Oh they will.
You could see the blood and the unusual movement it did as it moved up.
>HURR DURR I"M A FUCKING IDIOT WHO GOES CHARGING INTO EVERYTHING HOPING FOR THE BEST
open you're fucking eye's retard
>All those signs telling you something is off about the elevator in a fortress of traps
>Still get skewered like a moron
I'm being baited.
Told you they would. I don't know how they even still have the energy to defend this straight up bad game design.
The thing that non-Souls players don't understand is that death by trial and error is a game mechanic in these games. You're supposed to die from time to time, being it a trap you did not notice, or an unexpected enemy ambush.
People like OP are treating such tricky deaths as bad game design, as if dying in this game is somehow a terrible thing. You have to embrace it, and be more careful next time.
Try not being a retard
>open you are fucking eye is
>American education
>obsessed
wait people actually died to this?
i literally didnt even know this trap existed because i always got off the second the elevator stopped
Go back to /r/eddit, you fucking nigger
why is it so important that a game should always be fair
dark souls has some bullshit your first time around and that's how it's designed to be and that's completely fine
I imagine if you couldn't quick save in the Fallout games, people would be calling all the traps in them artificial difficulty. But since you can just instantly redo something traps in those games are meaningless. Just a though I had.
>dies in a car crash
defend this carfags
You're sad
>elevator in a building full of traps covered in a blood in some shitty corner
Couldn't be more obvious, I never even knew it was a trap for sure until I saw retards complaining about it on Sup Forums in 2012.
It doesn't even one-hit
You guys know OP is a troll right? He made a thread just like this about the pressure plate trap last night.
>trial and error
Only for legitimately bad players
There's only a handful of unfair deaths in DaS1, and the vast majority of cases can be avoided or mitigated by paying attention
Did anyone else genuinely not know about this? I didnt notice it until like my 4th playthrough and only then because I saw an image like this so was looking out for it.
I did manage to avoid that first try, it's a dungeon that has already established itself as having traps and obstacles everywhere, a bloody elevator was suspicious. What annoyed me was the dragon bridge, sure it's all burnt, but they have a bunch of hollows walking around it fine.
This. I literally just replayed Dark Souls this weekend, and the only forced death is the first time you meet Seath. There was literally no other time where my death wasn't because I played bad.
What's the problem with it?
dragon bridge is fucking dumb. just because there are some blacker stones on it doesn't mean people figure out that a dragon is going to come flying as soon as you go onto the bridge
I agree for the first game. Not 2.
This. When I first played I almost got off the elevator but stayed on once it started moving again, expecting another floor above me. After I got stabbed I noticed the blood stain and had a good laugh over how obvious the trap was. It had a good impact on the game for me.
When you first go to the undead burg a drake lands right in front of you. If you didn't know it would come back later it's on you. Failing that, it only deals about 600 damage, not very punishing.
It is practically impossible to get killed by the first attack
>When you first go to the undead burg a drake lands right in front of you. If you didn't know it would come back later it's on you. Failing that, it only deals about 600 damage, not very punishing.
there's no reason why it would come back and randomly surprise attack some bridge
>literally literally literally literally literally literally
when will this shit stop
fucking redditors
Wow shit, I'm not sure why I dislike it so much then. I dont remember it dealing like no damage. I can only guess I tried to block it, wiki says you take multiple instances of damage for doing it. That or I was upset I had to waste estus, it's been so long.
yeah it's not a huge deal because it doesn't kill you but it annoys me how people act like you're supposed to just put together that a dragon is going to come and blast your ass.
It's possible they patched the first attack to do a lot less damage in one of the earliest patches, but that must have been weeks after the English console release.
It always pissed me off that Dark Souls 2 and 3 didn't use traps enough. They were the most fun part of the first game for me.
