Seriously though, has Megaten ever caught any flack from Bible Belt nutjobs? I know that Nocturne received a higher classification in the US than Lucifer's Call did in PAL regions thanks to the occultism aspect, but that's the worst I've heard.

I think it's not popular enough to hit their radars. That and none of the games where you actualyl fight God were officially released in English until 2016.

Remember El Shaddai, that PS3 action game by Okami's lead artist that was based on the Book of Enoch? It's gotten a spinoff that's basically just an SMT clone. It's closest to Strange Journey, apparently. Seems to have gotten 7s and 8s across the board by the Japanese press. English release early next year.

I can't think of any game where the story would benefit by him being in it honestly. While a obviously well knoen figure he isn't fully necessary to be in SMT. Mary is in SMT though, but only in NINE and Strange Journey.

The rest of them push you towards going neutral by showing off the worst of each side. SMT2 is really just full ham to the point of making you despise the law side. It gets to the point where you don't even necessarily have to agree with absolute Chaos, you just know that things would be better without those disturbing lawshitters doing things like sacrificing aparment complexes,brainwashing and murdering family to force obedience.

This is true. Even since tbe beginning the neutral bias is a bit extreme, I say that as a neutralfag. Some games are a bit better, I feel like SJ is better then, say, IV regarding neutral but still. I do wish we could get a SMT where all routes have clear pros and co s and it truly comes down to the individual playing what to do and not the game making you feel what is the right thing.
