We may never get an HD-remake of Ocarina of Time, but with the 3DS emulator Citra and upscaling, this is the best we may ever get.

How well does it run? I have an i5 4670k

Pretty well actually, Citra is progressing nice lately.

the art direction in the remake is terrible

the old one looks like ass desu

youtube.com/watch?v=0FLQ_h_LaqA

The old one actually looks like a town the new one looks like a shitty cartoon.

Oot was supposed to be drab and realistic.

I don't care what it was supposed to be, it looks like ass.

Whoa it's almost like it's a video game

The old one looks like someone took a photo of something in real life with their shitty 1990s camera and then used it as a texture.

Looks bad and cheap regardless of intent.

Since the background was a pre-rendered image and didn't require any polygon modeling, if they had wanted it to look like the right, they would have.

...

control your autism

the remake is how they wanted it to look, and as someone who grew up with the game, it looks much better.

considering how well the 3ds version emulates, i hope it eventually gets people interested in modding it.
having support for higher poly models/objects and full 3d instead of 2d backgrounds is pretty cool, but a lot of the new textures raped the game visually.
plus there's lighting issues making everything too bright.

What about OoT unreal?

>muh grafix
Don't really care.

youtu.be/h_kcmHKWgfU

Muh framerate then?

it's supposed to you dumb fag

Real talk. I like the art direction.

Castle town looks more like an actual lively town as the people and music would imply and less like a dreary ass shithole.

Looks more like a nu Zelda game as opposed to a classic Zelda game.

Nostalgia fags should be gassed

>people still pretending the old version is better

left: temple of time
right: gay pride temple

The left looks like an actual boat, not some person they slapped in to make it "better".

This is one change I'm cool with.

Okay

OK hold on a minute. WTF is this shit?

reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/6zqauu/we_may_never_get_an_hdremake_of_ocarina_of_time/

You just copy pasted the entire post from Reddit, literally.

How the fuck can you sleep every night doing this shameful stuff?

It's a running gag I've noticed. Someone makes a thread with images/text ripped from reddit, but if someone points OUT that it's from reddit, you get made fun of for going on reddit.

You wouldn't know it's from reddit if you didn't go there, nice job outing yourself as a redditor.

Were any of the original OOT devs on the 3DS team?

It wouldn't surprise me that with the bigger polycount they were able to work with, they put shit in that they had originally intended to look, but couldn't due to the restrictions of the N64.

>Were any of the original OOT devs on the 3DS team?

No because OoT 3D wasn't actually made by Nintendo, it was outsourced to a company named Grezzo with no affiliation to Nintendo.

Aonuma for certain, but we saw how bad his "intents" can be with the Majora's Mask remake.

old version has it's own charms. but you can't deny new looks better

whats wrong with MM3d?

They made everything better and autists hate change.

...

god that's horrible.

Lazy Grezzo didn't try to make an MM Master Quest

That picture doesn't even mention how every boss has giant eyeballs you have to shoot arrows at.

as a HUGE nostalgia fag for OOT and MM specifically... nothing, really. my only real complaints are keeping the razor sword useless, and adding the majora eyes to the bosses. the eyes just look strange, but the actual boss fight changes are cool. they fixed more than they broke, basically. song of double time lets you go to any day you want.

deku footstep noise give me ear cancer

It's a half-assed solution to 3 out of 4 bosses just roaming around instead of attacking you

>deku footstep noise give me ear cancer
that's an emulation bug.

inb4

Yeah we know.

I wonder what it feels like, growing up on, say, Twilight Princess, and then having an older but HD-remade version of a much older game. Does it actually feel old, or just like yet another different release like Skyward Sword vs Twilight Princess?

i wanted my completely revamped twilight princess remake.... and nintenbro couldnt even ORCHESTRATE the new soundtrack, even though they had orchestrated tracks since 2006. fucking lazy

the only thing wrong in this image is the moon and even isn't that bad

Considering TP was basically OoT 2 it should feel pretty natural

one of those straw man bait images that shows a few bad changes in a game full of good ones

the fuck are you talking about

>bosses have new moves
>fishing holes
>song of time and variations work better
>bombers notebook better now
>better graphics
>better frame rate
>bank has better placement

like i said just before, the only real "bad" changes are the eyeballs on bosses. they just look odd and didn't have to be there.

actually, i take that back. i don't like that you can't go sanic speed for free as a zora anymore.

i knew something was up with zora link

it's legitimately the worst change, because it makes the giant eel part slower.

remaster*

But which ones look more like the concept art?

Right moon is objectively better, it has some actual fucking perspective to it.

The only thing I don't like in this image is the color of the oogaboogaungabunga fight

it's too round to scare me, this moon is like "dayum nibba u ugly"

Is Citra not complete shit yet?

The old moon looks like someone forgot to switch from orthographic mode back to perspective.

In what universe does that look like a real boat? Even as a kid I thought it looked goofy.
