Hey Sup Forums I want to get into horror games. I've never played one before. What are some good ones to check out? The only ones I'm familiar with are Silent Hill, F.E.A.R., and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Are any of these good?

Amnesia: TDD has really good atmosphere, it leaves you constantly scared and dreading moving forward. The sequel was pretty meh though, still worth playing but keep expectations low.

F.E.A.R fisrt one was good.

The Penumbra series is worth a look too. You have weapons but they do little to empower you.

SH2 is standalone, so no.

You should check this one out too, Haunting Groundwas one of few game that can scary shit out of me, it's shame that Capcom will never make new IP horror game ever again.

Fear is subjective, so it's hard to say.

Silent Hill 1-3 have awesome atmosphere, and the stories are pretty fucked up. Some of my favorite games.

The remake of Resident Evil 1 also has awesome atmosphere. Also one of my favorite games.

I think the original Amnesia is pretty fun. The story is cool.

I played the first F.E.A.R. once, I remember it mostly being a FPS with occasional spooks, that get scarier as you get further in.

SCP Containment Breach is pretty scary but you might need to know the source material first.

Extermination is a good knock off of RE for the PS2.

Play Anatomy, it's just 2 dollars.

Well some of us like fun, you miserable git. A lot of it is good because it's silly.

The Statue and Radical Larry are still the big ones, though the plague doctor and the builder bear can show up. More human dangers too.
