Bethesda writing thread?

...

...

NOT MY BUSINESS

kek

I prefer Fallout Shelter.

screenshot thread?

It's not fair, the gunplay was actually fine why does everything else have to be shit? It's hard to play New Vegas again because of how shit the actual game feels outside of dialog.

How do I make Fallout 4 fun? I installed sex mods and that didn't really do anything for me. Thinking of maybe trying some /k/ tier mods or some other theme. Maybe a mod to completely wipe the shit story in favor of a choose-your-own-destiny story approach with main story NPC's removed if such a thing exists? I just don't want to chase my ex wife's step son while black George Washington tells me to protect another fucking settlement from across the map or hear that BoS guy bitch and moan about robutts anymore because Is seriously cannot give any less of a fuck.

The fact that Bethesda looked at this and said "Yeah, this is acceptable" raises my blood pressure. This legitimately makes me fucking mad to my very core. This entire game is a testament to the watered down mechanics of contemporary games in every facet of development

Unga bunga, me hate newspaper. Me go to Detroit become human.

>How do I make Fallout 4 fun?
you uninstall and play new vegas instead

>gunplay in New Vegas sucks
>roleplaying mechanics in Fallout 4 suck

Did they seriously write "I'm not the tooth fairy" and think it was good dialogue?

I already played New Vegas and still go back to it now & then. I paid for Fallout 4 and all it's DLC and can't even be bothered to finish the main story let alone start the DLC so I want to make this piece of shit game enjoyable to get my money's worth.

>gunplay in New Vegas sucks
Still better than 3's

...

>Play as vanilla Nate

I downloaded several mods that turn the game into a giant fuck you themed land, where headshots are fatal to mostly everything including you, explosions have a blast radius that'll knock you up 10 feet farther and enemy spawn mods that turned inner Boston into a 24/7 war zone with constantly respawning elite Raiders and Super Mutants shooting at each other and you if they get the chance. Though that amounts to a 'dude it's hard so its fun!' answer, which doesn't apply to everyone

...

I didn't buy your game

I'd just reply but I'd like to be personable and give a bit of context. I've been playing computer games since about 1988. I've played on PC, NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, PS4, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, DS, X-Box 360, and I've had a few occasions to play some PS3 games but I've never owned one. I first played one of the Fallout games around 2001 or 2002. It's been a while and the first two have since slotted themselves into a short list of titles I consider essential playing. I've played every Elder Scrolls game except Arena, Battlespire, and Redguard.

So, with all that in view? I agree with you completely. Fallout 4 is the most condescending pile of shit I have ever played, Mass Effect 3 and Bioshock Infinite included.

3d fallout is shit.

Fallout 4 feels like it was made by somebody whose involvement with Fallout begins and ends with watching their friend play 3 a couple times.

I pirated Skyrim and haven't even finished it. I just do every sidequest, every dungeon possible until I had my fill, then start a new character.

This can't be real

Go back to sleep Todd. I'll call you if I buy Skyrim Switch.

I don't think so son

My theory is that they realized at some point how fucking stupid it is to use a dialogue system that forces them to always add exactly 4 options, but they were in too deep to just scrap it. So instead of putting needless energy into making the best out of what was a stupid idea in the first place, they started half-assing it just to get it over with.

...

You're forced to play as a dad, so it actually fits pretty well that you go around telling lame dad jokes.

They came pretty close to confirming that theory.

>Tod means death in German

Well Sup Forums?

The gunplay in 4 also sucks, so the choice is simple

I keep wanting to replay this, not because it's good but because I like the exploration. But then I remember Preston and the goddamned crafting.

Fallout 4 wouldn't be half as tedious if it weren't for a crafting system + inventory carry weight + their fucking retarded console-centric UI.

Like seriously, fuck you game, making me deal with your bullshit just to craft anything. And in the end, for what purpose?

>game rushed out by a smaller company can spare half an hour or more of amazing dialogue with an npc you don't even have to talk to
>massive company with huge budget long-dev game can only manage "i killed those raiders" in 4 variants

Is it worth replaying NV just to do Legion?

I have rerolled in that game about two dozen times and I have never fucking made it to Caesar's camp let alone joined up. I've even been approached by Vulpus or w/e in New Vegas where he forgives your aggression.

I just don't like the idea of being locked out of all the NCR locales.

>Not just murdering your way through hostile locales

What about NV? Can I just murder all NCR personnel and Mr. House's robutts won't fuck with me?

Honestly I found all the faction shit so tiresome, like why would anyone join those niggers the Powder Gangers.

>Yes
>Yes (Sarcastic)
>Yes
>Yes
Quality.

The problem is Legion was hit hardest by the content cuts. It feels lighter than the other main lines.

>Everyone praises NV writing
>First town, everyone is a fucking goody-two-shoes or a goofy loveable fool, even the store clerk with an attitude is essentially cookie-cutter pushover
>Villains are comical rape-and-pillage variety, zero nuance to their motives
Final Fantasy VII, a game for weebs has more storytelling vigor.

>Not knowing about the lon con of Easy Pete
