You already bought it, retard, just play and find out

It's downloading, retard, that's why I made this thread to read some opinions while I wait.

no matter what tacticool game I play I always come back to Insurgency and lately Day of Infamy. I hope sandstorm pans out, DOI was a noticeable step back in map design overall in my opinion

>that webm

I never get that experience playing DoI, Everyone kind of just fans out to do their own thing then whoever is alive towards the end meet up to do the last objective.

a DOD:S ripoff
great job, even the name is not original.

Dunno, but Desmo's Playground is fun.

Yes but it sucks if you don't want to use the mic

It's good for a change of pace from the usual meta.

no, apples and oranges senpai they're not comparable , squad is basically an improved modern version of project reality , basically more streamlined and logistics-based arma-type gameplay.

any half decent server kicks lonewolfs\micless

There is night mode in doi?

Arma 3 is better.

if you like armashit it's fun
but if you're sane it's garbage

Squad is still the only game (besides PR) where they managed to make players who never met before to actively communicate and use mics on public servers.
It's really fun and easily the most engaging multiplayer experience I have ever had.

Navigating with your gunner in an MTLB, setting up on a highway bridge and shooting enemy transports, storming a highrise with your squad, typing in coordinates into your calculator to give to your mortarman, there really is nothing like it.

except arma when you join a milsim group but fuck that I don't have the time for that anymore.

I just wish the engine and netcode were not complete and utter indie tier shit.

It is a great idea and I play the fuck out of it, but the lack of polish kills me.

>netcode were not complete

I agree that the movement is kinda clunky, but whats wrong with the netcode? I have never noticed any kind of desync / rubberbanding and it's miles ahead of something like Arma.

9.9 gave me +15 FPS and the animation update will fix a lot of issues I have with the movement, thing are looking great.

lol no, you dun fucked up.

Its a lot different than insurgency.

I'd say in terms of military shooters, squad sits right between ARMA and Rising Storm 2 in terms of how arcade-y it feels. Slower and more in-depth than RS2 but still faster and more action packed than ARMA 3.

really? sometimes I get shitty defenders who sit on their asses sniping instead of moving to the point but generally people work together

You should read opinions before buying the game, retard.

He's right tho retard, just play the damn game

>a DOD:S ripoff
See Days of War.

Day of Infamy is more of classic Day of Defeat, yet it's still different. Though it has DoD map in it, Valve let them make one and they even let them use DoDS assets while in alpha.

Squad is great but it's nothing like INS. It's a successor to Project Reality, a Battlefield 2 mod that basically fits in between Battlefield and something like ARMA in realism.

Also, there's a WWII version of Squad coming out called Post Scriptum (by another team)

Well, its nothing like insurgency...but yes.

>that MG could be me

Do people play DOI? I know it had a rough launch (that I bought into and never touched again despite having a really good time with it)

I play lots of Squad, lots of Onward (VR milsim), Rainbow Six Siege and I think DOI and going back to Insurgency until the sequel comes out would be a nice change of pace. That and Dirty Bomb.

apparently people still play the mod for ins of all things, but standalone DOI usually see 3-500 players daily with several full servers in NA and EU

>Do people play DOI?
Yes. It has small but dedicated playerbase. You should find few populated servers at any time. Update with new maps soon, so it should boost the playerbase for a month or two.

Honestly I started playing the game with love hate relationship, now it's the only multiplayer game I play on regular basis.

Awesome thanks senpai I'm hyped to play it again. Also I heard that Days of War game died pretty much immediately lmao

>Also I heard that Days of War game died pretty much immediately lmao
Yeah, I mean it's quite literally DoDS with worse performance, no playerbase, more obscure graphics and less visibility.

Didn't Valve take it down because they copied their DOD maps?

They made Donner, but were forced to take it down.

It was way funner than DoD Source, it played more like old school DoD imo, DoD:S had shit weapon variety.

shame the developers seem clueless though
