Wtf is sony thinking

Maybe you shouldn't have bought all those millions of PS4s then. They have no reason to listen to what the fanbase really wants since they're already at the top.
I imagined it would be harder since the ps4 doesn't use the power of the cell
Maybe if sony didnt design a shitty architecture for the PS3 they could figure out how to do it.
>backwards compatibility
For what? I still own my PS3 and PS2.
Backwards compatibility is a meme for people dumb enough to sell old systems.
Sadly this is true
Though I feel PSNOW takes way more effort and resources than emulation would have.
Since you're petty much streaming it off a server room filled with PS3s
I still have a backwards compatible PS3 next to my PS4 so I'm glad they didn't include BC on the PS4. If you want to play old games keep your old consoles, it's that simple.
Xbox are the only ones who have backwards compatibility.
The same thing Sony always thinks when they are winning, that developers and customers don't matter. Then they end up with a warehouse filled with PlayStation VR/PlayStation Pro.
If PS5 doesn't have backwards compatibility, Nintendo will have a solid chance at stealing the next generation. Then again, it's Nintendo. They seen how much hatred paid online received, so they decided to do it as well, after releasing another underpowered handheld system.
this is my first playstation and I can't play the ico/shadow of the colossus collection. even if its on psnow, there is the chance that I have to wait in line to even stream it. how nice of sony to rerelease it a 3rd time though, without ico
>If PS5 doesn't have backwards compatibility, Nintendo will have a solid chance at stealing the next generation
Now this is funny.
I feel like it's nigh impossible with the current hardware. I feel like it'll be another gen or so before the console has strong enough hardware to properly play them.

This is entirely your fault.
I prefer to watch bluray movies on my PS3 because the PS4 clutters the screen with horseshit every time I want to turn on a subtitle or fastforward. PS3 has you press the select button to show the best dvd remote ever, then you press select again to make it fuck off.
Wtf are you thinking? Like legit. Do you believe anything at face value what people tell you? What business people tell you? Here's the situation. They know people want it, they know it costs money to get this shit working, they know they don't earn a single cent from making it. Do you want one of the PR guys to tell you to go fuck yourself? Ofcourse they're not going to tell you that, instead they say something that sounds nice even if it's easily proven wrong. It's PR talk. Companies do it all the time when they don't want to give you the shit you want because it wouldn't earn them enough money. Remember when the guy from the xbox division said that they have a product for people who don't want the always online connectivity for xbox one? That was PR talk aswell, sometimes it blows over and sometimes people just forget. Or the fucking time when people were asking blizzard for legacy servers.
The PS3 was at release a good bluray player solution so id hope the interface is intuitive
Yea but sadly I'm a causal gamer in a tiny NYC apartment who doesn't have room for more than one game console.
I also never own a playstation I was xbox growing up so there's a lot I missed out on that I'd like to play.
I started looking for a PS3 and the backwards compatible ones start at $150 why sony though this was a good idea for only the first gen of PS3's is beyond me
It makes sense that people here complain but how much of the total userbase would actually want it, let alone use it? Most people dont even get passed the first level of any game (pc/xbox too) if we look at achievements and trophies. How many would even replay games
>Our players don't want backwards compatibility
The majority probably don't
that sony is anticonsumer and releasing the same game again for the 3rd time?
they didn't think it was a good idea, they were just cheaper and sony liked taking away shit like otherOS
How is that anti consumer? You just said you never got to play it and now they are releasing it so you can.
>Ape Escape 4 doesn't exist yet
>Expecting Sony to ever be smart
I feel like a decent ammount there's been a lack of good JRPGs this gen as well as no Skate o good arcade racer on PS4
the shit was $600 and Sony was selling them at a loss, they weren't moving units and BC was an easy cut especially with how many PS2 were in the wild.
>The majority wouldn't miss
ftfy
everyone would like BC, but I don't think it's been a major selling factor of any system except the 7200 and now Xbox One because those systems have a very weak lineup of games.
Is this shit still alive? I forgot about it.
>buy 360 game
>play on xbone
>buy ps2 game rereleased on ps3
>can't let you do that, consumer
>buy you can buy another version of it!
and ico still isn't being released
PS4 has a weak lineup too, hence why I was BC
Then play it on your PS3 you retard. If you still have your old console that isn't a concern and if you don't then buy the rerelease.
