How are you enjoying the series?

The series was good until 0 reared its ugly head and brought all these secondaries in who have no respect for the older games. Now it's fucking shit, just like everything else.
why is beast style so useless?
>slow as fuck
>still get knocked down just as frequently unless you're in climax mode and have almost all upgrades
oh fuck off you pretentious retard.
Has been a parody of itself since at least 5, maybe 4.
Beast felt useless in Kiwami but was really strong when maxed out in 0 for some reason.
Honestly, it's a good substitute for Tiger Drop when your Heat is full.
>build heat with rush
>reach stage 3 heat, quickly switch to Beast and block attacks with L1, and trigger the heat attack where you dislocate both of your opponent's shoulder and throw them for massive damage
Mostly because your flame aura doesn't hit as hard and last as long as it did in 0.
>I don't like thing I used to like because now it's popular
kys
I bet you made threads crying about Kenzan not being translated because sales wouldnt be good enough too you fucking contrarian retard.
Blow me you elitist faggot.
Zero brought in tons of new fans and money and is probably a major contributor to 6 getting localized.
I'm going through Ishin right now with MY BARE HANDS style and it's pretty ''''fun'''' I guess
What's the font that they use for those name drops?
>10 years on a murder stint is a walk in the park, especially compared to him.
>Who?
>Nobody, let's fight, kiryu chan!
Damn, majima blind siding me with some feels.
edo font
>Eh pretty good Kiryu-chan a punch that heavy it reminded me of him
>Hm?
We were getting 6 after 0 no matter what, they committed to that when they went back and localized 0. 0's success was the difference between them resentfully sharting out 6 like they did with 3 and them getting 6 delivered to us a year after the Japanese release, along with a quiz asking us if we wanted to buy 7, Kiwami 2, the First of the North Star spin-off and their shitty moba game.
Thx babe
It's still the best for crowd control unless you want to dart around with hit and run attacks in Rush. Beast was let down by losing the health regen it had in 0, more aggressive enemy AI in Kiwami and Dragon of Dojima actually being a thing early on instead of being an afterthought after you depended on Kiryu's main three styles for most of the game.
How do I beat Sera in Melee Battle 10? Is there even a single healing item somewhere?
>why is beast style so useless?
Any office area with lots of furniture is slaughter time
I'm down to Climax Battle and 100% trophies now. Any advice for either? I don't know how to play mahjong
>I INVENTED the tax Kiryu-chan
Got a laugh. I also wanted more Goromi
In 0? Dash punch him and use heat attacks on him when your gauge is full for max damage. Don't fuck around, he can easily kill you in tow or three combos.
Just go for sets of pairs, triples, quads and sequential numbered tiles of three. 1 dots to 3 dots, 5 to 7, that sort of thing. Have a set of those in your hand and you'll be able to call Riichi or Tsumo if you press the square button when it's your turn. Riichi means you declare you're going to win before this turn ends, if your enemy discards a tile you need you call Ron and win the game, if you draw the tile anyway it's Tsumo. Tsumo means you have a winning hand full stop. Keep pressing square to check for either.
For CP you need a Full Straight and a Riichi Ippatsu. Ippatsu is where you call Riichi and get the winning tile on your next turn, you'll get it eventually if you just keep playing and always call Riichi. A Full Straight is a winning hand where you have a complete set of numbered tiles from 1 to 9, along with a pair and a triple, or a different set of sequential tiles. It can be quite hard to get that one, just hope you get lucky. Either make it out of the big black dots tiles 1 to 9 or the tiles which have Chinese numbers for 1 to 9 on them. Also try learning the chinese characters for 1 to 9, it makes the game a lot easier. If you can't be bothered just know that 1 to three is just roman numerals turned on their side and go for those.
The other CP achievements are going out 10 times, which is winning ten rounds (rounds, not games), getting a mangan five times and a haneman once. A Mangan is a winning hand of four or five points, check the game's guide for hands worth a lot of points. Turn on Dora tiles as well for the possible point bonus that'll give you. These just require you to play the game and get a decent hand, not too hard on the easy table.
A Haneman is a very good winning hand, worth six or seven points. That you can get by using the Lucky Tile cheat item you got from the coin lockers. Save your game, go to the hard table and use the lucky tile, you'll either be one tile away from a win or you'll instantly be able to call Tsumo. You'll have the nad thirteen pure orphans and get a yakuman, which is an extremely good hand. Triple yakuman is basically the highest you can score in mahjong. That yakuman gets you the haneman achievement, one tick towards the going out CP, one of five mangan CP, and if you're playing on the hard table it instantly gets you the hundred thousand tags won playing mahjong CP.
And that's the basics to playing mahjong in these games. Don't ever bother going for kans, pons, kongs and the like, it'll only lower your winning score and limit your options for forming hands. Always press square and only go for riichi or tsumo. You'll get them eventually.
