Maps that piss you off

>all that fucking empty space in the middle

REEEEEEEEEEEEEE

...

>tfw this is all that there is in this game
Haven't finished it yet, but if this is the entire map, then this game will be put to the top of my 'unfinished games' pile.

...

that is the entire map. there is a small area past the greatwall that isn't on there but it's just for the Grigori fight

very disappointing

Why does empty space bother autists so much?

because they could fill that space with gameplay

...

The map is the WORST part of FFXIV because you can't see adjacent/adjoining areas in the regional map view. Makes navigation extremely confusing even after you're used to it.

he he

>tfw attack on titan literally just flipped the horn of Africa upside down for their map

I'm not good at designing maps but that sit is terrible

>doesn't post what could have been

C'mon now.

Yes, the actual literal map. The history of aot reveals it's literally earth

Even though Madagascar would have to be like 10 times bigger to fit the land we see around the walls.

i lol'd

The sad shit is that you see so goddamn much on that flight and you can't explore any of it

Except it's not Earth at all

Still, it could be worse.

FUCK

this map and the entire roleplay based around it can go fuck itself

there is an island set literally called "landa"

Reminds me of this

>casuals still complain about 1.0 shroud
I wonder if there's a reason it was called the Black Shroud. I wonder if there's a reason the BGM was named Emerald Labyrinth. Maybe it was supposed to be confusing...?

...

It's exactly the whole overworld map, there's few areas that aren't on the map such as final bosses area.

It's really not much better, that's the problem.

At least games like WoW have the decency to show you the areas surrounding the region you're currently in when you consult the map. It's a pain just to navigate towns in XIV with how janky the mapping is.

i really enjoyed that world desu. mybe it was because i read Eragon when i was 13 but still

You must not have played since Stormblood came out. They changed the map to do exactly that.

There's still the Bitterblack Isles. Probably the most fun part of the game.
The over-world was really bland IMO, but Bitterblack was great.

Seriously ugly map.
>People like GoT.

Even as a 10 year old who loved the book I always felt the world was just a shitty Middle Earth ripoff

>I always felt the world was just a shitty Middle Earth ripoff
Well... Yeah, that's exactly what it is

This map is missing the entirety of the Withered Forest, which goes in the middle.

>tfw the hills are devoid of almost everything
Also, fuck the WB

What pissed me off was the foggy parts you didn't explore. It's ugly, I wish I could have just bought a world map or something.

It took me longer time than it should have to realize what this was

How to design a good map?

Looks like a boot shoulda gave it away

By becoming an outdoor-loving cartographer.

the way Spain was moved up looks like Europe just closed its mouth

The only confusing thing is that people paid to play that trash.

I looked to the left side first, it was when I saw Denmark I realized what it was

>when you see it

>Bonetown

>turns out Drakengard is both a prequel AND a sequel to Nier

But you...can? They added that in Stormblood

If this thread is anything to go by, you can't.
If you give it realistic geography, such as the poles being cold, you're just being cliche.
If you give things names like Creektown or Bonecity you're being unimaginative, despite real world places having those sorts of naming conventions all the time.

Eragon is such a generic fantasy setting but that's sort of what makes it fun.
It does all the sorts of things other fantasy setting try and avoid for fear of being cliche and actually becomes sort of unique by doing that.
Like having the elves be straight up Tolkien elves instead of donut steel night elves or altmer or something.

No, you're wrong. All you get is useless arrows and "adjoining area" markers that don't indicate where they lead unless you click on them and bring up the next region map in sequence.

There are different "levels" of maps, but the one people are going to use the most winds up being the most useless one because it doesn't show you what's around your region.
