It's not a JRPG it's a Monster Hunter clone but yes it's pretty good if you're into that sort of thing.

Never played Monster Hunter, any decent on keyboard and mouse? All my shit is packed away and I'm trying to find something cheap to tide me over.

I did like some Blood Arts honestly. I thought both games were pretty good.
I'm upset they never fixed the multiplayer lobbies being bugged to hell and back though.
I liked this for being fast and bullet autism

My main problem is that blood arts are a fucking grind and don't add as much possibilities are the devouring style of Resurrection.
They just increase the damage of one specific attack and that's it

That's true. I haven't played through the entirety of resurrection because I played it back in the day on the psp where devouring styles weren't a thing.
I should get back to it sometime when I dont know what to play.
But yeah, my major issue is mp lobbies breaking with more than two people. sad, really.
It's a fun game and I have four friends who own it yet we can't play together

Not a jrpg, although both games have a decent plot and great characters. You have to enjoy grindy fighting the same monsters for 100 hours in different progressively nastier combinations, anime dialed up to 11, and fast action combat.
I fucking loved it for what it was and had a blast, but prepare for the crowd of "BUT ITS NOT MONSTER HUNTER" types that hate it for not being their game.
I rather liked the idea behind blood arts, it just needed to let us equip 2-3 so we weren't just spamming one move the entire fight.

I played resurrection first and god damn was it hard to get into 2 without quick devour.

Yea, having 2-3 blood art would have helped but it needed something more than that.
I'm curious what they'll do for GE3

It started off as a monster hunter clone.
Its kind of shit though.
The games I've played have had serious balancing issues.
Like the sword with Hold, meteor bullets, the difficulty increase just being additional HP basically.
The blood arts are flashy but you basically just spam them last I checked.
I'd rather just wait for MH to release.

Was it successful enough to get a third game?
I vaguely recall it being unsuccessful in Japan.
Maybe we'll just have to play Code Vein, that's similar, right? I havent bothered to watch any videos of it yet

It's already announced but we probably won't get info until after Code Vein comes out. I'm looking forward to it because I like the direction resurrections gameplay was going

Devour style is pretty fun compared to blood arts
it also made the gameplay and lore better at representing the living symbiotic weapon that is your god arc

G2RB should have given us devour styles and 2-3 blood arts for variety, and balanced them to make it work.
More stuff to play around with is always more fun, and I can imagine some really cool blood art and devour synergies

Devs but Capcom can't into good Combat

They're making a 3rd, it's been announced. But it's also getting slowed down by Code Vein and their God Eater cell phone game.

GER is a remake of the the first game but was made last so it has a lot of quality of life fixes like being able to sort your weapons by type and shit. Predator styles weren't in the game originally.

I have my gripes with Rage Burst but I still prefer it over Resurrection. Predator Styles are fucking great though and only being able to equip one Blood Art is lame I admit although it's not like I need any more with IRON HEART, but I love my anime power-up mode that comes with its own theme song.
2 also has my favourite autistfu.

the game is broken however, there are issues that still haven't been fixed, some minor and some literally game-breaking such as the multiplayer forever loading thing

the devs abandoned any support and there will never be a patch for it

Iron Heart made the game too easy for me, I ended up playing worse.
Slash Raid was my baby, I used it to zip around the fights.

Honestly, how they designed the lobby system in the first place fucked them. I think I've played like 20min of multiplayer since it always looked empty. Play some Toukiden 2 if you want decent multiplayer, although it's Koei so even the sale prices are too fucking expensive.

Your loss, games pretty fun. The new grappling hook is tight and the open world is solid.
I preferred God Eater since it had more to do and you could upgrade your companions, but I got a decent 60 hours out of Toukiden 2 just doing the story.

The game often goes into an infinite loading screen during post-mission when playing with 3 or more players online. You lose all the progress you made during that mission, and that was more than enough to turn me away from playing. It was the steam version of the game, and about a year ago. Don't know if it has been fixed, but I doubt it.

Is the NA steam version censored in any way? if it is is there any sort of uncensor patch?

Shitty story. Gameplay is fun but don't try to do every missions.

Flash both and order to split up and hope that they get separated. Your AI party can handle themselves while you deal with one of them.

When in doubt, stun grenade + disperse.

Just buy the steam bundle. Play through Ressurection then God Eater 2. That's the entire franchise so far besides the mobile shit.

AI is good up until the endgame hardest fights. Than they just die all the time since they can't block worth a shit.
Also remember to bring Kanon.

Yeah, I'm slightly excited because it looks basically like a God Eater game that's not held back by being designed for a handheld.

I just don't want the exact same far east branch lobby yet again. I was so pumped with the moving city, and than nope it's far east for the rest of the game. Oh and an inventory alphabetized in english, by the end of the game searching to craft that one item you need takes ages.

Icredibly cheesy but somewhat entertaining Monster Hunter clone that does it's own thing. The grind isn't particularly bad, the AI isn't completely braindead, the music is pretty good, amusing side characters, has some wonky difficulty spikes, and incredible bullet modification. Overall it's pretty fun, but if your tolerance for anime tropes is low it will likely irritate you, its also dub only, so if that a hang up fr you then pass on it.

Yes, but not with Resurrection because it was made after Rage Burst.
If you had the originals on the PSP you could do it for some bonus mats and money as well as your first game protag mentioned by the name you gave them.