Thanks user, that was very helpful. I'll credit you when I get the platinum
Is he talking about Saejima here?
Yes.
Okay so I've taken Yui out shopping but I don't know what to buy her. I'm at max A rank if that makes a difference.
I never did finish 4, or start 5.
I should get on that.
Can you take her anywhere else but Le Marche? Because food or minigames is always the better option with hostesses, those bitches will bleed you dry if you try to appease them with brand items. If you want to waste the money just buy her one of the more expensive items, she'll like it.
Beast style has incredible hard hitting moves against bosses like bear hug and the l1 r1 triangle move.
YAKUZA LIIIIIIIIIIIVE
I went back to Yakuza 0 , but I don't know how to get into West Park again. I'm playing as Kiryu, right at the final chapter, and the bathroom doesn't have a prompt to let me into the parkj. How do you get into it in Yakuza0?
It's not walled off like in previous games. The entrance is near the pool bar.
Where do you find the Mesuking card between Giraffe Stag-Beetle and Empress Cicada? Would appreciate even the name if you can't remember where you found it.
Haven't played Yakuza series before.
Played Yakuza 0 and now I'm huge fan and supporter of the series.
Even got a Kiryu figure on my desk now, it makes me feel determined towards my goals.
Is it card 19? If so check this video.
No, it's the second card from the top left on page 1.
Just realised I'll probably unlock it later on, nevermind.
Did you finish challenging everyone? Even the professor?
>100 weapon grind
This is pure cancer.
>Majimas frontflip knife slash
This is some bullshit.
I was standing behind that fucking cyclops and still got hit.
No one likes it...
yeah, it's fucking annoying. i'm pretty sure you only need 70 gear items for the completion list though.
>not a statue
kill yourself, these figures NEVER look good
Is Majima stronger than Kiryu in 0? He dispatched Awano who could easily stop a punch from Kiryu.
My personal picture is being used to start Yakuza threads now....what is this feeling?
>Started with 0 and Kiwami
>Halfway through 2 now, buying the PS3 games once I'm done, will probably go back and play the original version of 1 if I still want more after that
Fuck off faggot
I'm guessing they were on equal footing in zero, with Kiryu being stronger by the end of 1.
He canonically beats his ass in 2, so he's stronger than him by then, at the very least.
He also gets the best assassin in China at his mercy begging for life, and easily kicks the shit out of Nishikiyama (who's not quite as good as Kiryu but still)
I'd say at that point in time Majima is a better fighter than Kiryu, but Kiryu surpasses him by the start of 1
At the very least he's more experienced then Kiryu is. Of course when 1 happens that changes.
What is the moon word Cop Majima yells out after he finds weapons on you
Imagine being this stupid
OUUUUUUUUUUUUTOOOO
Got the platinum for Yakuza 0 a few months back, loved the hell out of the game.
Kiwami isn't as good, but I'm still enjoying it and on track for the platinum. Only need to beat it on legend difficulty, the climax battles, and then mahjong, gambling, and weapons/equipment for the CP list
No, you need 100. I was fucking livid. Only thing I need for 100% are 100 weapons and 100 gear items. Was grinding at the Colosseum so I had enough cash to purchase 75 weapons and gear items. Did so then the next fucking tier on the checklist appeared, 100 weapons and 100 gear items. I'm so fucking fed up of this game.
Its wonderful against breaker majima. Brush off all his babby kicks and interrupts his combos.
>100 weapons and 100 gear items.
god, fuck that. these completion requirements are so fucking stupid. why do i need to collect almost all these weapons while i only have to do 40/78 substories?
I only played 0. I liked it.
I'm currently doing Majima's cabaret side-quest. It's fun. Kiryu's isn't, so I'm not doing it.
I'm gonna get Kiwami next.
K
for Gear are only 70 needed
I'm loving it so far. Recently finished my second play through of 2 ready to 100% later. First play through I beat up the mahjong guy.
Just got a hold of these two guys ready for the weekend. Its gonna be a good one
Fulfill the 70 gear items requirement then say that to me.
It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't deliberately remove the same mechanic for making money at the casinos that had been there for the last fucking decade. You sell me a game that isn't as long as 0 and you make up for it adding weapons that cost 40 million yen to make me play for hours, without a way of quickly getting that cash? Thanks Nagoshi.
You can either do ten final tournaments just to afford one treasure worth half a million and sell 80 of those, play fifteen hundred hours of mahjong or shogi, grind rich bastards for 100,000 yen a pop, or just put on the Ebisu socks and rubber band your controller so Kiryu walks non stop for forty hours just to afford all this bullshit.
What is the best way to make money in Kiwami? Is it the tournaments?
Just started emulating 2 and during cutscenes there's a crazy blur effect like my screen is slathered in Vaseline, anyone know if there's a setting I can change to get rid of it?
