So... which one was the best 3DS Fire Emblem Game?

I'm gonna go with Awakening > Echoes > Conquest > Birthright

Awakening was my first FE game and i loved it, played it for over 100 hours.
Fates was kinda meh, i never finished Birthright or Conquest, the story was just too bad and the kid mechanic felt completely out of place in the game, at leat they tried to justify it in Awakening but plot-wise it's completely broken on Fates, plus most of the kids are just rehashes of Awakening.

Echoes voice acting, dialogue and overall presentation was top notch.

I played them all on Hard/Casual but still restarting every time one of my units died.

Never tried Lunatic, only in Awakening and it was basically turtle and use Freddy over and over so it felt broken, i'm not nearly autistic enough to research growth rates, "optimal pairings" and stuff like that, i just grind a little bit in between chapters and the difficulty on hard felt good.

I'm guessing i'm a filthy casual but there's just too many games and my backlog is too big to really try Lunatic on any FE game.

Even if you liked Awakening OP, I applaud you for completely omitting Revelations. Excellent choice there.

Echoes (best presentation and voice acting, ok story, shit maps)
Awakening (it was ok all around, I like the story the most out of the 3DS FEs)
Birthright (very easy and bland)

Echoes and Awakening are the only ones worth playing.

Fate has a whole had the best music. Conquest had the best gameplay, but second worst story. Birthright was fun but a little bland character and story wise. Revelation was annoying gimmicks and the worst story.
Shadows was fun and had the best plot of the 5, and the best set of characters.It improves on Gaiden's gameplay, but the maps still suck. Story is is between good and ok.
Awakening story starts good, then falls off alot. Pair up was introduced, and while a good concept, was not implemented well, and most of the maps were only average to ok. Most characters were good.

Fates had my favorite game mechanics out of the lot by far, with improved Pair Up, interesting classes like ninjas, reclassing based on S and A+ supports that wasn't as extreme as Awakening, etc. I even had fun in Birthright trying out different characters and sets. I did enjoy Echoes, but I didn't think it was as good as Fates, nor did I get as much overall enjoyment as from Awakening.

Conquest > Awakening >= Birthright > Echoes

Virion is one of the worst Archer units of all FE tittles.

I'm talking about in Fates, archers are strong as hell there.

Gaiden was the worst FE, and the remakes don't change that. The only people who actually prefer it to the other 3DS entries are plotfags since the gameplay manages to be even worse than Birthrout and Awakening.

Echoes has become my favorite FE, I do like revelations though for the whole "unite the kingdoms (by marriage)" thing but Awakening was better, Conquest was fun but dragged, I haven't even touched birthright.

My feelings are kind of split between Awakening, Conquest, and Echoes, as they each do something right but fuck up in other important areas so that I can't really consider one objectively better over the others. None of the three manage to be as enjoyable to me as most previous games, though.

Eh it has some amazing tracks no doubt but stuff like that is played like once. Throughout most of the game your going to hear the same 3 tracks. So it would say music is one of its high points.

Echoes was very good on a presentation level, but followed the originals too tight in a lot of areas like maps, though I wouldn't consider that to be outright bad or enough for it to be worse than say Conquest or Awakening, just tedious or boring. I actually find it to be the only game I would actually revisit if I had the time.

Conquest had great map design and great gameplay which improved a lot from Awakening but fucking god awful everything else, wouldn't normally care but it was so bad that it actively brought the game down for me. Still had fun with it.

Awakening had okay to decent everything, I can excuse a lot of it because it could have been the last game but it has largely been overshadowed by Fates and Echoes in certain areas.

Birthright and Revelations were just shit, didn't enjoy them at all.

Conquest is the best one since it has the best gameplay. I don't care about FE plot. I have never cared about the plot, nor the characters besides their stats. I beat FE6-9 as well and I don't have any idea what the stories are, because I would just skip it every time. 6 is my favorite FE and even then I don't know what it's about, besides Gonzales being a pedophile.

Echoes has the best overall presentation, with gameplay that actually ties into the story.

Awakening is a decent enough game, but the story leaves a lot to be desired as a sendoff and the gameplay lacked much variety.

Fates was the worst, bar none. The story dragged things down, and I don't just mean the plot they stole wholesale from Thracia. I don't really care if Conquest technically has hard gameplay, what I want to know is WHY does the overwhelmingly powerful kingdom have such a hard time? It would make far more sense for Birthright to be the hard mode. This doesn't even get into the inanity that was Revelations.

I'm curious as to why you continue to play this series over better strategy games if you don't care about the characters at all.

I liked Echoes a lot, felt like some strange FE with simplified SMT dungeons.
Couldn't really get into Fates or Awakening, I disliked the artist and the only reason I was even interested was Grima, although there was at least one good map that was better than Echoes (which was a bit TOO much like fighting actual fodder filled armies), a defend map from one of the Fates games, but that just made me want to play RD and try to steal the Bolting on Elincia's Gambit.

Only the Cipher character pack, they're voiced, appear in towns, and are generally pretty good units.
Otherwise it's mostly worthless grinding/overpower shit that you're better off without or small side story maps that you can find the dialogue online with.
