Merging only adds 2 points to your BST each time, you're better off filling out everyone's skill slots if you haven't already. DC is too good to just merge away, especially for armors.

Here is a simple strat, use two mages (preferable Red and Green) a Dancer and Hector. Move the red unit closest to the attack zone with the dancer behind him. On the next turn, attack the top left axe unit, dance and draw back the dancer with your mage. Now, both axe users will be in close proximity for your red and green mage to attack and you just can keep Hector at the entrance. This GHB on Infernal is piss easy.
