>Tiny PvE story with no real challenge or interest
>PvP with only one unranked mode
>Random items drops with no way to delete useless items, so you're stuck with 50 pairs of pants
>Weapons (who actually can modify your playstyle) are random drops
>Frequent bug, notably in loading screen (even had to restart my computer once or twice)
>Runs lie complete ass in PvP and the servers are irregular
>Not balanced enough with some styles being way more powerful and forgiving than others and some powers being a requirement.
It's fucking incredible, what drugs are you on?
For Honor already exists
Hardcore buyer's remorse. It took them way too long to fix the online and by then I just lost all interest in playing. Fucking hell.
>pvp fighting is major selling point
>netcode is absolute garbage
It's a good game, but very challenging.
For me it's the fact that doing PvE in no way prepares you for PvP. You can do PvP for like 10 matches before you get burned out, depending on the opponents.
During the first days there were people who'd play 12-20 hours per day and dominate noobs in PvE and PvP. After a week, it got a bit better, but I still couldn't feel like I was matched evenly (because I suck).
>take For Honor combat
>make it only 1v1
>no interesting characters instead of lanky monks
>"b-but look at this customizable move set!"
has anyone uploaded The RZA's track yet?
This
It's the exact same problem as for honor
Except For Honor had fun core gameplay dragged down by Ubishit incompetence. Absolver on the other hand is an all round shit game with a nice artstyle.
barely
more alive than Absolver
>Grab Punch spammer won a tourney
I WARNED YOU ABOUT GRAB PUNCH AND CHARGED MOVES IN GENERAL BRO, I WARNED YOU
At least he beat the annoying tranny
Was it streamed?
If only the character was more customizable, not only clothes..
But yeah, it's kinda bland after you've played the story.
PvE is fun but small and the real challenge comes when you're getting swarmed, which is not fun.
balancing is odd and surely in a month or two we'll have a stupid meta that everyone is following
I can already foresee that it's probably gonna be something with literally every move in the combo being a defensive attack so that if the enemy tries to attack they'll miss and get hit, drunken and windfall are pretty bad and scale awfully, so I bet people will just use Forsaken mostly.
Anyway, it's a cool game if you have a friend you can spar and be rivals with, but seeing as you are forced to go in to PVP to get gear, you'll just get annoyed.
For Honor and Absolver both have one thing the other doesn't, if they each had what the other lacks, we'd have 2 of the most interesting games of the year.
For Honor lacks attentive, fast reacting developers and more customizable fighting
Absolver lacks content, fleshed out story and more moba-esque teamplay (I'm sorry for saying this, but it's one of the reasons for honor is still alive)
Absolver also lacks any kind of inventory management, whcih I'm 100% sure they just forgot to add. I don't know, they were probably in a hurry to release the game in time or something.
I could have honestly waited half a year longer if it meant a bigger PvE world and some kind of shop / trade / salvage system to use the extra stuff you have.
It could also help if you'd actually keep the moves you've learned accountwide, so if you make a new character you won't need to farm moves and equipment
Very bad matchmaking, netcode
p2p
Servers issues
If I wanted to play a watered down fighter, I'd play For Honor or Tekken.
yes
twitch tv/videos/174940002
you forgot
>portion of PVE content hidden behind PVP grind
jesus christ user it sounded like you were raped.
devolver rushed it out as an unfinished mess. for all intents and purposes, it's an early access game, except it's sold a 30 dollar "finished" product.
>no open beta for stress testing servers and raising awareness of the game, which is just stupidity considering it's a niche 30 dollar game that people didn't want to buy because they didn't know if it would be good or if it would still be alive in 3 weeks (at this rate, it won't)
>netcode/servers are still a mess after almost 3 weeks
>a lot of very important features are missing, such as ranked ladder, which REALLY does not help when people are throwing the game away for being too hard or too easy in PvP
>game was advertised as having PvE, PvE is more or less a glorified MMO hub with enemies standing around
>PvP is unbalanced as showcased by the recent reddit tournament, but the devs are taking balance advice from the loud shitters on steam forums instead of the actually good players, so instead of nerfs for grab punch, we get buffs for kahlt (which was already good in the hands of a good player) and nerfs for jabs (which already weren't great against good players)
that about sums it up
Indie for honor with terrible graphic style
Tell me there are at least one online game that isn't PUBG or Overwatch that is good I can play
I am tired of supporting dead games
Makes me think if street fighter had a deck system, it would be pretty unique and you can save your deck to a usb so you can take it to tourneys.
Terrible? no way
It's simple but it also has it's own charm, kinda like that one survival game "The long dark"
It's easier to make than tryhard graphics, while still looking good and it's easier for the eyes when doing fastpaced combat.
If I had a choice, I'd always take simple good graphics over complicated tryhard graphics that still look unnatural and weird
The combat is waaaaay deeper than For Honor
>>>Random items drops with no way to delete useless items, so you're stuck with 50 pairs of pants
Fucking seriously?
Kek, I actually remember those posts but too many were focused on parrying
But sadly, it's also less fun
It's fun to make your own combos, but it's complete ass that you can't choose from every move, it has to start and end correctly for you to be allowed to use it. It's simple on paper but you can't remember what abilites start and end where, so you're constantly forced to check what you can take and what goes elsewhere.
It's tedious as fuck it and kills the joy of deck making, especially when you haven't learned that ONE move you need to get your combo work like you want it to.
This, also servers were constantly down
Then where would you plug in your stick?
Yep, but I'm certain they forgot to add inventory management.in their deadline rush.
I expect some kind of inventory management system it to be implemented in the next month or so.
I'm sure they're well aware
that guy might have also been me, i ranted the fuck out of that move in an old general
boards.fireden.net
this was me, i saw all of this coming. note all the people calling me bad at the game for pointing out how broken the move is
shortly after making that post, i also made this video
youtube.com
it's especially funny because at 5:07, i fight against the actual guy who won the last tournament, and i took a round off him with a joke build i was playing for the literal first time in a real match, and the main reason he 3-1'd me was because he was using grab punch himself, except he was serious about it instead of just memeing around for the camera like me
artstyle
publisher
it's boring
It's a shame this game had to go down the shitter this quickly, I really enjoyed it
you must wonder what kind of player is still playing this game
i waited for this game for like a year, preordered it and have been playing it every day for the past 2 weeks or so. the server issues didn't make me give up, nor did the low content, nor did grab punch being obviously overpowered. i think what broke me was seeing the meta mold into a real cancerfest of spamming evasive moves and just throwing yourself at your opponent, and seeing the devs respond to it by BUFFING that style of play. almost everyone else has left already. i just can't endure this shit for any longer
Lack of singleplayer content. Don't really care about PVP.
Jesus, I'm glad I waited it out.
not that many people are into fighting games or pure pvp games
'
plus there are better options for that
Mordhau alpha came out
CS GO?
CSGO, Dota, TF2. I heard paladins was fun too.