>Hurr durr look at us we're retarded
>Fuck off retards
>Wow, wtf why is everyone so obsessed with us
Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember it
a) stopping for some time on the second floor before going into spikes
b) there's fuck ton of blood (which is unusual, if you think about it. literally no other place in the whole game where blood stains used as decoration. and even if there is it's probably used to indicate another trap)
Anyway, either OP is a fucking retard, or this is a bait thread. OP is a pathetic retard in both cases, though.
I just played it yesterday and tried to tank the damage after killing Solaire and equipping his stuff. Didn't work.
You're playing a video game, you're the main character. What do you think the drake is for if not to attack you? I had it on my mind the whole time I was going through the burg. Also the fact that it flies around that bridge constantly, I saw it when I was going from the bonfire to the taurus demon a few times. If you don't pay attention to your surroundings you'll get surprised, but that's true for any game, this wasn't just a cheap shot.
git gud
If it's so obvious that it was a trap, then all the people saying they were too smart to be fooled by it shouldn't have gotten on it in the first place, even though getting on it is required to progress
maybe it would come back as a boss battle instead of a stage hazard
I mean fuck, if it really wanted to it could hunt you down and kill you wherever you were
I beat this game 4 times and i never even encountered this. The elevator stopped at the top so i got off and continued my adventure. Why did everybody fall for this?
blood on the floor, you're dumb.
im fairly sure this is near the mimic too so if you wern't looking for traps, sorry you died.
> literally no other place in the whole game where blood stains used as decoration. and even if there is it's probably used to indicate another trap
Better kill that guy then, just to be safe.
>getting on it is required to progress
you don't even have to go that way to progress either, just if you're a collect-fag
Its probably territorial and chose that tower as its roosting spot. It also probably thinks the black knight up there is its baby and doesnt let it leave.
How were you supposed to be ready for a trap in Sen's Fortress of all places? I just don't understand it, bros.
>I beat this game 4 times and i never even encountered this
I always ran up the boulder ramp to the turnable device, completely ignoring most of that shit.
user did you shop that blood in yourself?
Good Job Buddy.
Kill him and you get a kat, that's a good hint.
...
...
What about dark wood grain users?
>merely pretending?
Now we're talking
...
Been a few years since I played Dark Souls, but aren't you suppose to roll out before it goes too far? This is Sen's Fortress right? Leading to the spot with your first mimic encounter? Pretty easy to dodge if you've realized by then nothing can be trusted in that place.
Should have been a style for the final boss in 3.
>Invade Sen's Fortress in full Havel's
>Block the exit of the elevator with a greatshield
>Target Destroyed
Yo when you come to it
And you can't go through it
And you can't knock it down
You know that you've found
you actually can run through here and make the arrows hit the lizard dude.
source: one of my builds never ever ever used shields.
But I have never seen people complain about arrow traps being unfair. Sen's Fortress elevator, Seath killing you and Dragon Bridge are the most common offenders.

Say what you want about Afro he made some damn fine entertaining videos.
But he was just reading a post someone else made.
Shiva of the East?
>fall for it once (even though I could have deduced it was a trap because of the blood)
>never die in the elevator ever again
there's this ability of humans called learning
You're correct.
The platform stops next to an exit briefly in case you're actually dense enough to step on every available platform in the fortress of traps
More like... Shiva the deceased
Hold up, people actually died to this?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>Jokes on them i was baiting for (you)s because i was bored fapping to the most gayest trap porn ever made
Don't you even post again, cocksucking beast.
IIRC there's also tons of burns around the bridge it shits all over, the first time I went there I noticed the burns and assumed something like that would happen.
but the OP has trap porn in the image
Sure. A game doesn't have to be fair all the time and that's a really fucking casual attitude to have.
What if a game was fair throughout and still kicked your ass while mocking you for it?
How many times have you seen this thread before?
That's fine too. But if elvis did some unavoidable damage shit then laughed at you that would be fine too.
If by the point where you reach that elevator, you didn't quite catch that Shen Fortress is full of deadly traps, maybe you should consider working on a sweatshop.
why do people like the giantdad meme. Its not even a good build.
its the LOOK !
