So how hyped are you for 北斗が如く?

So how hyped are you for 北斗が如く?

A lot. I love beat em ups and Yakuza director is literally 10/10. I just hope they avoid adding too much gore and unnecessary violence to appeal to edgy teens

It won't happen
SEGA never make cero-Z games

The cero-z (21+) games are bullshit though.
Every single publisher pay the boarding regulation to get their games at D (Mature 17) and they never go to Z

Yes. If it doesnt get localized i will be sad. Heres hoping for a western release.
Isnt that just an ESRB M equivalent?

I'm pretty excited. My only pet-peeve is that Kenshiro's voice seems a little off. His deep voice is fine but his "ata's" don't seem high-pitched enough. At least not when compared to the original anime or the guy that voiced him in J-stars and Ken's rage. Minor thing though but still.

YOU は SHOCK

Why not?

Because the time and effort that i would have to put in would not be worth the end result, which in my case would be to play the oddball game or two that doesnt make it overseas.

shindeiru

Are you sure? Look back at all those Japanese-only games. I'm sure at least a few interest you. You'd gain a broader cultural worldview, too.

And you could enjoy a nice stay in Japan, far more than if you just know English.

Maybe, but gaming is only one of my hobbies. I have plenty more that take up what little time i have between work and family.
Even though i would like to, i have no intention of traveling out of country.

Have you ever been to Hawaii?

No.

Guy I knew learnt Japan to go visit (because he's a massive weab) and apparently all the professional people (hoterliers and the like) he dealt with spoke english anyways

Very true. You don't need Japanese as a tourist. But with it you can enjoy everything more. You might even get access to some soaplands that normally turn foreigners away.

>learn Japanese for few years
>now I can watch anime without sub
>play Yakuza without sub
>I have absolutely no idea what they're saying
the fuck?
anime Japanese and thug Japanese are different things?

Damn, this must be what peak DJT is like.

Yeah i am

Always wondered if a yakuza style game in a sci fi/dystopian environment would work, i guess this is the answer

There's a lot of Japanese there. You might be surprised.

>be oldfag
>watched fansubs of this in the late 80s
>did both judo and karate as a teenager then
>would always say you are already dead after landing a good strike in sparring or tossing someone to the mat
>people would always ask why I said that everyday I was in the gym
>never had a really good answer because I didn't want to explain how I was watching cheap, low quality VHS tapes of a japanese cartoon

>Yakuza reskin
>post apocalyptic wasteland
>populated towns

why not Souten no ken instead ? Too pussy to go all the way Sega ?

Oh yeah, once you learn Japanese and I mean REALLY learn Japanese, you can notice their accents, their slang, you can actually laugh at their jokes and it's actually funny, you have a lot of shit just coming at you at once. Kansai Dialect is fucking arousing.

Dewa is the closest I can get to a comparison to the USA's southeast in terms of "bumpkins", right?

To be honest, I don't know which region can be pretty "country bumpkin" to reach that comparison. but I would love to find out.

Touhoku, Shikoku

it's just I'd feel a sort of vague kinship with em and if I went to Japan I'd wanna go there instead of Tokyo

Will it be $60?

shaka shaka shaka

There's much to see in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and other touristy destinations.

That said, I get the appeal of going somewhere less typical. I'll be living in Hokkaido in the future so I'm looking forward to discovering it's various corners.

>Dewa
lol
Are you from 18th century?

I mean, were you raised mostly in a country/townside? Then go for it, you'd be surprised at how nostalgic you'd feel despite it being a different country. I was raised near a beach and I want to Hokkaido or maybe Okinawa. Just riding a bike down an empty road to the beach sounds comfy.

Not that user but I'd love to visit Okinawa some day eventhough I don't care for Japan, it just seems like a nice place to cool off plus roam the streets they put in Yakuza 3 just to get that nostalgia.

Very, Ifilled in their survey.

Hopefully it gets localized

Why couldn't Rei just wait on Ken like everyone else. :(

Wondering how the story will be made in this game.
Right now the only problem I have is that the faces in most characters look like shit.

It's just something about comfy beaches or little farms that get to me in Japan.

I've been playing to many VN's I guess.

>old engine

Adding gore and violence would mean staying true to the source material, not "appealing to edgy teens".
>inb4 t.edgy teen

...

>even a man like hasn't run out of tears
the hokuto bros are as manly and stoic as it can possibly get

He obviously never played the older HnK games, they were full of gore.

Ken's Rage had even more gore added in the US release, with enemies exploding into chunks instead of just kinda vanishing in a spray of blood.
