i like the game, but holy shit -- what the fuck is going on? that's a lot of people.
going in RIGHT NOW. meet me at school, fgts
PUBG
IT WAS MEANT TO FAIL
THEY SAID IT WAS FOTM
Shoulda seen it earlier today. It was almost 1.4 million.
>relatively obscure western game
>becomes popular in china
>completely obliterates all western records
that's all it takes. you are right to be afraid
Chinese bots who farms boxes for money
>western
Just for a big king of the hill game. This shit says something about shooters nowadays.
What do you mean what's going? It's the weekend, naturally a lot more people are going to be playing then.
>popular in china
Its literally idle bots who idle for 300 dollar skirts to sell on Steam.
Not players.
>botting is ended with latest patch
>new high of 1.3 million concurrent
really makes you think
>botting is ended
Oh sweet summer child.
You cannot end botting.
Valve tried that with TF2 and CSGO multiple times and it never works because botters adapt to the situation.
Pewds
>Chink devs
>Majority of the games player base is Chink bots
Really makes you think.
>botting is ended with latest patch
WOW, PUBG has ended botting... I bet they have also cured the world hunger.
The devs are now confirmed the most intelligent people on earth who could end something not even the best companies on earth could end.
This. You can farm "points" which let you obtain sellable items or some shit, all by doing nothing but being in the game. Naturally there are websites/communities devoted to creating bots for this.
Who cares? Pubg is a fantastic containment game for retarded teenagers from all over the world. Its like taking 1 million of the most annoying little memespewing, streamer worshipping little faggots and putting them in a box away from other multiplayer games.
I am thrilled it is doing so well. More power to them.
Steam needs to add market blockades on the Steam market so chinese players cannot trade with NA players.
That is the way to end botting.
But no way Steam is missing out on those hundreds and thousands of ''''''''''''''''players''''''''''''''''.
It's not as braindead easy as it used to be now
>before
>join squad FPP game
>quit as soon as you're in plane
>repeat for easy BP
>now
>you have to at least pick up a gun or kill someone or something productive or make it out of bottom 10
You don't see 20-30 afk zomboids at the ends of flights anymore now
botting has """"ended"""" for the majority of script kids who could copypaste 10 lines of mouse coordinates in ahk / actool.
>professional chinkbotters who have hundreds of PCs linked up in halls are comparable to script kiddies
They do it with PUBG
They do it with mobage
They do it with Dota
They make their living with this. Companies over and over again tried to get rid of them due to them putting immense pressure on every server while also doing illegal trading but they never get rid of them. Ever.
>that many people
Sup Forums, i just realized that i was a part of something so special
There were still at least 500k players and growing before the lootboxes were introduced still making it one of the most popular games out there. You are completely correct about the giant spike recently from china being bots though. Even if bots were completely gone the game is still one of the most popular games out there.
>professionals are comparable to scriptkiddies
>dude wat
people with botnets ready to operate to make thousands daily are comparable to an underage lardass running mousecoord autohotkey on 3 bucks a week.
chinks are only half people, so its ok
Netcafes are crazy popular in China now. Popular PC Games like this are only going to get bigger and bigger. They're publishing in China through Tencent, btw.
over 60% of those are bots farming for drops/crates to sell on market
Pretty typical, reminds of when Runescape had its bot nuke. Chinese player counts and account creation dropped by 99% meaning only 1% of chinese players were actually playing the game.
Chinks don't play FPS at all.
Overwatch has more players in South Korea than it has in China.
That should say something.
If PUBG devs or Valve actually bothered to ban chinks or give them their own servers where only they can play and trade with eachother things would die fast as well.
But no way they are going to miss out on all those game sales.
Unlike Dota 2, this game is actually good and didn't strangle HL3 in its crib
>dota 2 isnt good, pubg is
by what metric
There needs to be a filter for regions/countries
China is completely skewing the numbers, needs to be removed
PUBG is actually competitive and takes skill, and isn't just coasting off of nostalgia, spite, and hats
It's a shitty no-effort sandbox shooter with contemporary realistic lack of art design that appeals to knuckle-dragging normie retards. It's easily marketable via stream-parasites and eceleb trash. Has lots of empty time for streamers to babble out their le funnay memes and garbage political opinions, and for the viewers/casual players to allow them to gather concentration and suspension for a quick blundery burst of action that leaves them creaming even if nothing genuinely exceptional happened.
This game is just minecraft survival with guns.
The next game that has better gameplay and graphics will come along and destroy shitty games like this.
You just sold me on the game, thanks
lol
I too hate my life
it's a korean game you know
...
No u retards
PUBG is new. It's a new game that isn't totally overrun by tryhards and shitters yet.
In 6-7 years, PUBG is gonna be like L4D2 in that regard. The community will shrink wrap itself into the hard core tryhards, but this is assuming they continue updating and improving it.
"B..but overwatch is new too! how come it isn't thriving anymore?"
because overwatch isn't a game that can sustain as well as a game like PUBG. It's more open ended in terms of gameplay, it has better face value for a game that you can boot up with friends and enjoy, and it's not locked to blizzard's shitty games platform.
I mean, yeah it's essentially a glorified ARMA mod, but most successful PC games are offshoot Mods to some degree, dota in particular.
Can you imagine the size of the server buildings?
Considering the company that owns this game are a small korean one it's amazing they managed to handle the success and size up so quick.
>when kim jong un nukes korea, PUBG will die
feels bad man
