I do but i ain't gonna create a tweet account just for that.
Why would this one be better when rest have been shit?
>implying I trust Microsoft with Shadowrun.
Should've waited to pitch it till CP2077 Comes out and makes cyberpunk seem profitable again.
Can they really afford to literally wait until 2077 though?
The genisis one, Dragonfall, and Hong Kong were all pretty solid.
>le ebin meme reply
Why not? It takes 2 seconds to make a account and you can talk to developers directly
bump
>modern Shadowrun
they have been pitching it for the past 3 years
>Dragonpunk
Weren't those the niggas trying to make an XCOM 2 mod and gave up because they needed/wanted more shekels?
Not me
Hopefully it'll be a multiplayer FPS.
Yeah, I want one. From Harebrained.
> Letting some unknown faggots and Microsoft make another Shadowrun game for the Xbone.
Yeah no. I'm good thanks.
>unknown
This. HBS is made up of people from FASA that created the damn game in the first place, they're the only ones I trust to handle it and Microsoft can fuck right off.
What the fuck has Dragonpunk Games ever made? All I see is a Patron begging for money.
>Megacorps
>Egalitarian
Wew lad.
Do they even understand the setting they're writing for?
oh yeah, I forgot that shadowrun fluff writers are full on that shit now
Oh goodie.
>reading through Data Trails to look at creating a decker that I wouldn't even get to play anyway because I have no friends who are into TTRPGs at all, much less shadowrun
>suddenly have this fucking shit dropped on me
God damn, who thought that shit was worth being published?
>5e
Not even once.
Do yourself a favour. Don't even think about reading the Complete Trog. It's one huge, obnoxious love-letter to Black Lives Matter.
MS co-owns the IP and was sub-licencing it to Hairebrained. It's why there was no console version. Jordan Weismann has said he's been talking with Microsoft about a new Crimson Skies though (He didn't know they were going to use High Road To Revenge to demonstrate the OG Xbox backwards compatibility. That was a surprise). I know Spencer tweeted a few years back that he wanted to tick off an "AAA ShadowRun RPG" as well.
They made some XCOM 2 mods that I never used and probably other shit nobody cares about.
oh what a treat
>tfw when CGL will never die
>FASA will never get their own fucking IP back
Why are we still here?
>implying I Trust Microsoft with anything outside of RTS
>implying I have Twitter acct
I have Dragonfall and returns just havenf gotten into them. Atm I feel weirdly ill.
Noted, omae. I'd probably have ended up cringing myself half to death otherwise.
You wouldn't happen to have any experience with finding games online, would ya? I really need a new hobby, I'm burned on tridya.
>Trusting Microsoft with RTS after they just gave Age of Empires 4 to Relic despite the nuclear shit that was Dawn of War 3.
I want another Shadow Run FPS. The first one was pretty good.
Eh, those Harebrained guys licensed shadowrun out to some devs who pushed a turd once already. The question is what happened to their battletec game, I thought they had a game where you built giant robots in the works with an ETA of this summer.
>spoiler
You could try online, hell I actually managed to get a game going through Sup Forums even.
I just want the existing ones ported to PS4
Battletech is in beta but the release date was pushed back to 2018.
I could go for another Shadowrun Returns, as long as microsoft is never involved, of course.
Where did you get that game going, user? Was it on one of the /tg/ threads for stuff like that or did it just happen to be a one-off occurrence that you stumbled upon?
Still working on it. They showed some gameplay back at E3
The CRPGs were shite mobileshit so probably not.
I'd take an MMOFPS in the vein of Neocron, even if it was limited to a single city.
>The CRPGs were shite
Care to explain why? Shadowrun returns was rough but I always thought Dragonfall and Hong Kong were decent games?
I want a game that's like a mix of the ideal of what they were trying to do with E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy and Shadowrun 2006.
Shadowrun 2006 was a great game.
He said moblieshit. There are people that think the games were too casualized for mobile.
They were good, you people are fucking insufferable. He probably thinks Baldurs Gate is still the height of RPGs.
>Megacorps
>Letting something as meaningless as race of gender stand in the way of profit
As long as you follow the dress code and spend your creds at corporate owned stores they wouldn't give a fuck, mate.
>too casualized for mobile
How so? There's plenty of depth to the game. Building your character and having a good grasp of the games combat are important in equal parts, as well as requiring you to pay attention to the story to avoid fucking the run because you missed out on important details.
Enjoy your phone games
I'd love another shadowrun like the 360/pc version.
That game was amazing fun
>Caring about CGLs shitty freelance writers
The whole point of RPGs is to create your own stories, you can just ignore/rewrite stuff you don't like.
Christ, you've got me imagining one of these reactionary children running a Shadowrun game where Humanis isn't the bad guys, the frogs who fight against them are.
Trogs*, of course.
Eh, people can run games however they like. Shadowrun's always been morally ambiguous anyway. You're playing a freelance mercenary who will do just about anything as long as the paycheck is big enough.
I still don't know why someone didn't make UGC for Dragonfall based around Humanis being the good guys.
It's never been morally ambiguous - it's just been made clear that you aren't necessarily the good guys.
The egalitarianism the writer is espousing is equality of outcome, racial quotas and the sort.
And while a Current Year liberal studies student might view the world that, some chummer living in the shit of the 2070s sure as fuck isn't expecting handouts.
