it has bad hardware.

it has bad hardware

some Gamestop employees claim Nintendo will launch a Switch Pro during 2018

it has REALLY bad hardware

Don't buy it. You're not cool enough to be on Team Switch.

The hardware is not very good, user

imo the money is better spent on PC, but the switch is pretty cool. my gf has it with Breath of the Wild and Mariocart.

Highly likely that a Switch 2.0 will get released makes me hesitate.

samefag

no console hardware is good. PC for hardware, console for games.

99% it will be eventually. It's the console way.

It used to be "buy pc and upgrade, or buy console and you don't have to"

ohh. the old days lol

i don't understand all the people who seem to think nintendo is going to release a revision less than a year after the console came out. nintendo always waits 3+ years to do a revision IF the console sells a shit ton. if it fails to meet expectations no revision will ever be done.

nintendo can barely afford to buy current switch components at its price point. they wouldnt be able to get away with a 400 dollar version

GBA - 2001
GBA SP - 2003
DS - 2004
DS Lite - 2006
3DS - 2011
3DS XL - 2012

It won't happen anytime soon but it eventually will happen. And the thought that you buy a console that will get updated later just sucks. And as of now the switch doesn't even have any promising portable savegame option.

they are called retards, user

just get GPD win. switch is only successful because it's nintendo. if you want games and portability, GDP win is superior

>Listening to Gamestop employees
>Spending money at Gamestop
>Being at a Gamestop

You are literally the worst kind of human.
Pic unrelated.

It's alright, still feels a bit dry on games sometimes, but its nice to be able to game in handheld mode with something else going on the tv. It's great for Indies too thanks to portability.

I didn't regret buying it at launch for Zelda and Mario is around the corner.

ok 2 years apart on average.

3ds being the exception with early 2011 and the XL mid to late 2012

go waste your money in whatever the fuck you want

You don't need it though, it's just gonna be some slight changes but it's the same console.
I'm considering buying a ps4 sometime and when I do I might as well buy the regular version to save money.

Mine did actually bend from heat so might wanna wait for a hardware revision

It might be something irrelevant but it may be a significant update too, you never know.

>still pushing this
Holy fuck lmao it's embarrassing at this point

Consoles come out roughly on 5-6 year cycles, and Switch is a home console since the latest Direct showed 3DS is still supported.

No. The switch looks like it at least might be better than the Wii U. It's already having RPGs made for it so that's always a good sign. If the switch keeps the announcements coming at a consistent rate it could be fast approaching gamecube consistency.

Nintendo is never going to get the third party support to go back to SNES days but this is the next best thing. SO FAR. I should emphasize that. If nintendo goes braindead like they did with the wii u I'm going to be extremely upset again

Buy it to make sonybros mad

I'm an idort and the only thing that will make me happier is if more people become idorts

The Switch is already better than the WiiU ever was. That wasn't hard.

the controller is worse than n64

Enjoy it, user.
I'm not too big on the Bing-Bing Wahoo machine, but if you're travelling a lot, I could see the appeal of Skyrim portable or some shit.

Why do people constantly make threads like this? Thinking that random strangers on the internet need to convince them not to buy something, instead of just, you know, thinking about it for yourself. I bought one cause I wanted to own one. I didn't need to create a thread to reach that conclusion and neither should you.

That's not true and will not be true until those games launch. And still won't be true until sometime next year. The Wii U had just under two dozen worthwhile games. The switch so far has
Mario
Zelda (multi)
Splat (multi)
Mariokart (multi)
XB2
FEH
Octo
Fast
and then a bunch of ports

It's barely 6 months old and sells really well. There is no chance that there will be a switch 2 any time soon.

you forgot to call mario, rmx, and FE musou ports or multiplats too

Mario odyssey is a port or multiplat?
Or is this poking fun at my overall statement. These days I can never tell anymore.

Splatoon literally isn't a multiplat though what

>I'm going to get a switch tomorrow
Lucky bastard. It's sold out everywhere where I'm at.

Yeah you're right, I'm sorry.

Probably because you called Splatoon 2 a multiplat instead of a rehash which it effectively is.

The frame drops in BotW were really disconcerting at first when playing in full screen mode, I began to understand as time went on that the thing is basically just a flagship handheld. The idea is fun and interesting the only problem is that the dock doesn't improve the hardware or the processing power, just uspcales the image. Some games will come out that look better in the future but if the game isn't a switch exclusive it'll look better on pretty much any other console. I was hoping for the MHXX to be on the switch so that I wouldn't have to wait too long for something to really sink my time into, but so far aside from BotW and Disgaea all the games are devoid of any type of true competition, the only thing worth pursuing in games without an interesting or fulfilling single player mode. It's literally a tablet with attachable controllers that have an awkward motion gimmick that you will rarely use. And without any real cooling or impressive build quality, it's doomed to overheat, break, or crack in some awful fashion that will no doubt not be covered by the warranty. But of course if you want to spend your own money to buy a piece of crap that plays Nintendo games so that they can keep the lights on then go ahead. In my opinion the Switch should be the successor of the 3DS, should have better processing power, cooling, and they should have worked on something else as their flagship.

