Good open ear headphones + modmic

None.
Get headphones and a mic seperately. If you buy a "gaming headset" you either don't care about your money at all, or are just ignorant.

grow up and get headphones + mic.

and tell us your budget or this thread is meaningless

150$, I already have a Blue snowball. So I just need a decent headset

You don't need a headset just get some good headphones

The headphones and mic meme is bullshit. Half the time people say just buy a pair of Sennheisers and a cheap mic, but cheap mics shit themselves often and even if they have decent sound quality, they pick up a lot of ambient sounds as well. You need a good mic if you want to not annoy everyone you're playing with, but then by that point with the headphones you're dropping 2-3x as much as you would for a decent headset. They're less convenient too because you've got more cords hanging around and a high chance of knocking it over with a desktop mic.

Buy good headphones and a good mic if you want to record youtube videos or something. Just buy a headset if you just want to play games with your friends. Don't get some Razer RGB 7.1 bullshit though. Something like one of the Kingston HyperX Clouds would be fine.

Anyone have that diy pic from Sup Forums that has the mic connected to a headphone with an adhesive Velcro strip?

>$100 audiotechnica headphones
>$4 mic
Nobody ever said a bad thing about my mic. Fuck off with your bullshit. You don't need a $100-150 mic to chat with faggots on voice.
Fuck off with your headsets faggot.

...

>$100 audiotechnica headphones
Oh look you've already spent twice what you need to for a decent headset. Well done I guess.

I use the ps4 gold headset, which sounds pretty good considering I got it for 30 bucks a long ass time ago, my only complain is how cheap the material is, I've had to use electrical tape to hold this thing together.

Headphones and a $7 clipon mic.

>they pick up a lot of ambient sounds as well
No more than the mic on a gaming headset, unless you're dropping serious cash on a compressor mic. Use push to talk like everyone else who didn't grow up playing online games on consoles.

hyperx cloud II

>No more than the mic on a gaming headset
That's not true though, because unless you rig up something like this
the mic will be much further from your mouth than on a headset.

Using it for 8 years not a single problem so far.
No fucking headset will serve for 8 years.
So yeah fuck off.

I've never had a mic die on me, but a ton of headsets have. I have like 6 of those detachable headset mics lying around somewhere.

How about a piece of tape?

>audiotechnica meme
>nobrand mic
How strong is that dissonance user, I can already feel your brain liquefy.

I have had Denon, Sennheiser and Bose headphones die on me but never once a headset. Anecdotal evidence only takes us so far.

does it have lights?

if no, its good

...

not him but what are you even talking about

where do you get these in the UK?

amazooooon
>inb4 too young to pay online

wrong board. Sup Forums loves gaming headsets.

logitech g430
sound quality is alright as long as you don't use the surround sound meme
mic works fine
only problem is cheap plastic that tends to break where the ear cups swivel, but the warranty on them is pretty good

link pls as I can't find those mics on amazon uk

Wireless

I have those HD 202. 30€, you don't need anything else.

And a cheap mic.10-15 €, nobody complains, everything sounds good.

Don't waste your money.

None.
It never matters what the price is, shit breaks down like nothing else.
I paid 200 goddamn dollars and ALL I ASK FOR IS A DECENTLY DURABLE MODEL WITH WIRES THAT WONT CRAP OUT, BUT NOOOOOOOOOO

I recommend $20 Wal-mart DeluxeListen. You know it's going to fuck up, so get the rock bottom and deal with mediocre sound. Excellent.

those are probably better than 200$ headsets
what mic do you use user

I like Afterglow. I've never had a pair crap out on me. It's usually the cord or me losing the wireless adapter. If the cord craps out, I just buy an aux xord from 7/11 or something. make sure to get the wireless ones though.

posting the classic

Niegro, I have microphones and earphones older than you that still work.

My nugga. Also that long ass chord is great for the Switch when docked.

I had a Razer Carcharias and I liked it so much I bought it again after it died. I've been made to understand it's a low quality headset in both sound and mic quality but it sounded fine to me, and I never got complaints about the mic. They're so comfortable it's like wearing pillows on your ears. I've moved on to Sennheiser headphones since then though.

My PS4 Platinums cost $160 and have reliably worked since I bought them nearly a year ago. If they last another year and a half or so, they're commensurate in value to a pair of Vans. They also have fantastic 3D sound (you can hear where sounds are coming from as if you were in the actual game world)

Should've gone with Superlux instead. The HD 668b, for instance, sounds much better for the same price of 30 euros.

moved away from a headset at the beginning of the month.

>DT770 pro 250 ohm headphones
>Snowball (i know meme mic) + Boom and pop

its pretty fucking great man, need to do something about the mechanical keyboard and mouse clicks.

A really cheap one from a supermarket.
I know it's not good, but I'm usually muted and just speak to say some calls while playing with friends that aren't qualityfags.

If it breaks then I will spend time looking for a nice quality/price mic.

Thanks, if I need new ones I might buy those.

>Get headphones and a mic seperately
Not necessary.

HyperX Cloud
Sennheiser PC360
Philips SHP9500 + V-Moda BoomPro

Sony mdrv6, ~8 dollar mic of Amazon

HyperX Core or Cloud is fine. They sound pretty good, mic quality isn't bad, they feel comfortable on your head even with big ears and are sturdy enough.
