So which one is the crouch key Sup Forums?
So which one is the crouch key Sup Forums?
neither. rctrl
ctrl. c is used to cast spells
Shift
I use ALT for crouch
ctrl is the fire key you fucking newfags
there is no crouch key
I bind crouch to Shift + F11 tbqh
space bar
Ctrl
C for toggle
Ctrl if you need to hold the key down
ctrl is hold to crouch.
c is toggle crouch.
also fuck you if you bind grenade to either of these.
It varies from game to game.
Shift
But if I had to choose between Ctrl and C, then Ctrl. C is an inherently bad choice because it can impede with wasd movement.
Doesn't matter, the REAL discussion we should be having is if you set crouch to toggle or hold.
>t. Toggle master race
These guys know
This. And also if you use alt you're a faggot
C if toggle, else . I prefer toggle.
Ctrl, you fucker.
X is the definitive answer.
Actual good replies
depends on game
arma III default, z for prone x for crouch
any other fps game is ctrl for me
Control, unless the game has no sprint, in which case shift. Why the fuck would I take my finger off the D to crouch when I can use my pinky for maximum efficiency?
Toggle is the superior answer. That being said I still hold because I'm used to it
X is prone though.
Alternatively, Z and C go back and forth through inventory, X uses current item.
>slower reactions
>just because your pinky can't hold down a fucking key
ahaha. no.
CTRL is for crouch C is for melee.
More important question: toggle or hold iron sights?
this
>toggle
>lazy man's option
>master race
I bet you drive with automatic too.
my niggas
>he likes tying his hands up in games with crouch + lean, like F.E.A.R. or Siege
get fucked
you too
How do you hold ctrl without getting pinkie aids
C for toggle, Shift for hold, unless shift is run, then ctrl.
Mouse 4
hold
no, mouse scroll is for melee
I am . I use Shift, not control.
>he has baby hands
No iron sights.
Afer playing EYE I found toggle iron sights pretty comfy.
How is that supposed to work? How do you switch weapons then?
I like toggle but I dislike automatic
But I love cruisecontrol and to be honest toggle is closer to cruise control then autonatic
Left / right click.
>he doesn't have his favorite weapons bound to the numpad
Im sorry a accidenty addec u too
But i still want answers from the other fags
How do you shoot?
>playing with numpad
How many hands do you have?
The numbers above the upper row letters, just like every game since 1999 you subhuman
>How do you shoot?
with my dick all over ur mums face lmao
Shift
>He uses WASD
>He doesn't use 4ERT
My right hand is right next to the numpad anyway, what with resting on the arrow keys for movement.
Ctrl
Hold only if the game has tricks that require quickly crouching and uncrouching. In other words if its a glitchy piece of shit.
His mouse doesnt have numpad on it
>xe assumes my pronouns
>xe doesn't use
>Have in-game movements attached to the directional keys
>People laugh at me at LAN parties
Who the fuck makes WASD the keys for movement? It's so hard to remember compared to arrows.
You're trying too hard man.
It doesn't make sense though? The directional keys are for moving, it's obvious. WASD are words.
is it my large hands? Shift always seems the most comfortable to me.
Page Down
I honestly used to play Tribes like this with everything else mapped to the numbpad and I was a fucking god
F
You are trying way too hard.
mouse button 5
i gotta spam that sometimes and I don't wanna take hands off WASD
I know you're joking but that was literally my line of thinking until I was about 12 years old.
>first video games are some racing game on N64 and Age of Empires
>controls are straightforward
>get Need for Speed 3 on PC
>obviously use directional keys for steering / braking / accelerating
>get Tomb Raider 3
>no mouse support, default controls are directional keys
>get Jedi Academy
>holy shit why are there even guns in this game, how am I supposed to hit anything with them
>literally could not conceive of using the mouse to for aiming
>beat the game with arrow keys, jump (space), ctrl (primary attack), alt (secondary attack) and F keys (force powers)
>get GTA San Andreas
>finally figure out I should use the mouse for aiming
>play with directional keys for movement
>KP1 is crouch
>KP0 is enter vehicle
>RCtrl is jump
>RShift is run
C for nade, V for melee, X for selfheal
Both.
Ctrl is hold to crouch, C is to toggle stances.
Ctrl if sprinting is available
Shift for huge hands (such as i)
but C if crouch toggle is availble
It's shift.
>C toggle Crouch
>Left Alt toggle Prone
Anything else is heresy
It was a failed joke, but me too. It took until I started playing Minecraft to realize how stupid it was.
How old are you? I mean when I started playing video games mouse support wasn't a thing in the games I played so naturally it didn't occur to me to use it. I don't think there were games after around 2000 that didn't have mouse aim and WASD as standard.
22 now, but I was never a PC gamer growing up. This was when I was much younger and got confused when the directional keys did nothing.
I see, that makes sense. My parents never let me have games consoles because hurr they're a waste of time, but PC games were fine because we had the hardware anyway. And yeah you're not that much younger than me.
>tfw 2000 kids are allowed to vote next year
I use Q in games that don't have leaning.
>tfw 2000 kids are allowed to vote next year
It's a weird feeling, isn't it?
Yes. My youngest cousin is already allowed to vote (born in '98), that's already fucking weird and she's only 6 years younger than me. I take solace in the fact that people born in the 80s likely thought the same thing about our decade, except the turn of the millenium feels """more significant""" because of the extra 0's.
>He uses 4ERT
>He dosenĀ“t use the vastly superior RAGE
>4ERT
>Doesn't use HJKL
Plebeians, the lot of you.
You know, that actually sounds like a good idea. It works in Nethack.
This is what game companies were trying to do back in the early 2000s for PC games. Eventually it was phased out in favor for WASD due to it being more ergonomic. You can still find more recently made foreign (japanese) pc games that utilize the directional keys and ZXC for interaction.
I agree. Honestly, though, there should always be an option to make crouch a toggle. The less buttons I have to hold down to move, the better.
shift
Shove your movement keys across to ESDF
ctrl for hold
c for toggle
>crouching and casting spells in the same game
no
if your casting spells, ctrl is the modifier for your extra spells
I thought this was a thermonuclear bobby b at first glance
This.
Ctrl is for sprinting.
xD
Ctrl so I can keep it held down with my palm
Shift for rocket jumps
Ctrl, though C is useful if a game has something like sliding from a sprint. Which should be its own button anyway.
I switch caps lock and ctrl in general so it's not hard to hit it at all
ctrl
c is for lean right
Who here rebinds right click to sprint or jump?
If the game is heavy on crouching you should really consider binding crouch to Space and jumping to LAlt
triple bound to ctrl, c, and caps lock
no harassment please
WHO ELSE /CAPSLOCK SPRINT/ HERE?
C for crouch, ctrl for prone
Babyhands detected

Work smart, not hard.
What key do you use for push to talk? Not counting extra mouse buttons.

subhuman scum
do you just tape over your status LEDs?
how do you look in the mirror in the morning?
