward.

>>But refusing to sleep in their own bed pushes them forward.

Stop explaining things in ways I never even considered.

It's the "wind" that pushes them user. So they can become the dangan.

...

It helps if you do all the early game quests. Exploring the well and going to witchwood early on usually gets me in the mood.

>Young child emperor of the not aztecs.

...

>warriors

The hell are they gonna do to Matt Daimon-kun v2?

Smack him with the hilt a billion times I imagine.

Most recent Arisen I played as. I felt like playing with an older couple.

>Experienced adventurer party, while dressed finely know what they are doing.
>They've seen enough of this shit, but they have one final quest to fulfill for the king.

Is it just me or did DD get insanely popular in the last like 5 months? /ddg/ died less than a year ago but now there are daily threads on Sup Forums?

What the fuck is going on?

Hype for the latest release and desperate hope for a sequel announcement.

Current gen re-release brought in new blood as well as people who bought it a third time.

I felt like playing as an elderly woman, not many games let you.

Fair enough, it's one of the reasons I like Elder scrolls so much.

I did enjoy Oblivion and Skyrim, but 1st person doesn't let me appreciate my character as well, and 3rd person feels wrong. Replaying Mass Effectas an older woman might be fun.

>downloading this again to replay

Fuck you all. God damn it.

Interest in games comes and goes in waves. The hallmark of good viddy is getting new players so interested that they spur discussion, which in turn gets more players who spur new discussion.

>climb onto a big monster
>mash attack until it dies or you get thrown off
>repeat
This game just looks like shit. Am I missing something?

The combat in DD is far superior. I will be super happy if ES 6 is clones the combat from Dragon's Dogma.

I don't think they'll make such a smart decision.

I've been making threads every day

Try other vocations, magic archers bounce arrows are tons of fun.

I know but a man can dream. Just like we all dream for DD 2.

Because of its beautiful potential. The game gets slack because it's the either the first in a series, or a one-off. It did so many things right that other Action-Adventure/RPGs fail to do after decades of trying, namely having actual decent combat and variety. Also the score was amazing, and sealed the deal on so many of the games climactic moments.
Came for the gameplay, stayed for the tragedy.
>tfw thought BotW might soothe my aching for DD2