>you aren't necessarily the good guys
Then who is? Not the corps, not the common people, they're out for themselves like everybody else, and certainly not the dragons. There's no epic good vs evil battle happening, just people being people.
3 things i want from a Shadowrun game that previous games fucked up:
1. production value (VA'd dialogue at least for the critical path/characters)
2. freedom to RP a wide range of characters encompassing the full spectrum of character alignments(let me join or betray any group at least along the critical path)
3. consequences to my actions(a direct result of #2 otherwise it's meaningless)
My fourth point isn't really so much a point but a deal breaker, if the game again looks like a fucking ipad/facebook game i won't even pirate it.
The books are clear - runners who run as a way of trying to fight against the system are the good guys, the system is just stacked against them. Humanis is quite literally never presented in a good light, and was clearly borne from the same 80s and early 90s ethos that inspired "Nazi Punks Fuck Off" and whatnot.
>''next gen''
What did he mean by this? Like Xbox TWO and PS5? Because right now this is not considered next gen anymore. We are near the end of this current gen.
I will never forget how Sup Forums tricked me into buying this shit
>Do you want a new shadow run game?
Hell yes I d-
>from microsoft
Nope. its dead jim.
I remember shadowrun crossplay and how they literally gimped PC players so we wouldnt make their 360 babies cry
>The books are clear
My whole point was about how the books should not be held as sacred. I don't like or sympathize Humanis, I don't want to play with people who do. And, yes, the writers of the books would be rather upset to find out that people like that exist. But if those people want to run the game that way, in the privacy of their own home, who cares?
Never played. How was it gimped?
It goes against the whole ethos of the setting, is the thing. They can go make nazi propaganda RPGs if they want to play that shit.
I want this one
I do too, I enjoyed it for a while when it came out, filled a void until halo 3
I'll just reiterate why do you care what they do? Why does it ruin the game for you personally?
after 2 weeks of cross platform, PC recieved a PC only patch. Some of the changes they did where severely limiting the mouse speed, disabled side buttons, disabled scroll wheel, hard locked the weapon change buttons and other small changes to force PC players into a more controller like situation.
That kind of shit doesn't belong in the hobby, and when people see it associated with the hobby, and Shadowrun and cyberpunk especially, it creates a misrepresentation of the game and the community around it.
Ah, there's the authoritarian reaction I was waiting for. You can't just be happy playing your games, you want to control how everyone else plays as well. Congrats, you're a fascist.
Shoulda known I was talking to Sup Forums, desu
So your assumption is that these guys running a "Humanis was right" campaign are also chucking it on youtube, or putting detailed session summaries up on the forums?
I had a character I played who was racist purely by way of growing up in Japanese shrines, but was still an extremist with a heart of gold. Was I playing SR wrong by not making sure that my character let their racism turn them into an awful characiture villain?
If they're not going to adapt the tabletop properly for player run campaigns
I want to see an asymmetric multiplayer game featuring corps vs. runners themes.
Somewhere between Dystopia and tabletop shadowrun, with PvE filling in for the most part until players get occasionally subbed in for more dangerous guest appearances. Most players will be immediately above street level in no time so their presence is the difficulty curve for mission running.
Doesn't have to be too complicated, corps try to grow the corp and runners complicate things in defense, or runners get hired by corps to attack on their behalf while running intel and legwork.
Real time or turn based is fine.
>Dragonpunk
>Microsoft
Wasn't that already canceled?
m8 just how fucking dense and stupid are ya?
When do you think they'll set the game? 2050's or 2070's?
Shadowrun was already ruined with Returns and everything that came after that.
I still love the SNES version, and wish someone would just dump 100+ new romhacked levels into it.
>he didn't like dragonfall
>You will never climb Eiger
Sell me on it then.
Can you:
>freeroam
>save whenever you want
>backtrack
These are things that killed Returns for me, since they decided to make a linear action game instead of an RPG.
which meme is that, hun?
Market is saturated
With shadowrun?
Multiplayer shooter only games. Every dev is ditching single player games for this competitive shit. Shadowrun is another one of those multiplayer only games like lawbreakers, overwatch, battleborn, destiny 2 etc. It won't do well in the current market
Are you for real? Do you not know that Shadowrun is an RPG?
The only Shadowrun game Microsoft ever made was a FPS. Do you really think they're going to put a RPG on the Xbone?
If CP2077 does well I think it's possible.
Yes since they have no RPGs
Neat. Definitely interested
Gonna help spread the word
>It would be an Action-RPG/Multiple player title, of course! Like the RPG glory days of Mass Effect with multiplayer elements like Destiny.
A what now
Are you? The op literally is saying that they wanna garner interest for shadowrun to show MICROSOFT that it's still popular.
Microsoft literally made a first person shooter shadowrun. That's all they do these days. They wouldn't make an rpg dum dum. Especially after they canned scalebound and making sea of theives vs a good single player game.
Could be worse
See
fun fact: these people (writers of fluff) have been born and bred in the midst of corporate equality campaigns
so they unironically drank the kool aid
fuck millenials
Microsoft owns the video game rights to FASA's old tabletop games because reasons. Harebrained Schemes' Shadowrun and Battletech games license the rights from Microsoft even though HBS was started by one of their original creators.
All I wanted was a cyberpunk crpg. What we get is elves, orcs, dwarves and Mages.
I want a Eclipse Phase game
>so little confidence in the idea they are fishing for likes and not crowd funding
come back when you are serious, losers.
