I never understood people's obsession with the Revelations games. I was told Revelations 1 was a return to the original RE formula, but it plays more like a watered-down version of RE4 with a scanning gimmick.

yeah I was considering getting revelations but that scanning shit looks like it'd be really annoying after a while

It's a shittier RE5. Plays worse than RE5, looks worse than RE5, has an even lamer story than RE5. 1-7 are all "proper RE games" compared to Revelations.

Back when I took the Resident Evil lore and canon seriously, it always bothered me that RECV wasn't the real RE3 and that RE3 was only a sidequel that added nothing but retcons to the story. I since learned to accept that fact and live with it
