Casual? Witcher 3. Love it.
complete edition or bust
They're two different games.
If you want a massive beautiful open world adventure with tons of lore, storytelling and world building get the Witcher 3.
If you want a tightly focused and difficult viceral action game with a H.P Lovecraft style world as well as minimal story get Bloodborne
witcher for a good story
bloodborne for repeating a level over and over
...
Throw it in the dumpster and get a Switch instead, sonybro
P5, Yakuza 0/Kiwami
Witcher 3 if you're casual
If you want something with good combat, but not quite as hard as Bloodborne, go with Nioh.
Witcher 3 story goes from pretty interesting to complete shit in Novigrad which is like 10 hours in.
Buy Bloodborne.
I'm definitely leaning more towards Witcher. Is it completely story driven or similar to Elder Scrolls where you can fuck around for hours doing whatever you want?
I really dig the style and setting of Bloodborne and I like character combat progression. I've heard that people seem to relish the difficulty of the game rather than the actual game-play.
>but not quite as hard as Bloodborne, go with Nioh.
I thought Nioh was way harder than Bloodborne but I didn't look up how to exploit the game using broken builds.
I thought Novigrad was supposed to be the best part of the game?
Absolutely this. The Witcher expansions assumed that everyone and their mother used early version exploits to earn high levels and money. Those of us that honestly struggled in poverty were left scrambling when Blood and Wine was released. The Complete Edition balances out currency and eases up on being shorted for every side quest.
At no point in the series does the witcher's story descend to shit. Any mixed feelings about the weaker points of 3 are more than redeemed by HoS
It is. That guy is a fag. The quality of life skyrockets once you get to the main city hub. Just having personal storage alone was a vast improvement.
Same. In fact I didn't really even figure Nioh out. It's still sitting on my shelf but I never even made it to the first boss. I wasn't really enjoying the controls but I didn't put that much effort in. I platted Bloodborne.
The combat is really satisfying when you get the hang of it.
Witcher 3 is both completely story driven and you can fuck around. There are HUNDREDS of hours of side quests. Some are tragic multi-tiered epics and others are silly.
KILL YOURSELF FOR EVEN CONSIDERING PLAYING A WESTERN LOW IQ GAME OVER A JAPANESE HIGH IQ GAME.
YOU ARE A FILTHY FUCKIN GAIJIN
Novigrad has great quests but a lot of running back and forth.
Skellige island, after Novigrad, is like all of Skyrim within Witcher 3.
It's scary how time consuming this game is.
It's really much easier when you get used to it, you have the right gear, or use certain jutsu. FROM games are already just as much gear checks as Nioh is.
If you never use any set bonuses or invest in anything like boosting your living weapon, magic, or ninjitsu, then yeah. It will be hard. It's even easier if you have both since they use separate slot capacities.
also the game has very limited number of enemy types and every level you're almost always fighting the same shit. They all have pretty exploitable moves and are less aggressive than Bloodborne. If you stop dodging and fighting back in Bloodborne you are completely fucked.
You should try replaying it with shit like Quick-Change scroll, the paralysis gas bomb, or sloth talisman and see how much different the game is.
For what it's worth, I tried playing Witcher 3 without any prior exposure to the series and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the fuck was going on. If that's the case for you, I'd recommend picking up Bloodborne.
Doesn't Bloodborne have incredibly difficult combat mechanics?
>incredibly difficult combat mechanics
No, it's just unforgiving.
that's a shame that you didn't even get to the first boss, especially if you mean you didn't even get out of London Tower. The combat really gets more interesting once you have more abilities.
The combat is very straightforward if you want it to be. TW3's combat is really slow and unresponsive imo.
No you fucking retard, it's mechanicly simple but the design of the enemies makes it, at times, difficult.
The combat is very simple. It's just a matter of getting used to it and trying not to fuck up because the game is very punishing.
No it's very simple. You have your weak attack, strong attack, dodge, and gun that's only good for parrying. You can also transform your weapon of choice at any time, so even if you focus on one weapon you technically have two.
I just completed witcher 3 with 29,000 gold and used no exploit whatsoever. Just wear witcher gear and sell all the relic weapons and stuff that you pick up.
Let's be smart and bring it off.
Can you get different attack combos in Witcher 3 other than the standard light and heavy strings? Or dual wield? Or actual weapon attack skills (not signs)?
Fuck lads, this didn't help me make up my mind at all. Maybe I'll just buy both.
nah, in fact you might even find it easy if you're casual.
The main thing the game punishes is overthinking things and trying to take a defensive slow approach to the game. This is typically how you played Souls games. You analyze the attacks, dodge them or block with a shield, and punish the enemy. I didn't play Witcher 3, but from my understanding it is a pretty similar approach.
Bloodborne was intentionally designed to trip up players used to that. Majority of the enemies in the game can be staggered to death by mashing your attack.
Bloodborne has both difficulty and great gameplay
just buy
Witcher 3 combat is just about using the right tactic for the right enemy, buffing with potions and oils and using magic at the right opprotunity.
Basically:
Human enemies try to surround you so dodging into another enemy's attack isn't that smart. Instead you want to parry, which is much easier then most games.
Monsters have claws so you can't parry them, instead you dodge or roll everything.
that makes sense. I've never seen the parrying shit before. I've only seen webms of people fighting monsters where they just side dodge, hit 3 or 4 times, and repeat over and over.
This game will last you much longer than either game.
>TW3's combat is really slow and unresponsive imo.
Why haven't mods fixed this? Is it because it's not as big a problem as Sup Forums makes it out to be?
>I've heard that people seem to relish the difficulty of the game rather than the actual game-play.
Thats not true at all. Actual gameplay is the fun part, difficulty is just cherry on top.
But get Witcher. Bloodborne gonna rape your asshole if youre actually a casual gamer.
>witcher
>good story
When will this meme end?
>playing games with a 30 fps cap and low settings
desu the 30 fps thing is a big no go for me. I had a ps4 for a few months and sold that shit. BB included. enjoy your 20 fps gaymen my boi, you are normie just like the other guys. it's ok, someone has to be that person. lol I can't play that shit though. After putting over 300 hours into the entire witcher series, they're amazing games, each in their own right. but to play witcher 3 on a ps4 at 30fps cap and low settings...I honestly feel bad for that person. It's a far superior experience on PC. that's just me, do what makes you happy user.
comparing these two games is pretty shit though. this post is probably b8.
The game has one sword with one moveset, so, no.
>owning a ps4
>not casual scum
my sides
>i could watch a youtube video of gameplay but please hold my fucking hand.
normie faggot. I'm outa here.
From PvE perspective, they are relatively simple but extremely punishing, as in the game can push your shit in even if you get the hang of your weapon. The more difficult nature of the combat shows up in PvP when you have to go against human enemies with different weapons and builds.
There were some mods to fix this from what I remember.
Problem solved guys. Thanks for all your input anyway.
This.
It's all downhill from there. And the finale of the game after Kaer Morhen is Bioware level bad
>oracle who couldn't find Ciri can show everyone telepathically what happened 20 years ago in a different dimension, it's a good thing Wild Hunt just picked up the poison vial and laughed maniacally at the camera
Name ONE (1) bioware writing this bad
Read all the item description and don't skip any dialogue in bloodborne
The story is 10/10 in this game , way better then in wither
>pre-owned
What's wrong with pre-owned games?
Agreed and it is also not needlessly convoluted as dark souls.
This is honestly better than both those games combined.