>he actually found yakuza 3 at CEX
REEEEEEEE
I had to fucking order it from amazon for £35 since it wasn't at any nearby CEX
I got yakuza 4 for £15 too though
It's 70 gear and 100 weapons. Three tiers of CP for each. I don't think there's even 100 pieces of equipment listed in the play log.
£15 isn't bad for CEX. How much did 3 cost you?
I only played 3 and Zero.
Pretty good, but fuck buying kiwami and spending another 100 hours in that Zero engine kamurocho.
Fuck off. I'll wait for 6.
>play yakuza 1
>complain online the game was really good but the combat was pretty boring
>people reassure me it gets better in 2
>start playing yakuza 2 this week
>unless i'm missing something the combat is basically the same
Am I fucking retarded or what am I missing
I've never emulated 2, but I was told that the PAL version doesn't have this effect. Could be mixing up the region versions, though.
That's a pretty retarded order to play in, user.
Question regarding it. I recently bought a PS3 as my old one died in mid-2015. It came with a crappy 3rd party controller, so I've been using my PS4 controller on it. I ordered copies of Yakuza 3 and 4 off eBay, do they work with a PS3 controller?
You are retarded. The combat is noticable more fluid just by the fact that you are no longer completely locked on a straight rail once you start a combo.
Nostalgia goggles.
Start with 0 or Kiwami?
might as well start with 0
0.
>It came with a crappy 3rd party controller, so I've been using my PS4 controller on it.
Hol up, are you saying you can use PS4 controllers on a PS3?
Meant PS4, my bad
Yes, since forever. The touch button doesn't work though.
I've read that Yakuza 4 is fully compatible with a DS4, can't say for certain though.
Lock on isn't fucked for one thing in 2.
My copy of Yakuza 3 still hasn't shown up. I checked out Gamestop to see if they had any, but they only had a copy of Dead Souls. Oddly enough the DLC code inside had never been used. I played it a bit, it seems ok, maybe a bit stiff. It helps to think of it as more something like Resident Evil 4 than a modern shooter.
>need shangila membership
>chink illegal will trade it for fake passport
>come back with fake passport after doing 6 other things just to get passport
>gave membership away a while back
>"I wasn't trying to scam you"
They had 4 at my local but I had to order 3 from their website for delivery
Both 15 bong
Easy Way: Go to Deborah, put on the Ebisu socks, and rubber band your controller so Kiryu walks in a circle. Leave your PS4 on overnight and come back in the morning, you'll have loads of money.
Street battle grinding: go around looking for noveau riche enemies with equipment on that boosts their appearance and the money you get form random encounters. Help every trouble victim you find, there's a low chance of thme giving you gold and platinum plates, sometimes silver ones and gold and silver bracelets.
Arena grinding: wait until the last chapters, when the last few arena prizes unlock. Do the final tournament over and over again, with Tiger Drop you can blow through it in two minutes. You'll get at least 40,000 points, 10,000 more for every perfect round you have and more depending on what crowd pleaser bonuses you get. If you're lucky they'll ask you to dodge and enemy's attack, you can get a load of those with rush quicksteps. Use those points to buy a knife which you can sell to weapons vendors for 1 million yen. I'm not sure how much the treasure items retail for, I think the dragon statue is worth 500,000 yen but I'm not sure.
Casino grinding: you can't use a zero jewel to get ten million yen straight of the bat any more. Not sure why they changed it after eight games, but there you go. You can still buy them in the traditional gambling hall however. If you win a large bet in Cho Han and bet against the dealer successfully you can earn tons of points but this can take a while. Mahjong and Shogi are similar but you have to actually be good at them to pull it off. A lot of it is down to luck, and I don't think cheating items can be obtained again outside of the ones you get from coin lockers. The weapons dealer in chapter 2 sells lopsided cigarettes but that's it.
Don't worry, I maxed out Majima Everywhere and finished every substory I could find with the Trouble Finder including minigames like Pocket Circuit and got 66% completion and I only had 32 hours clocked when I beat the game
すみません
But I love the series. I just don't have the time to spend on 4 and 5, I heard 5 was fucking massive.
I love dead souls. It's a fun game and I hope they do something like it again in the future with yakuza. A squad based 3ps in the Yakuza world, kinda like binary domain would be nice.
I just finished kiwami and will start Yakuza 2 soon. Does anyone have recommendations for PS2 controllers that aren't shit or retardedly expensive?
How is Yakuza not the japanese GTA?
Except for cars and guns it has all the fucking content.
How the hell do I get Majima to spawn in Shine?
I've already done the hostess minigame once and Kick Combo Reborn is the last thing I need before the final showdown with him.
A ps2 controller
Just keep going back. It's just random. You'll eventually trigger it.
Cars and guns are integral to GTA. Yakuza is more like a JRPG with brawler combat.
>except the main aspect of the series it's basically the same
No its more of a brawler with Jrpg elements.
yakuza is a 3d river city ransom
Should I enter a different building beforehand, or just keep going into Shine?
