Interesting enemies doesn't make up for the fact that open world Ubisoft style sandboxes are overdone. I really wish devs wouldn't all fixate on one genre at a time after a few successful games of the type, variety is much more interesting.

Ninty doesn't get many games due to lack of cross platforming and they have a core audience of absolute fanatics. Plus the nostalgia thing.

This game actually blew me away. They took a tired and cliched premise and made it different and fresh, with some pretty good characterization along the way.

Aloy is also prime daughterfu material, even after she takes you to ab city in the Blazon outfit.

It's typical GG: great setpieces but everything else is just garbage.

Awful story and characters, half the budget went to voice acting and the other half to the graphics. It's a great looking game but that's it. The gameplay and world are shallow and bland. Even games like Far Cry 3 and Assassins Creed have better stories (at least not as invasive), gameplay, and exploration.

Shame about her face she is great everywhere else. Especially those hips and abs. On launch I watched a live playthrough and then hips and grunts made the game bearable to watch.

I liked the game, there is just nothing really to talk about. I would say it takes up the same space Assassin's Creed did. They were fun but not really exciting to talk about besides speculation, which HZD doesn't give much to think about.

With that said, they should have made more interesting lore and mechanics so we keep coming back to it. Hard mode was fun, but it really just put in damage modifiers.

Some people seemed to think so, I played it for 16 hours and dropped it because it just became more and more boring and uninteresting with how much it tries to make you get engaged with the story and side quest characters that all suck. Dragons Dogma, Shadow of Mordor, Arkham Asylum, etc, are all vastly superior games as far as world building, exploration, and gameplay goes.

Except with even less things to do and less dynamic events and design. Somehow we've gone backwards since 2009's Assasins Creed 2, say what you will about the series, but AC2 balanced story and gameplay much better and had a world that felt alive with so much shit to do and great exploration, and I get that Horizon is post apocalypse, but it still is lacking in immersion and interesting things to do. Fucking Far Cry Blood Dragon has more enemy variety and more interesting combat encounters than Horizon.
