I miss the no bullshit UIs from the PS3 and early 360.

While the original dashboard lacked the advertisements and other bullshit, it was kind of a pain in the ass to find DLC for a game, as everything was displayed vertically and you had through scroll through every download related to that game (avatars, demos, videos)
Also the new Xbox Experience gave us the ability to install games to the HDD, so you can't complain about that.

you forgot reasonably sized menu options fitting everything relevant on one screen without metro clogging up your entire widescreen display with 3 big ass fucking unnecessary tiles that have tons of empty space

The XMB for the PS3 was the perfect console UI and I still can't understand why Sony had to fuck it all up for the Vita and PS4

Advertising. They could have left it be, but think of all the sweet advertising money they'd be missing out on! It still pisses me off that on the PS4 all the video apps have been moved to a separate interface expressly so they can ram advertising down our throats. I started a thread about it on the official forums and nobody gave a shit, that's how bad it's gotten.

the new ui was a downgrade and removed the ability to put games in a smaller window while you browse the os

The only thing they removed was the useless snap functionality. You can still go to the dashboard and do stuff while the game is still running. The only differnce is the missing window to the game you paused.

the old dashboard was a great horrible mess and I hated looking at it. Going to ps3 dashboard after using that shit was a breath of fresh air. you can bitch about the adverts all you want but the new xbox 360 ui is so much better
