So I'm looking for a hidden gem of a PC game, something kind of old and hidden. Any ideas?

I don't see people talk about the Shadowgrounds games very often, but they're quite good. They even have level editors, but I don't know if anyone ever used them.

Nox
Rune
Master of Magic
Hammerfight
Cortex Command

Arx fatalis

Kero Blaster
Eliot Quest
Geat Permutator

>Master of Magic

There was a game that came out around 2007. Armageddon Empires. It's turn based game with card elements on a hex board. I tried it again a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't hold up to current games like Xcom and Civ. Maybe it's just nostalgia but I had fun when it first came out.

Freedom force.

Vampire The Masquerade

PUBG

Its not so old these days but the EDF games are pretty fun considering how barebones they are.

Dark Reign
Incoming

Sentient (1997)

Moonbase Commander.
Its hard to explain, but very intuitive to play strategy game.

Skyrim, my friend

The Void, underappreciated compared to Pathologic, i think its better anyway.
A lot of people forget about zeno clash 1/2 also nowadays.

>Hidden gems

It's like trying to find buried treasure in a litter box.

Joke's on you. I hide my porno mags in my cat's litterbox.

Majesty,
Outpost 2

Hammerfight.

Physics based helicopter melee duels and monster hunting.

What genres do you like?

Gorky 17. Survival Horror SRPG

Treasure of Rudras

Interwoven storylines of world ending mixed with objectively best magic system ever developed Morrowind comes close second but it doesn't have you copying spells from bosses and improving them

silver

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile
store.steampowered.com/app/268990/The_Dishwasher_Vampire_Smile/
does that count as a hidden gem?

Floor 13.

>Mr. Garcia is here to see you.

Anachronox.

Warfront: Turning Point

It's an alternate reality WWII game where America and Germany team up against the Soviets

The void PC
One of my favorite games ever, never seen discussed there

Slipstream 5000

...

>tfw the Nox multiplayer has been down for over a decade

It's like having and itch you can't scratch

>not realizing it was bait

Terminal Velocity.

Not the same user but I second this. The Void is awesome.

Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi (currently on sale for $0.99 on Steam, and also in a $1.00 bundle on Bundle Stars which is basically this game plus 49 bad ones)

Hammerwatch (currently $9.99 on Steam but was $1.99 in the last sale)

Lovely Planet (currently $5.99 on Steam but has gone as low as $1.19)

The Swapper (currently $14.99 on Steam but has gone as low as $2.84)

These games are all very different, so read about what they're like instead of just blindly buying them and saying "b-b-but Sup Forums said it was good" when you realize you don't like the genre. Nosferatu in particular is a first-person horror shooter with a slightly randomized environment, escort objectives, and a time limit. Not everyone will like it, but I did.

Is Hammerfight really that good? I got it from a Humble Bundle about five years ago, and didn't play it. Those old bundles had a lot of good games, so I was busy playing the others, and then I kind of forgot about this one.

Thats a hard question. It has lots of problems but it is also utterly unique and very fun if you can get over those problems. The fighting is tough to get used to, but has the sort of viscera, heavy feel you rarely get. When you hit something with a good blow, you REALLY feel it. I would say to play it for a few hours to see what you think.

Oh and the guy that made it has a new game in the works that looks great

It gets mentioned here once in a while, but Arcanum is a definite gem.

Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter

This game gets overlooked by everyone.
