Does Cave Story deserve all the praise it gets?
Does Cave Story deserve all the praise it gets?
Yes
Absolutely yes. It was the game that made indies popular.
Yeah but don't start threads with furfag images
Yes, considering it was made entirely by one single chink.
The furry shit and some lines are cringy though.
9.5/10 game for me.
Yes, especially considering the time it was made in. If it was released today it wouldn't get that same amount of praise. Now post them
Of course.
This game was released in 2004 and was made by a single person. Unlike nowadays, indie games weren't a thing back then and this game changed my view about indies.
Even indie games didn't really take off until 2009 or so.
Plus, it was fucking free.
What praise does it even get nowadays? It didn't even make the latest PC Gamer Top 100. I mean, whatever that's worth.
yes because the game has always been freeware and made out of devotion instead of what indietrash today goes for
No, apart from the fact that it was made by one person.
the story of Pixel and Nicalis is why fuck publishers
Yes it does. It's an amazing game that was all made by one person and it's timeless. It was basically the first real indie freeware hit.
Isn't PC Gamer's #1 game fucking Skyrim or something? They aren't worth the time of day.
Absolutely.

There always have to be this one faggot.
Wasn't Braid the first big indie game?
2008 it is.
4 years later. Althought I loved Braid as well.
Castle Crashers, darwinia, aquaria, audiosurf and gish were all pretty big back then.
The people that do this are just losers looking for the attention they never received from their parents, just ignore them.
It was alright
10 years ago, absolutely. I first played it on my PSP due to a top tier homebrew porting of it. Finished it, played it again on PC with the true ending.
Nowadays, it's really nothing special and there's much better metroidvanias out there, better looking, better controlling, better stories, better everything in some cases. It's a good tale of pure passion creating something amazing, but it hasn't been amazing or relevant in at least 5 years, probably more.