I use this skin on my copters in terraria

If you already have a gaming PC the Switch isn't bad. It's comfy lying in bed playing comfy games like mario shit.

It's probably not the best console to own exclusively if you are into deeper games though

BOTW on Switch maxes out at 25 FPS on the TV. The WiiU version reaches 30.

It has REALLY bad hardware.

>BOTW on Switch maxes out at 25 FPS on the TV.

wrong.

That's 100 true though.

Bad hardware for a home console, fantastic hardware for a handheld

The DS still got new games when the 3DS game out. The GBA still got new games when the DS came out.

Why would you get a Switch? Monster Hunter isn't Nintendo anymore.

Patched in an update, but keep trying

This is a terrible place for information

This. Nintendo will kill off the 3DS when the Switch becomes more affordable

In a year it will be undoubtedly the far better purchase. This is an undeniable fact.

MonHun is barely MonHun anymore.

but XX just released on Switch a couple weeks ago

They patched it to be more stable at 25. But the Switch can only achieve 30 fps in BOTW in handheld mode

no

The absolute state of you

Japan release only.

t. sour grapes

generations sucked and is also on 3ds

Prove it then

Not after the patch, and the Switch port was very rushed.

wasn't even true before the patch...

youtube.com/watch?v=w6NkNgI1ssw

Switch is region free
you not liking it doesn't mean that a monster hunter game isn't on the switch though

It does have bad hardware. But just see if there are exclusive games that you want

This is actually correct I just watched the fps increase update videos on youtube. They all show BotW being capped at 30 fps. But it appears to run pretty smoothly at that frame rate but it still hurts my eyes after a while after being spoiled by 144 or even 60 fps.

didn't stop me

it has bad hardware
still you can play with it

Nintendo made 2 pokemon games around the end of the next year, I'd hardly call that continued support. 3rd Party titles were also LEGO games and movie/cartoon tie-ins

why do you lie?

Just got one. Its a bit disappointing.

1. No games. Mario will come out soon, but other than that there isn't actually that much coming out.

2. No Netflix/ Hulu/ Youtube. I dont understand why Nintendo has to be retarded and not have these.

3. No virtual console. Similar to 2., I don't understand why the hell Nintendo didn't ship the system with this. Seems lazy as fuck.

kek

I always wanted to play monster hunter, but never had a console that could run it. dammit.

it looks like they're holding off on Virtual Console until after SNESC comes out so it doesn't eat into sales

Why would I buy a Switch for a lazy ((capcom)) port that will never be localized when I could buy a 3DS and play the same game AND also have vastly superior MH4U?

>Implying that I should support a game or company that has no western release planned or in the works because of them being butt hurt over Sony getting a new contract.

Those fucking jews

it's pretty fun but has a pretty big learning curve, once it clicks it really clicks and suddenyl 200+ hours pass

nigger you can emulate FU and P3rd on a damn chinkpad

you do you

>emulate

as long as that means they're including SNES support, then that's okay with me.

if anything, itll be a worse purchase, as we will be much closer to the inevitable hardware revision

MY FUCKING JOYCON BROKE 2 DAYS AGO

it´s not holding anymore in the tablet and grip
>making a plastic clip holded by metall
thank you cucktendo

Also the game is fan-translated on 3DS. I hope nobody bought a Switch with the primary intention of playing MH

why the fuck would you not emulate a damn PSP game, it's not like you're missing out on some CRT type screen which is important for older games. The only thing you miss out on is having to squint into a tiny ass screen and having to contort your hands into a claw to actually play the game effectively.

That makes sense though so that you can only damage the much less expensive, replaceable controller.

Hardware is meh, software is fucking great

>dat horny face
100% errected

>hassle
the emulator doesn't even use plugins, you fucking lazy furfaggot

you literally fucking download an iso and drop it into PPSSPP, if you want to play a MH game but complain that you have no means of playing it, then you're an even bigger idiot and furfag than I thought

3DS has a fan translation and you can play MH4U. It might be worth getting a Switch for XX if the laziest fucking company when it comes to ports on the planet wasn't Capcom. All they did was touch up the textures a bit. They didn't even bump it up to 60 frames.

where do you buy your games other than gamestop you big cuck? either way the gamestop employee posted in a FB group i dont go there

Not him but local or online

>where do you buy your games other than gamestop you big cuck?
Walmart or Amazon personally

switch owner here

of course it has bad hardware. but its also 300, pretty durable, and has a ton of great games

enjoy yours bro

Don't care. I'll be buying World twice on PC and PS4 pro but I love my Switch to death

Even if it is, the model one Switch will remain compatible with all the games. The only thing a model two might give is more battery life and a different sized screen.

As a standalone piece of hardware, it's pretty darn impressive. It's slick, comfortable and almost silent (after the 20 second start up fan).
If you're going to compare the hardware to home consoles it's not as impressive, the power it offers is just sad, only enough to keep up with the current gen but when you consider that they had to do it in 1/30th of the size it's incredible

Wait for the Odyssey bundle
